From 2015: [D&D] Potential chat game tonight? ~7:30PM (CST)

#1 Post by dmw71 »

I'm not sure how it would work, but the wife has plans to go out with a friend tonight (and the Cubs game will be over), so I should have a few free hours tonight.

I know it's a Friday night, and this is short notice, but if anyone is interested in giving it a try, I'd be tempted to try and run a chat game here on the US website tonight. It would be some edition of D&D, with very loose rules. We can figure it out as we go.

If anyone is tempted, let me know.

Alright!

I'll definitely be on. I'll try to get online a little after 7:00PM (CST) and will get logged into chat. I'll be thinking about the logistics of how it will work in the meantime, but I'm open to ideas.

Including edition. Preferences?

Me: ODD, 1e, 2e (or their kin like LL/OSRIC/etc.) in that order, but I don't really care.

I'd suggest that the sooner we know how character creation will work, the less time we'd need to spend on it during the chat session.

Sounds interesting. I will watch this thread and see what happens.

Im a bit of a Neanderthal and never had to learn how to type so, I must admit that my chat prowess is rather weak.

I guess I could play a half-orc?

Thinking a bit more about edition, character creation is probably fastest in ODD, since you don't have to worry about proficiencies (weapon or otherwise), the equipment list is small, etc. OTOH, there's something to be said for using whatever edition you're most familiar with so you don't have to spend much time looking things up.

As for character creation, once the edition is agreed upon, I won't care how a player goes about it. Feel free to use whatever method you'd like, including just making up your rolls. For this game, I really don't care.

You'd just lose initiative is all. ;)

In that case, my comfort is probably 2E, but it lends to the most complicated character creation.

Let's just go Basic (BX or BECMI).

Cool?

Yes, starting 1st level characters with maximum hit points. Feel free to make more than one, if you'd like. You know, just in case. ;)

I'm leaving work now, but should be back online in a couple hours.

I've been playing around with the chat for a bit. Could be interesting. :)

I'll be back in about a half hour. Anyone who wants to play, just roll up a Basic character and join us in chat.

