Expedition: Fingers/The Ghostly Trial - 16 July 2021
Expedition: Fingers/The Ghostly Trial - 16 July 2021
On the morning of July 16th, Fingers leads his group out of the city gates towards Frogmorton Ford. They cross the river after lunchtime using the Ford, notifying the guardsmen that their intended purpose is to further explore the barrowdowns located a few miles on.

Don't forget Sprinkles!

Re: Expedition: Fingers/The Ghostly Trial - 16 July 2021
Added.
Does anyone bring mounts?

Re: Expedition: Fingers/The Ghostly Trial - 16 July 2021
Alas, no badger druid and menagerie.
Fingers bought three weeks worth of good meals on July 9. With a July 16 departure, that's one more week of rest for Fingers. He'll continue to live off the good stuff for the week, which should give him 4 days of +2 saving throws.
Good meals: 5sp/day, 7 days: 3g, 5s
Room: 7 sp
4g, 5s deducted
Would the Church of Baudh be willing to bless a dog?

Unconventional, but sure. If you pay, they'll do it.
Re: Expedition: Fingers/The Ghostly Trial - 16 July 2021
Half-rations for Fingers over 28 days, eating like a dog king at 2.5sp/day: 7 gp. Deducted.Marullus wrote:I'll give [Fingers] the same bonus to Saves as Fingers gets, assuming you share food with your dog. (Pay his half-rations)
Re: Expedition: Fingers/The Ghostly Trial - 16 July 2021
Bandy recalls that the entrance to the tomb was a bit of a scramble (OOC: that's correct, isn't it?) and so decides to stable HIS pony. But he does so at the Frogmorton's farm, so it will be more accessible in case they need to retrieve him to carry anything back.
He also makes sure he has 8 days of dried rations and 2 days of fresh rations in his pack. He leaves his sleeping roll and blanket behind, however he does wear his patchy cloak.

Markd mentions the need for spikes, as he recalls them using an old musty carpet or something similar to hold open a gated door.
He likes the halfling's idea of going light, but wonders what materials they may actually need there.
lanterns, spikes, etc?

We should probably load up on holy water, too. And probably healing potions. Fingers will pick up 4 of the former and 2 more of the latter.
Do I need to pop into the Chapel of Baudh thread to post that, or can we assume the transaction has been made?

You can always assume those as normal transactions when listed for sale on a thread; they don't need a response. But do post it there for easier recordkeeping.

Done.
Fingers gives Allmond four vials of holy water for the expedition.

With the gear all prepared, the group assembles the next morning at the East gate of the city. A morning walk in the brisk air and the group arrives at Frogmorton Ford. They tell the Guardsmen their business and Bandy leaves his pony in the care of the delightful Frogmorton girl, who looks enviously after the group. It is just past noon when the group has all crossed the river Ford.

Bandy is carrying 45 lbs and slept well and ate good meals (is that +2 saves?).

If we can just call the start of the expedition the 18th, then Bandy can get one of his magic items back from Piedmont for identification. Might be useful to have. No extra role playing is needed; just two days for the research...

And payment for two more days of lodging and food. I'm okay waiting two days, but Fingers's free spending on this mission is starting to leave him a bit low on cash.
Fingers and Sprinkles have four days of +2 on saving throws.

Markd is still overloaded with crap... I am trying to get him down to fighting weight.
(best options for an extra magical weapon? Too bad there arent storage units in town...)

What kind of weapon? Loan it to an npc?
Re: Expedition: Fingers/The Ghostly Trial - 16 July 2021
either a plus 2/1 sword or a +3 quarterstaff
I am probably better off "displaying" teh Quarterstaff at the cathedral for tribute purposes.

Florin Allmond might be able to use the staff.
The first Mission From Baudh group got routed by creatures that could only be hit by Irving's sword. It might be prudent to have as many people as possible outfitted with magical weapons.
