Jónas emerges from his meditative state. The noise is still there, but now it's connected to (a rather underwhelming) source.

"We can reach and hit him with the pole!" he whispers to the others.

Doubtful looks up for a moment and strains to hear something else in the background. I think I just heard poor judgment wake. Shaking it off he refocuses on the musical assassin.

Looking at his peers crowding around to see if anyone has a missile weapon.

Keilif:

A slow smile appears across Keilif's face as he exclaims, "Blessed Shileil!" Witnessing the miracle of the salve, he then offers a dose to Ben.

[OGRE MAGE]

Ermulf can't take the stink of the half-orcs neck any longer so he hurriedly moves off to join with the others.

Alec sees no stones or other missile-like objects lying around near the hatch.

Keilif awaits the poisoned sailors response.

Vhing is at 1 hit point and extremely weak. (-2 to attacks and saves) He will require a full night of comfortable sleep for him to be able to function normally again. Stirling, I would appreciate if you could try to play him that way a little more please. In other words, no more acrobatics!

Looking through the hatch a bit longer, you notice two small wooden casks and what looks like a bolt of cloth lying on the stone floor next to the stairway. The man goes on playing, he seems to be acting a bit frustrated, possibly finally realizing his skill level in making music.

You can't see the entire room from the hatch so ignore the doors for now. The X is where the flautist is sitting, facing the wall with the beds.

Vhing gets off the kitchen cushions to retrieve his sledgehammer."Anyone checked for beer down in the cellar yet? Thirsty work all this exploring."

Vhing will follow the others down the hallway.

Ben will gratefully accept a taste of the foul smelling slime if it takes away the god-awful sea-sickness... it couldn't make it worse??

The Search Continues...

Instead of trying the already proven topical application, Ben instead decides to eat some of Keilifs yellow ooze. He soon wishes that he didn't. His mouth is instantly assaulted with a rotten flavor that is even worse than the smell. He can feel the glop burn all the way down his throat and quickly continue moving through his entire digestive system. In only a few short seconds after eating the salve, it exits the sickened sailor in the form of black bile. The smell is as horrific as the look on Bens face. The toxic goo tingles the skin as it dribbles down the back of the embarrassed mans legs. However, immediately after that, he begins to feel his old self again, and other than his now filthy, stinking trousers, he actually feels better than ever. (poison neutralized and fully healed)

Keilif plugs his nose and leads his two rejuvenated but horrible smelling comrades to the room with the hatch just as the others are beginning to enter it.


Ermulf cups his hand over Vhings mouth just before he is about to spout off loudly to Doubtful. He gives the newcomers the "be quiet" signal as they enter. Jonas suggests poking the lone man with the pole but gets no bites. A quick consensus from the others around the hatch is to enter the room and accost the man using violence.

The scent of body order mixed with rum hits your noses as Doubtful takes a few steps down the stairs. You can feel the slightest breeze blowing past you from the direction of the open back door. Burly readies his rolling pin and follows closely behind, suggesting that they hurry up.

Suddenly the man stops his torturous playing and rises to his feet. He slams the horn down on the table and begins sniffing the air around him.

Bloody Fucking Hell!!! Where is that damn stink coming from?

He tries to move away from the table and almost looses his balance due to the sticky sweetness under his boots. He then looks at the floor, seeing his feet covered in delicious frosting.

What the......!!!

Just then, Jervis charges down the stairs, screaming his threats of bisection. The man instinctively looks to his right and sees that he is now under attack. The look of surprise and horror are obvious in the mans eyes as he begins to scream out for help.

Actions!

Doubtful and Burly can include one surprise action in their next post that will happen before we start the first round of combat.

Since it is slow going getting ten people through the hatch and down the stairs, ONLY Doubtful, Burly, and Jervis will be able to make an offensive action in this first round. I will then go by the normal marching order as to who will be able to act in round 2.

The rest of the group can still make an action, as long as it doesn't involve an actual attack.

Vhing raises an eyebrow at the two ransacked side rooms and hangs back at the rear of the group, fidgetting uncomfortably. If no one else is carrying the stirge box Vhing will do so, it was last mentioned in the kitchen. He will also place Shoo-Fly in his cloak hood.

"I see Burly found some new garb, maybe there's another cupboard upstairs with some cleaner stuff, (or Burlys' old clothes), either we change or shower in buckets of well water Ben." Vhing suggests a snoop around to Ben and Keiliff.

Raising his club threateningly at the floppy-hatted man but not swinging, Doubtful hisses "Lower your voice and sit down now. Honest answers and you don't get hurt. Who else is here. Answer now!"

Doubtful, most alarmed that the man yelled out for help, glances at the back of the room toward the open door to see if there is anyone else.

"Hush yer caterwauling, we ain't gonna kill ya!" Burly hisses, aiming for the man's noggin, hoping to knock him out.