(19:18:27) GreyWolfVT: Hi Dave
(19:18:37) dmw71: Alrighty. Let's see how many people we can get signed into this thing. :)
(19:18:59) GreyWolfVT: :D
(19:19:19) dmw71: I just sat down with some dinner, which I'm going to try and eat real quick, but I'll be here.
(19:19:26) dmw71: If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
(19:19:44) GreyWolfVT: alright
(19:19:57) GreyWolfVT: I re-rolled my stats in chat
(19:20:05) GreyWolfVT: got a bunch of 11's
(19:20:23) GreyWolfVT: a 12 an 8 and a 9
(19:20:37) dmw71: That's totally fine. For now, I consider this an experimental game. I'm really not concerned with how you generate your characters -- you can just make stuff up.
(19:20:45) GreyWolfVT: alright
(19:24:12) ChatBot: Zhym logs into the Chat.
(19:24:21) GreyWolfVT: and then there was 3
(19:24:30) dmw71: Nice.
(19:24:31) GreyWolfVT: :)
(19:24:38) GreyWolfVT: Hi8 Zhym
(19:24:42) ChatBot: dmw71 is now known as (Dave).
(19:24:42) GreyWolfVT: Hi*
(19:24:45) Zhym: Hey y'all.
(19:24:48) Zhym: Hope we can get some more.
(19:24:57) (Dave): Me, too.
(19:24:57) Zhym: Speaking of making up numbers, I have two characters.
(19:25:11) (Dave): That's cool.
(19:25:19) (Dave): Now... how to manage them?
(19:25:20) ChatBot: GreyWolfVT is now known as (Ed).
(19:25:21) Zhym: Mediocre Fred: S 11, I 12, W 10, D 10, Co 11, Ch 12.
(19:25:31) (Ed): hmm that is kinda nice
(19:25:42) Zhym: Irv the Implausible: S 18, I 14, W 13, D 17, C 16, Ch 15. ;)
(19:25:45) (Ed): going by my real name for once lol
(19:26:12) ChatBot: Zhym is now known as (Irv_the_Implau).
(19:26:20) ChatBot: (Irv_the_Implau) is now known as (Irv).
(19:26:34) (Irv): With one PC per player, you can do stuff like this.
(19:26:43) (Irv): Kinda hard with two, though.
(19:26:52) (Irv) explains the obvious.
(19:26:53) (Ed): yeah
(19:27:24) (Dave): So, what classes are Fred and Irv?
(19:27:29) ChatBot: (Ed) is now known as (Drax).
(19:27:43) (Dave): I'm creating a spreadsheet where I'll try to track everything.
(19:28:00) (Irv): Just figuring that out now. Probably an elf for Irv. They're know-it-alls. ;)
(19:28:01) (Drax): "Take a guess at what I be playin'."
(19:28:20) (Irv): And let's make Fred a hobbit.
(19:30:27) (Irv): One of these days I want to run an good old fashioned Monty Haul game like we used to play in high school. High levels, everyone has at least one artifact or relic, that sort of thing.
(19:30:42) (Irv): make that jr. high school. :)
(19:30:57) (Drax): three guess ta figure out what I am an tha first two don't count ;)
(19:31:42) (Drax): hmm jr high school my friends and i ran mostly lowbies
(19:31:49) (Drax): with no magical items
(19:31:58) (Dave): Okay, Drax, how is your character(s) looking?
(19:32:20) (Drax): until we got to at least 3rd level unless we got really lucky and beat something powerful with a stock of magical items
(19:32:27) (Drax): character is almost done
(19:32:35) (Drax): just finishing equipment
(19:32:36) (Dave): Cool.
(19:32:47) (Irv): Oh, heck. I think I had a high-level F/MU with a Staff of the Magi, a PSeudodragon familiar, and I can't remember what else. Probably a bunch of high-tech loot he got from running through Expedition to the Barrier Peaks.
(19:32:48) (Dave): Irv, can you send me the ACs for your characters?
(19:33:05) (Irv): Haven't picked out their armor yet. Let me get on that.
(19:33:13) (Dave): Cool.
(19:33:36) (Dave): Elves and halflings should each start wtih 6 hit points.
(19:33:58) (Irv): Thanks. Irv's is 8 due to his implausible constitution.
(19:34:25) (Dave): I don't think you'll ever seem me running -- Ah, good point. I wasn't factoring in any ability score adjustments.
(19:35:04) (Dave): Anyway, I don't think you'll ever see me running a "monty haul" game. My comfort level is definitely with starting 1st-level characters.
(19:36:09) (Irv): Yeah. I just think it'd be nice to have a lighthearted high-level power game as a one-off.
(19:36:32) (Dave): Someone else would need to run that one... I would be WAY out of my element.
(19:36:40) (Dave): I couldn't even play in that.
(19:37:26) (Irv): What, you haven't even once wanted characters capable of going up against the gods themselves? :)
(19:37:46) (Drax): alright Drax is all done
(19:37:56) (Dave): Maybe once upon a time, a long time ago. Now, I couldn't even fathom it.
(19:38:08) (Dave): Okay, Drax, send me your basic information.
(19:38:11) ChatBot: AleBelly logs into the Chat.
(19:38:17) (Dave): Yes!
(19:38:20) (Drax): does it matter to you that i have him in a roller sheet?
(19:38:32) (Dave): No, I don't care how you manage it on your end.
(19:38:40) (Drax): alright
(19:38:43) AleBelly: Sorry gents. Can't make it tonight. :?
(19:38:44) (Irv): Irv: Plate mail, shield, long sword, long bow. AC 0 w/ dex adjustment.
(19:38:54) (Irv): GRRR. Wrong answer, AleBelly. :p
(19:38:56) (Drax): Hi Alebelly
(19:38:58) (Dave): For me, I just want: Name, Class, Ability Scores, HP, AC, Weapons
(19:39:05) (Drax): alright
(19:39:13) (Dave): Ha! Too bad, man. It would have been nice to have another player.
(19:39:53) (Drax): bah
(19:40:03) (Drax): hit a key that closed chat
(19:40:13) AleBelly: Yeah. Instead I get to fix my dryer. Would rather be playing! Have fun and I hope to join one in the future
(19:40:29) (Drax): hmm chrome is being silly now
(19:40:30) (Irv): Ugh. That doesn't sound like a fun Friday at all.
(19:40:33) (Dave): Good luck with that.
(19:41:03) (Drax): good luck with that one AleBelly
(19:41:47) (Irv): (whispers) Mediocre Fred (Hobbit): S 11, I 12, W 10, D 10, Co 11, Ch 12; HP 6; AC 4; Short sword, short bow.
(19:41:59) ChatBot: AleBelly has been logged out (Timeout).
(19:42:41) (Drax): Name: Drax Greybeard Class: Dwarf Str 12, Int 9, Wis 11, Dex 11, Con 11, Cha 8, HP 8, AC 4, Short Bow, Hand Axe
(19:43:01) (Dave): (whispers to (Irv)) I also need to know what armor they're wearing.
(19:43:02) (Drax): I can give you the armor as well
(19:43:06) (Irv): (whispers) Irv the Implausible (Elf): S 18, I 14, W 13, D 17, C 16, Ch 15; HP 8; AC 0; Long sword, Long bow.
(19:43:15) (Irv): If we just want to play one character each, I'll roll with Fred.
(19:43:24) (Dave): Good point. I'll need to know what armor you're wearing.
(19:43:36) (Drax): Chain Mail Armor and a Shield
(19:43:51) (Irv): Fred's in chain & shield; Irv is in plate mail.
(19:44:36) (Drax): Don't ask why I have such and interest in Dwarves
(19:44:46) (Drax): and Gnomes lol
(19:45:03) (Irv): Oh, and Irv also has a shield.
(19:45:26) ChatBot: (Irv) is now known as (Mediocre_Fred).
(19:46:04) ChatBot: (Drax) is now known as (Drax_Greybeard).
(19:47:30) (Mediocre_Fred): We should do one of these sometime and have more than half day's notice. ;)
(19:47:31) (Dave): Okay, I have Irv and Fred done. Time to update Drax.
(19:47:43) (Drax_Greybeard): alright
(19:48:00) (Drax_Greybeard): I agree with Zyhm er uh Fred
(19:48:03) (Dave): I never get to do this. My wife let me know over lunch that she was going out... I thought, what to do when I'm alone? D&D, of course!
(19:48:17) (Drax_Greybeard): lol
(19:48:29) (Drax_Greybeard): D&D is about the only hobby I have
(19:48:29) (Mediocre_Fred): Heh.
(19:48:57) (Mediocre_Fred): I made the mistake of telling my wife about this. If I end up having to leave, it's because she realized I have the time for quality time instead of this. ;)
(19:49:03) (Drax_Greybeard): (20:42:41) (Drax): Name: Drax Greybeard Class: Dwarf Str 12, Int 9, Wis 11, Dex 11, Con 11, Cha 8, HP 8, AC 4, Short Bow, Hand Axe if you needed it again Dave
(19:49:05) (Dave): What armor does Drax have?
(19:49:15) (Drax_Greybeard): Chain Mail
(19:49:19) (Drax_Greybeard): and a Shield
(19:49:28) (Dave): Cool. We're almost set. :)
(19:49:44) (Drax_Greybeard): lol
(19:49:59) (Dave): So, all weapons are 1d6, right?
(19:50:08) (Drax_Greybeard): I thought so
(19:50:18) (Mediocre_Fred): I believe so.
(19:50:37) (Dave): We'll use the variable weapon damage chart. I just wanted to confirm that all the selected weapons are still 1d6.
(19:50:48) (Dave): B27 for chart.
(19:50:59) (Dave): I don't see long sword or long bow. I'm thinking they're both 1d6.
(19:51:25) (Mediocre_Fred): Oh, right. Basic D&D. Just make that "Sword" and "Bow" for each.
(19:51:50) (Dave): They list both in the equipment list, just not in the variable weapon damage chart.
(19:52:04) (Mediocre_Fred): Oh, right. Long sword is just "sword."
(19:52:17) (Dave): Okay, I'm not sure how much time I have either... so, let's just jump right into this.
(19:52:29) (Mediocre_Fred): Long/Short bow is "Arrow" (1d6)
(19:52:30) (Dave): It's going to be a simple dungeon crawl.
(19:53:16) (Drax_Greybeard): ok
(19:53:53) (Drax_Greybeard): still all my dmg is 1d6
(19:54:03) (Drax_Greybeard): hand axe 1d6 short bow 1d6
(19:54:12) (Dave) You've all know each other, and have been traveling together since morning. Your destination: Mount Doom.
(19:55:02) (Dave): You heard a rumor of a previously undetected entrance and, following the directions of the rumor supplier, you find it without difficulty.
(19:55:51) (Dave): You all have low light vision, so underground travel will be only a slight issue, though, a light source would be beneficial.
(19:56:15) (Drax_Greybeard): "I've got some torches in me pack."
(19:56:29) (Mediocre_Fred): For expedience, maybe we could assume we have basic adventuring gear with us: torches, ropes, spikes, etc.
(19:56:37) (Dave): The entrance, carved into the side of the mountain, slides open.
(19:56:47) (Dave): {yes, basic adventuring gear is assumed]
(19:57:23) (Drax_Greybeard):
(19:57:24) (Dave): Beyond this secret entrance is a standard, 10-foot wide stone passage.
(19:57:53) (Dave): Somewhat surprisingly, there's another door 10-feet in front of you.
(19:58:07) (Dave): Actions?
(19:58:25) (Drax_Greybeard): looks questioningly at the second door so close to the first
(19:58:34) (Drax_Greybeard): "Thats odd."
(19:59:04) (Mediocre_Fred): Irv, implausibly bold, steps forward and tries the door.
(19:59:26) (Dave) The door opens.
(19:59:56) (Mediocre_Fred) wonders what the point of the extra door is.
(19:59:58) (Dave): Inside the room, there are two bandits who are surprised to be disturbed. "Hey, who goes there?" they ask.
(20:00:33) (Drax_Greybeard): "A hairfoot, a long beard an a pointy eared elf."
(20:00:42) (Dave): Each bandit is carrying a long sword and a spear, and are wearing leather armor.
(20:00:46) (Drax_Greybeard): the dwarf replies.
(20:00:51) (Mediocre_Fred): "Irving the Implausible!" pronounces Irv. "...and associates," he adds.
(20:00:59) ChatBot: Alethan logs into the Chat.
(20:01:07) (Mediocre_Fred): Woot!
(20:01:29) (Drax_Greybeard): [Howdy Alethan]
(20:01:33) (Dave): "Hmm.." the first bandit grumbles. "How dare you disturb us! That will cost you."
(20:01:47) (Dave): Ethan... what's up, man? Any chance you have a character ready to roll?
(20:01:53) (Drax_Greybeard): "Sorry friend I'm broke."
(20:02:05) Alethan: [no time right now; sorry. Just lurking]
(20:02:21) (Dave): "No coin. No passage." he says defensively.
(20:02:24) (Drax_Greybeard): [stalker :P]
(20:02:37) (Dave): (whispers to Alethan) That's cool.
(20:02:42) Alethan: [child still up and wife sleeping, so I'm in charge.]
(20:02:44) (Mediocre_Fred): Irv draws his sword. "Is that a threat, knave?"
(20:02:54) (Drax_Greybeard): "Hmm well surely one of these two has coin."
(20:03:06) (Dave): (whispers to Alethan) This is kind of fun. It's non-stop, which is sometimes difficult to keep track of, but fun.
(20:03:24) (Mediocre_Fred): Irv is suddenly confused. "Wait...is *coin* all that you're asking?"
(20:03:31) (Mediocre_Fred): "How much?"
(20:03:34) (Drax_Greybeard): "Or we'll play it that way I guess." Drax draws his axe and shield.
(20:03:56) (Drax_Greybeard): now at a loss due to the confusing nature of the elf
(20:04:03) (Drax_Greybeard): Drax lowers his axe
(20:04:19) (Dave): The bandits draw their own weapons. "We think you not want to do this."

When Irv hints at a possible willingness to pay, and asks how much, the bandits huddle.
(20:04:57) (Dave): After a moment, the first bandit responds with his demand. "One coin each," he says. "The brighter, the better."
(20:05:04) (Drax_Greybeard): "You sure bout this Elf?"
(20:05:19) ChatBot: (Mediocre_Fred) is now known as (Irv).
(20:05:34) (Irv): "One coin, eh? And what does this admission fee get us?"
(20:05:55) (Drax_Greybeard): "Hopefully in past the door."
(20:06:03) (Dave): "You want to get past, no? There is much to explore beyond." he says with a laugh. "Much."
(20:06:26) (Dave): The pair chuckle, an apparent slight at the trio of "adventurers before them.
(20:06:34) ChatBot: Alethan has been logged out (Timeout).
(20:06:50) (Irv): "And are you employed in some official capacity as gatekeepers?"
(20:06:51) (Drax_Greybeard): "Aye we want in why else would we open the durned door?"
(20:07:55) (Dave): "Maybe," the first bandit says, annoyed. "Is you gonna pay us or not?" he asks, his hand falling back to the hilt of his sword.
(20:08:33) (Dave): "Surely, you each have a coin you can spare.... for the promise of much more coin within!"
(20:08:40) (Dave): "Or...."
(20:08:51) (Drax_Greybeard): elbowing the elf "You gonna pay er talk elf?"
(20:08:51) (Dave): The pair of bandits huddle up again.
(20:09:03) (Irv): "Why should we pay that coin to you? You are outnumbered, and we are clearly better equipped."
(20:09:33) (Dave): "Here be the deal. One coin on the way in... or two coins each on the way out."
(20:09:47) (Drax_Greybeard): looking to Fred now Drax just shrugs not knowing Irv's plan
(20:10:16) (Dave): The second bandit grows impatient. He begins to slide his sword out of his scabbard, but does not pull it out fully.
(20:11:09) (Drax_Greybeard): still has the shield in one hand and axe in the other, the axe is just held less threateningly at his side. "Two on the way out sounds a nice offer."
(20:11:33) (Irv): "Two on the way out, hm? Seems reasonable. But take care—we shall be on our guard against nefariousness!"
(20:11:45) (Drax_Greybeard): "Gives me more time ta polish them coins ya know."
(20:12:19) (Irv): "Now let us pass. We have foul monsters to vanquish!"
(20:12:21) (Drax_Greybeard): smiling through his facial hair "I'll make em real shiny fer ya both."
(20:12:41) (Dave): The bandits look at each other. A moment later, they shrug. The first bandit agrees. "It'll be two coins each on the way out. We agree. You can pass."
(20:13:13) (Drax_Greybeard): "Alright."
(20:13:22) (Dave): The bandits step aside and allow the trio to pass beyond them, where the passage continues.
(20:14:01) ChatBot: onlyme logs into the Chat.
(20:14:03) (Irv) steps boldly forward, keeping a wary eye on the bandits.
(20:14:09) (Drax_Greybeard): looks around as they pass through noting anything that looks off or might be worth grabbing
(20:14:12) (Irv): AFK a sec.
(20:14:31) (Dave): Leaving the bandits behind, the group continues down this new 10-wide stone passage for another 20-feet. Just ahead, it appears to open into another chamber.
(20:15:06) (Drax_Greybeard): [Hi onlyme]
(20:15:11) (Dave): Welcome, onlyme. Are you looking to join?
(20:15:15) (Dave): We just started.
(20:15:22) ChatBot: AleBelly logs into the Chat.
(20:15:38) (Drax_Greybeard): [welcome back AleBelly]
(20:15:39) (Dave): AleBelly, you tease.
(20:16:05) ChatBot: onlyme has been logged out (Timeout).
(20:17:26) ChatBot: AleBelly has been logged out (Timeout).
(20:17:50) (Drax_Greybeard): sliding the axe back into his belt and the shield up onto his arm more taking his pack off for a moment to grab out a torch and his flint and steel Drax lights a torch
(20:18:17) (Drax_Greybeard): puts away his flint and steel slings the pack back on and takes the torch in the shield hand
(20:18:47) (Drax_Greybeard): [provided that is possible.]
(20:19:21) (Irv): Back.
(20:19:35) (Drax_Greybeard): [welcome back]
(20:19:44) (Dave): The torchlight fills the passage and spills into the chamber ahead. It also attracts some attention from a trio of humans heading in your direction.
(20:20:09) (Drax_Greybeard): takes his axe in the opposite hand from the torch
(20:20:25) (Dave): They're all armed, and carrying a chest. Not wanting to risk losing their haul, they immediately draw their weapons -- long swords.
(20:20:31) (Irv): "What ho! Friend or foe?"
(20:20:54) (Dave): "Grrrr!" the leader growls. "FOE!" he bellows.
(20:20:55) (Drax_Greybeard): "Appears obvious ta me elf. They look ta be foes."
(20:21:13) (Irv): "We don't know that—we only just met!"
(20:21:26) (Irv): "Now we do."
(20:21:31) (Irv) draws his sword.
(20:21:39) (Drax_Greybeard): "Any friend that draws steel with out word be a foe by my standards."
(20:21:43) (Dave) One of you -- let's say Irv -- please roll for initiative (1d6).
(20:21:48) ChatBot: (Irv) rolls 1d6 and gets 5.
(20:21:52) ChatBot: (Dave) rolls 1d6 and gets 2.
(20:22:13) ChatBot: (Irv) rolls 1d20 and gets 12.

(20:22:53) ChatBot: (Dave) rolls 1d20 and gets 19.
(20:22:56) (Irv): +3
(20:23:24) (Dave): Hmmm... that was a test roll (I wanted to see if 1d20+3 worked). Not sure?
(20:23:25) (Irv): We're all at melee range?
(20:23:28) (Dave): Hahahaha
(20:23:36) (Irv): I don't think that works.
(20:23:40) (Irv): Here's a test:
(20:23:40) (Dave): Yes, everyone is close enough for melee.
(20:23:44) ChatBot: (Irv) rolls 1d2 and gets 2.
(20:23:53) (Irv): That was "/roll 1d2+5"
(20:24:02) (Dave): Good test.

(20:25:15) (Drax_Greybeard): *grumbling sounds coming from Drax*
(20:25:29) (Dave): Irv runs through the leader, dropping him into a pool of blood. Fred and Drax are unable to connect.
(20:25:59) (Irv): "Flee with your lives, knaves!"
(20:26:09) (Dave): #2 target: Irv (1-2), Fred (3-4), Drax (5-6)

(20:32:15) (Dave) Which did Irv attack, #2 vs Drax or #3 vs Fred?
(20:32:29) (Dave) It makes a difference.
(20:32:33) (Dave): [hint]
(20:32:42) (Irv): #2, since Drax got hit.
(20:33:01) (Drax_Greybeard): "Metun menu caragu sigim rukhas!"
(20:33:14) (Dave) The two remaining fighters continue to fight in a berserker rage!

(20:35:41) (Irv): (Orc Humper? Man, I saw them live. They put on a great show!)
(20:35:45) (Dave) Irv successfully slices through a second one, spilling its guts onto the dusty stone floor. The final berserker appears unphased, and presses the battle on!
(20:35:50) (Drax_Greybeard): [lol]
(20:35:56) (Dave) Drax, initiative?
(20:36:00) ChatBot: (Dave) rolls 1d6 and gets 3.

(20:38:08) (Irv): He's Implausible!
(20:38:45) (Drax_Greybeard): [damn]
(20:39:05) (Dave) After a vicious slash, the berserker stumbles, but remains on his feet. Bleeding profusely, it appears to momentarily reconsider it's actions... then yells! "DIE!!!!!!"
(20:39:10) (Drax_Greybeard): walks to the dead bodies and kicks them in the face for good measure
(20:39:13) (Dave) Initiative.
(20:39:26) ChatBot: (Irv) rolls 1d6 and gets 2.
(20:39:30) (Irv): Feh.
(20:39:34) ChatBot: (Dave) rolls 1d6 and gets 6.

(20:40:16) ChatBot: (Irv) rolls 1d20 and gets 7.
(20:40:19) ChatBot: (Drax_Greybeard) rolls 1d20 and gets 9.
(20:40:34) (Irv): (Guess the luck had to run out eventually)
(20:40:38) (Dave) Still bleeding heavily, he presses the fight.
(20:40:47) (Dave): Drax, initiative.
(20:40:49) ChatBot: (Drax_Greybeard) rolls 1d6 and gets 5.
(20:40:50) ChatBot: (Dave) rolls 1d6 and gets 4.

(20:41:18) ChatBot: (Irv) rolls 1d8 and gets 6.
(20:41:26) (Dave): Drax extracts his revenge and sends the last remaining berserker into the afterlife.
(20:41:30) ChatBot: (Drax_Greybeard) rolls 1d6 and gets 4.
(20:41:31) (Irv): 9 dmg vs. AC 5 or better.
(20:41:36) (Dave): Then kicks them for good measure.
(20:41:43) (Drax_Greybeard): yup
(20:41:56) (Drax_Greybeard): kicks them all one more time for the hell of it and for Fred
(20:42:11) (Drax_Greybeard): "Bastards killed Fred."
(20:42:13) (Irv): "Poor Fred. Of all the hobbits I knew, he was the most...plausible."
(20:42:28) (Dave): Hahahaha
(20:42:53) (Dave) The bandits have their weapons -- long swords -- and they were also carrying a wooden chest.
(20:42:53) (Drax_Greybeard): searches the dead men
(20:43:12) (Drax_Greybeard): "Eh sword if yah want any of em Elf."
(20:43:26) (Irv) looks at the chest. The men's chest. There's no way that's not sounding bad.
(20:43:38) (Irv): "Got a sword already."
(20:43:47) (Drax_Greybeard): walks to the chest and tries to open it
(20:44:13) (Dave) This chamber they find themselves in has exits in each wall -- you entered from the east; there are also chambers opening to the north, south, and west.
(20:44:17) (Drax_Greybeard): "Crazy tree lover staring at the men's chest whats wrong wit ya elf?"
(20:44:51) (Dave) The chest opens, and contains a pile of gold. You guess about 100 gold in total.
(20:45:08) (Drax_Greybeard): "Well this was worth the short trip
(20:45:14) (Drax_Greybeard): shall we go?"
(20:45:34) ChatBot: Error: Unknown command: /Looking
(20:45:56) ChatBot: Error: Unknown command: /Action
(20:46:09) (Drax_Greybeard): "Well after we give Fred a proper funeral and burial."
(20:46:19) (Irv): "Let us continue. There are more villains in this place, I can feel it!"
(20:46:29) (Dave) Looking to the south, the passage opens almost immediately into another chamber.
(20:46:42) (Drax_Greybeard): "I'll be lucky to live that long."
(20:46:43) (Dave) The passage north is long, and you do not see an end in sight.
(20:46:43) (Irv) leads the way south
(20:47:07) (Dave) To the west, the passage continues, with branches north and south after a short distance.
(20:47:08) (Drax_Greybeard): before leaving pockets some of the coins from the chest
(20:47:34) (Drax_Greybeard): [what ever is a plausible amount to carry with out being weighted down that is]
(20:47:45) (Irv): Or an Implausible amount to carry!
(20:47:51) (Dave): Ha!
(20:48:05) (Drax_Greybeard): wise arse elf
(20:48:27) (Dave) Entering the chamber to the south, you discover that the ceiling of this new room has cracked and buckled, requiring numerous wooden supports to hold it in place.
(20:48:46) (Drax_Greybeard): takes 20 gp from the chest.
(20:49:03) (Dave) It's roughly 20x30-feet.
(20:49:25) (Dave) The corpse of a Halfling lies in the corner of the room.
(20:49:30) (Drax_Greybeard): "This way don't look too safe ta me elf."
(20:49:38) (Dave): {not Fred}
(20:49:52) (Drax_Greybeard): [is it bilbo or frodo?]
(20:49:54) (Irv): "Mount Doom is not a safe place for halflings!"
(20:50:18) (Drax_Greybeard): "It appears that way."
(20:50:52) (Irv) squats down to the floor and gives it a close look.
(20:51:03) (Irv) pokes ahead of him with his sword.
(20:51:18) (Irv): "Beware of traps, my stout companion."
(20:51:30) (Drax_Greybeard): "Such a gentle touch ya have there elf." he jokes
(20:51:48) (Dave) The floor, like all previous floors leading up to this point, is dusty, with some human-sized footprints mixed with some halfling sized prints.
(20:52:21) (Irv) follows the footprints to the halfling's body
(20:52:27) (Dave) Proding the floor in front of him with his sword, Irv does not set anything off.
(20:52:42) (Drax_Greybeard): follows behind the elf
(20:52:46) ChatBot: (Dave) rolls 1d6 and gets 1.
(20:52:57) (Irv): (Never a good sign...)
(20:53:04) (Drax_Greybeard):
(20:53:27) (Drax_Greybeard): [been killed before by a dm in this room yah know :P]
(20:53:28) (Dave) A giant tick, living in the rafters above, jumps down on Irv as he passes below him.
(20:53:57) (Irv): "Foul creature!"
(20:54:15) (Drax_Greybeard): "Gah elf a big o'l tick on yer head!"
(20:54:16) (Irv) attacks the tick
(20:54:17) ChatBot: (Dave) rolls 1d20 and gets 4.
(20:54:34) (Irv): "You will find that gravity is a harsh mistress!"
(20:54:49) (Dave) The tick attempts to bite Irv, but finds his plate mail to be an unwelcomed treat.
(20:55:01) (Dave) Initiative - Irv
(20:55:04) ChatBot: (Dave) rolls 1d6 and gets 2.
(20:55:14) ChatBot: (Irv) rolls 1d6 and gets 4.
(20:55:19) ChatBot: (Irv) rolls 1d20 and gets 14.
(20:55:23) ChatBot: (Irv) rolls 1d8 and gets 4.
(20:55:42) (Irv): 7 dmg vs. AC 2 or better
(20:56:53) (Dave) Irv continues his dominance over opponents and slices through the arachnids shell, killing it.
(20:56:54) (Drax_Greybeard): squish goes the tick?
(20:57:09) (Drax_Greybeard): ah slice
(20:57:20) (Irv): Tick-ka-bob.
(20:57:43) (Drax_Greybeard): sure if you want to go that route
(20:57:47) (Irv) investigates the dead hobbit's body.
(20:58:05) (Drax_Greybeard): watches the ceiling for more falling ticks
(20:59:04) (Dave) The halfling has been sitting in the corner for some time, and his skin is a nasty, pasty color. He is wearing leather armor, and has a short sword.
(20:59:23) (Dave) Still inside the halfling's right hand is a small pouch.
(20:59:40) (Irv): "What have we here?"
(20:59:47) (Irv) takes the pouch and opens it.
(21:00:13) (Dave): (whispers to (Irv)) Inside the pouch are four small pearls.
(21:00:17) (Drax_Greybeard): watches behind them and above them still
(21:00:32) (Irv): "Four pearls!"
(21:00:41) (Irv) shows the pearls to Drax.
(21:01:18) (Irv) takes two pearls, gives two to Drax.
(21:01:18) (Drax_Greybeard): "Good find best hide em fore them boys back at the entrance hear about em."
(21:01:25) (Irv): "Onward, then?"
(21:01:31) (Dave) The room doesn't appear to have anything else of interest.
(21:01:32) (Irv): (Are there any other exits in this room?)
(21:01:36) (Drax_Greybeard): "If you wish to."
(21:01:51) (Drax_Greybeard): takes the two pearls
(21:01:56) (Dave) The only way out of the room is the direction you came.
(21:02:02) (Drax_Greybeard): tucks em into his pack
(21:02:34) (Irv) returns to the central room and heads west.
(21:02:36) (Drax_Greybeard): "Back out the way we came it looks to me Elf."
(21:02:51) (Drax_Greybeard): again follows trailin the elf
(21:02:53) (Dave) Exiting the chamber, you immediately find yourself back in the room with the berserker corpses.
(21:03:24) (Dave) There's the long passage to the north, and another to the west, with additional passages heading north and south after about 20-feet.
(21:03:53) (Irv): (The passage to the west continues on after the passages N and S?)
(21:04:19) (Dave) If you look north, it continues on to the end of your vision.
(21:04:32) (Drax_Greybeard): is that with the torch?
(21:04:41) (Drax_Greybeard): or just our low light vision?
(21:04:50) (Dave) If you look west, about 20-feet down this western passage, you notice their are side passages -- one heading north and another heading south.
(21:05:18) (Drax_Greybeard): we came in from the long passage to the north correct?
(21:05:30) (Dave) The western passage also continues after this north/south split.
(21:05:48) (Dave) You entered from the east, heading west.
(21:05:59) (Drax_Greybeard): ok
(21:06:08) (Irv): "Long passages bore me. Let us proceed west!"
(21:06:10) (Drax_Greybeard): "North or West?"
(21:06:23) (Drax_Greybeard): "Alright west it is."
(21:07:21) (Drax_Greybeard): [R.I.P. Fred]
(21:07:33) (Dave) After heading west about 20-feet, the passage continues, but it also branches north and south.

To the north, there are doors on the west and east doors after 15-feet. To the south, the passage runs about 20-feet before turning west again.
(21:07:34) (Irv) goes west.
(21:08:04) (Irv): (That was from the central room)
(21:08:24) (Dave) Looking straight ahead, past the side branches, the passage continues about 50-feet before turning north.
(21:08:29) (Drax_Greybeard): "Doors, west passage or south and then west in a long passage?"
(21:08:57) (Irv): (Does the passage to the north end in the E/W doors, or continue on?)
(21:09:02) (Drax_Greybeard): "Though my best guess is that west one turns into the south passage."
(21:09:42) (Drax_Greybeard): "But I could be wrong."
(21:09:51) (Irv): "The west passage seems to turn north, not south, my dwarven friend."
(21:10:03) (Drax_Greybeard): "Ya ya."
(21:10:13) (Dave): (Okay, you entered Mt Doom heading west. There was a door right away, where you met the bandits. You passed the bandits, continuing west and into the berserker room, with exits in all directions.

First, you explored south and found the tick. You skipped the northern passage and are continuing to move west.
(21:10:38) (Dave) Now you're faced with a N/S/W decision.
(21:10:43) (Drax_Greybeard): "Lets go check them doors."
(21:11:11) (Irv): (Right. And at this intersection W of the berserker room, the passage to the north has E/W doors after 15 ft, right? Does the passage end there, or continue on?)
(21:12:32) (Dave) It continues on. After 20-feet, the is another side passage heading west, and there's another door on the eastern wall another 10-feet after that. (It continues beyond this, but beyond your vision).
(21:13:11) (Irv): "Northward ho! Let us start with the door to the east."
(21:13:18) (Drax_Greybeard): walks to the doors in the north passage
(21:13:36) (Drax_Greybeard): stopping to check the east door with Irv
(21:14:14) (Irv) listens at the door.
(21:14:16) (Dave) Passing the first door, on the western wall, the pair move to the door on the eastern wall.
(21:14:41) (Dave) No sound is heard from within.
(21:14:51) (Irv) opens the door.
(21:15:36) (Drax_Greybeard): watches the passage
(21:16:18) (Dave) The door opens into a smaller, 10' x 15' chamber with no other exits. The lack of exits contain a putrid smell, as a pile of goblin corpses are found in the center of the room.
(21:16:42) (Drax_Greybeard): "That can't be good."
(21:16:46) (Irv): "Pee-ew!"
(21:16:57) (Drax_Greybeard): walks to the west door and listens
(21:17:17) (Irv) peers up and around the room. Is there any sign of what might have killed them?
(21:17:31) (Dave) No sound in the western room.
(21:17:42) (Irv): "I have no desire to search these rotting bodies."
(21:17:56) (Drax_Greybeard): opens the west door
(21:18:02) (Dave) Scanning the room visually, there doesn't appear to be any obvious hint as to the cause of death.
(21:18:15) (Irv) closes the eastern door and joins Drax.
(21:18:24) (Drax_Greybeard): holds his torch just inside the door for a better look
(21:18:56) (Drax_Greybeard): [provided the west door is not locked.]
(21:19:02) (Dave) Drax opens the door to the west. Inside the room, a human male wearing plate mail was resting and rises to his feet, brandishing a sword. "Who goes there?" he asks.
(21:19:21) (Drax_Greybeard): "Just a friendly dwarf and elf."
(21:19:31) (Drax_Greybeard): "Ya be a friend er foe?"
(21:19:43) (Dave) "Friendly. Ye not be evil?" he asks.
(21:20:02) (Irv): "Greetings! I am Irving the Implausible, and this is my companion, Drax!"
(21:20:18) (Drax_Greybeard): "Evil never."
(21:20:38) (Irv): "We seek to vanquish evil!"
(21:20:44) (Drax_Greybeard): "I mean no ill intent to anyone less they be evil."
(21:21:12) (Dave) "I am Treylerin Sunshield. I have been exploring this dungeon and just stopped in this room to rest."
(21:21:42) (Irv): "Would you care to join us, Treylerin Sunshield?"
(21:21:45) (Drax_Greybeard): "A good plan as I am fairly well injured and could use a rest."
(21:21:45) (Dave) "My vow is to vanquish evil," he says, studying the pair. "Ye seem alright," he admits.
(21:22:14) (Drax_Greybeard): "That yer handy work in the eastern room? Killin all them gobs?"
(21:22:38) (Dave) "A partnership?" he wonders aloud. "Maybe we could work out some arrangement."
(21:22:53) (Dave) To Drax, he does claim responsibility for the golbins.
(21:23:15) (Dave): "They're pesky opponents," he admits.
(21:23:22) (Drax_Greybeard): "Good work anyone that does that ta gobs is a friend ta me."
(21:23:23) (Irv): "Of course you would receive a full share of treasure received from this point forward. It would be only fair."
(21:23:41) (Irv): "And impressive piece of work, vanquishing all those goblins!"
(21:23:57) (Irv): s/An/And/
(21:24:06) (Irv): Other way around. Too much wine. ;)
(21:24:20) (Drax_Greybeard): maybe not enough wine
(21:24:29) (Dave) "There were so many of them."

"I agree," he says. "Let us partner."
(21:24:57) (Drax_Greybeard): "Don't suppose ya be a healer too eh?"
(21:24:59) (Dave): "Where to?" he asks.
(21:24:59) (Irv): "How much of this mountain have you already explored?"
(21:25:50) (Drax_Greybeard): stands there bleeding a bit from his injury
(21:26:18) (Irv): (Probably not a healer if he's carrying a sword)
(21:26:33) (Drax_Greybeard): [so what paladins can heal :P]
(21:26:58) (Irv): (No paladins in B/X)
(21:27:01) (Drax_Greybeard): [not that they really exist in this]
(21:27:08) (Drax_Greybeard): [yeah i know]
(21:27:36) (Dave): "Not much," he admits. "I paid a coin to pass by a pair of strange bandits at the entrance. Then chased a threesome of humans carrying a chest, but they could out run me in my armor and all. Then vanquished the goblins across the hall, before stopping to rest here."
(21:27:38) (Drax_Greybeard): [just like how we are a class not a race ha]
(21:28:05) (Irv): "Well, then, let us continue north and investigate the next door!"
(21:28:16) (Drax_Greybeard): "Eh we took care of them with the chest but they hurt me and killed our friend."
(21:29:57) (Dave): (Sorry, he is wearing chain mail.)

"Lead the way," he says.
(21:30:13) (Irv) leads the way.
(21:31:08) (Drax_Greybeard): follows
(21:31:13) (Irv) listens at the door when he reaches it.
(21:31:29) (Drax_Greybeard): acts as a look out again
(21:31:33) (Dave) The group moves north, passing the corridor that splits off the the west in favor of the door just a bit further ahead on the eastern wall.
(21:32:13) (Irv): (Pirates beat Mets 3-2 in 10)
(21:32:56) (Dave) Some faint sounds are heard beyond this door, but what the sounds are, or what is causing them, are impossible to tell.
(21:33:05) (Dave): (Dang Pirates.)
(21:33:18) (Irv): :)
(21:33:46) (Irv): "Drax, would you be so good as to open this door? I will stand with bow at the ready to attack whatever is beyond!"
(21:33:47) (Dave): (Although, I kind of hope they just beat each other up. The Cubs are chasing the Pirates, and being chased by the Mets.)
(21:34:07) (Drax_Greybeard): opens the door preparing to die
(21:34:14) (Dave): Hahahaha
(21:34:17) (Dave): He dies.
(21:34:22) (Dave): j/k
(21:34:30) (Drax_Greybeard): :D
(21:34:37) (Irv): (Cubs are as good a choice as any for 2nd wild card spot. I just want the WC game to be in Pittsburgh.)
(21:34:58) (Irv): (Pretty much zero chance anyone but the Cards wins the division)
(21:35:03) (Drax_Greybeard): [doesn't care about baseball] ....
(21:35:04) (Dave) Inside the room, a single orc, with a sword and shield, is huddled in the corner.
(21:35:31) (Irv): Is it huddling from anything?
(21:35:38) (Drax_Greybeard): [gimme hockey and football and I'm good]
(21:35:40) (Dave): (Cardinals up 3=0.) #jerks
(21:36:13) (Drax_Greybeard): "Think I'm better off taking up me bow."
(21:36:28) (Dave): (I like hockey, especially playoff hockey.

I love football and baseball.)
(21:36:58) (Irv): (Big on hockey—I play, badly—especially college.)
(21:37:00) (Dave) There is nothing else in the room, so the orc appears to be huddling as far away from the entrance as possible.
(21:37:08) (Drax_Greybeard): steps to the side and tosses the torch into the room
(21:37:28) (Dave) The orc draws its sword.
(21:37:36) (Drax_Greybeard): sets his shield over his pack and takes out his bow and nocks and arrow
(21:37:42) (Irv): "I mistrust this."
(21:38:18) (Irv): "Foul orc! Why do you huddle so?"
(21:38:18) (Drax_Greybeard): "As do I elf."
(21:38:55) (Dave) The orc grows defensive, and snarls.
(21:39:05) (Dave) Initiative - Drax
(21:39:09) ChatBot: (Dave) rolls 1d6 and gets 3.
(21:39:17) (Drax_Greybeard): [only sport I ever played was basketball.]
(21:39:21) ChatBot: (Drax_Greybeard) rolls 1d6 and gets 2.
(21:39:26) (Drax_Greybeard): drat
(21:40:25) (Dave) Treylerin hasn't even shown himself, and stands guard in the hallway. The orc, faced with two opponents, chooses.... (1-3) Drax, (4-6) Irv.
(21:40:28) ChatBot: (Dave) rolls 1d6 and gets 2.
(21:40:44) (Drax_Greybeard): double drat
(21:40:47) (Dave) The orc lashes out with its long sword at the wounded dwarf.
(21:40:51) ChatBot: (Dave) rolls 1d20 and gets 3.
(21:40:59) (Dave) And misses badly.
(21:41:10) (Irv) unleashes an arrow.
(21:41:21) ChatBot: (Irv) rolls 1d20 and gets 9.
(21:41:24) (Irv): (+2)
(21:41:34) (Irv): (Hits AC 8)
(21:41:38) ChatBot: (Irv) rolls 1d6 and gets 6.
(21:41:55) (Drax_Greybeard): fires an arrow at the orc
(21:42:00) ChatBot: (Drax_Greybeard) rolls 1d20 and gets 14.
(21:42:06) ChatBot: (Drax_Greybeard) rolls 1d6 and gets 6.
(21:42:19) (Dave): Sorry, guys. It just started to storm here, and my girls just woke up.
(21:42:29) (Dave): BRB
(21:42:36) (Drax_Greybeard): kk np
(21:42:41) (Irv): No worries. Mid-combat break!
(21:45:35) (Drax_Greybeard): yup
(21:45:43) (Irv): AFK
(21:45:52) (Drax_Greybeard): had to let the pooch out anyways
(21:47:22) (Dave): Back. But also just received a text from my wife that she's on her way home.

I should be able to wrap up this room, but then might need to call it a night. :(
(21:47:43) (Drax_Greybeard): ok
(21:47:53) (Dave): Okay... just read what I missed and Drax killed the thing. LOL
(21:48:20) (Dave): Let's go a bit longer.
(21:48:37) (Drax_Greybeard): excellent
(21:48:51) (Drax_Greybeard): the dwarf looks very pleased in his kill
(21:48:52) (Irv): Heh.
(21:49:16) (Irv): Loot the body, etc. Any other doors we can see?
(21:49:25) (Dave) Examining the orc, you now notice a previous wound that is still fresh. Or was.
(21:49:51) (Dave) It did not have any treasure on it, aside from its weapons -- a long sword and a spear.
(21:49:53) (Drax_Greybeard): tries to salvage his arrow
(21:50:21) (Dave) In the center of the room, however, is a stone stair.
(21:50:44) (Irv): Up or down?
(21:50:50) (Dave) Or platform, which rises about a foot off the ground.
(21:51:43) (Irv): Does the orc's wound look like it was made by and edged weapon, or something else?
(21:51:54) (Dave) It is a cut.
(21:52:03) (Drax_Greybeard): walks to the torch and picks it up as well
(21:52:13) (Irv): Anything on the platform?
(21:52:32) (Dave) Nothing appears to be on the platform.
(21:52:52) (Irv): Anything over the platform?
(21:53:36) (Dave) Looking up, you spy a trap door in the ceiling with a thin, rope pull.
(21:54:03) ChatBot: AleBelly logs into the Chat.
(21:54:13) AleBelly: how's it going?
(21:54:13) (Irv): Does the rope hang down low enough to be pulled from the platform?
(21:54:16) (Drax_Greybeard): don't pull it
(21:54:29) (Drax_Greybeard): let me leave the room first if you do
(21:54:40) (Dave) Yes.

But, I hate to do it, I need to run, guys.
(21:54:49) (Irv): Well, drat.
(21:54:51) (Dave): Wife is driving in the rain and in a panic. Wants me to talk with her.
(21:54:59) (Drax_Greybeard): thats ok Dave
(21:55:07) (Irv): We can hang out here for a while if you might be back.
(21:55:16) (Dave): I actually have another 5-10 minutes.
(21:55:25) (Dave): I'll just be a bit distracted.
(21:55:31) (Irv): Okay.
(21:56:03) (Drax_Greybeard): fine by me
(21:56:07) (Irv) ties his rope to the rope pull hanging from the trap door, then backs up out of the room, unrolling his rope.
(21:56:20) (Irv) pulls the rope once everyone is out of the room.
(21:56:44) (Irv): And hi, Alebelly. You've missed a fun game.
(21:57:04) (Drax_Greybeard): the dwarf leaves the room in a hurry
(21:57:19) (Drax_Greybeard): "Alright elf go ahead an pull the rope if ya are."
(21:57:28) AleBelly: Yeah, but at least my dryer works now. I was going to see how much longer you all were going to play and try to roll up a character if possible. Glad it's been fun!
(21:57:46) (Irv): We should definitely do this again sometime.
(21:58:02) (Irv): Built-in dice roller isn't all it could be, but it does the job.
(21:58:20) (Drax_Greybeard): yeah it does work well enough to get by at least
(21:58:28) AleBelly: yeah, i'd be interested...
(21:58:55) (Drax_Greybeard): I'd be up for it again as well
(21:58:55) AleBelly: alright, well I'll quit clogging up your feed gents
(21:58:58) (Irv): What was wrong with your dryer?
(21:59:12) (Irv): You aren't clogging anything. Dave's distracted anyway.
(22:00:24) (Drax_Greybeard): yeah Dave's busy
(22:00:32) (Drax_Greybeard): on the phone with his wifey
(22:00:45) ChatBot: AleBelly has been logged out (Timeout).
(22:02:25) (Drax_Greybeard): well so much for that then
(22:03:03) (Dave): Sorry, girls woke up again and came downstairs.
(22:03:08) (Irv): Irv should gather all the loot and cast Detect Magic on it.
(22:03:14) (Dave): Had to get them earplugs and try to settle them back down.
(22:03:28) (Drax_Greybeard): that's alright
(22:03:31) (Irv): Aw. Storms are no fun.
(22:03:32) (Drax_Greybeard): I have kids
(22:03:33) (Dave): I probably have about 10 minutes until the wife gets home.
(22:03:36) (Drax_Greybeard): so i know how it goes
(22:03:43) (Dave): So... the platform and the rope.
(22:03:58) (Drax_Greybeard): yeah and Drax left the room
(22:04:09) (Drax_Greybeard): so he doesn't get harmed if the elf triggers a trap
(22:04:13) (Dave): Ahh, too bad. This was kind of fun.
(22:04:19) (Dave): Oh.
(22:04:33) (Irv): Elf's pulling it from the doorway.
(22:04:33) (Dave): Hahahaha! Ed is still here. Drax, the character, left the room.
(22:04:37) (Dave): Got it.
(22:04:47) (Drax_Greybeard): yup
(22:04:49) (Irv): Ha!
(22:04:56) ChatBot: (Drax_Greybeard) is now known as (Ed).
(22:04:59) (Ed): :P
(22:05:08) (Ed) runs away
(22:05:33) ChatBot: (Ed) is now known as (Drax).
(22:05:55) (Drax) watches from the doorway as Irv pulls the rope
(22:06:02) (Dave) Irv pulls the rope and releases the trap door....
(22:06:10) (Dave) Nothing happens.
(22:06:28) (Irv): Nothing? The trap door doesn't open?
(22:06:37) (Irv): Or the door opens and nothing else happens?
(22:06:45) (Drax): cautiously enters the room again
(22:06:46) (Dave) Irv can see a room above, though.
(22:06:54) (Drax): "Eh what happened?"
(22:07:11) (Irv) drags the orc's body onto the platform.
(22:07:34) (Dave) Orc body is on the platform.
(22:07:39) (Drax): "Thats a great ladder yah have there Irv."
(22:08:12) (Irv): "I wanted to determine whether the platform is rigged based on having a body on it."
(22:08:28) (Irv) climbs the rope.
(22:08:36) (Dave) Irv climbs the rope.
(22:08:53) (Drax): [doesn't have that feat or NWP :P]
(22:09:04) (Dave): (whispers to (Irv)) And finds himself in a small, empty 10'x15' room.
(22:09:13) (Irv): This isn't 2e. :P
(22:09:15) (Drax): [j/k]
(22:09:22) (Drax): i know
(22:09:30) (Drax): and a feat would be newer than 2e
(22:09:32) (Dave): (whispers to (Irv)) There is a single passage heading west out of this room.
(22:09:41) (Drax): feats 3e +
(22:09:55) (Irv): "Come on up!"
(22:09:58) (Drax): the dwarf watches the elf climb the rope
(22:10:16) (Drax): "Eh ok what about our new friend?"
(22:10:23) (Dave): I wish there was a way to e-mail a transcript of a chat session like this. That would be pretty cool.
(22:10:27) (Irv) heads west when everyone else has climbed up.
(22:10:35) (Irv): That would be good.
(22:10:38) (Drax): climbs up the rope
(22:10:49) (Drax): yeah that would be a good feature
(22:11:11) (Irv): You can highlight and copy it, at least in Firefox, from what I can tell.
(22:11:37) (Dave) Drax finds himself in a small, empty 10'x15' room, with a single passage heading west out of it.

Heading west, a door appears after 15' feet.
(22:11:54) (Dave): [garage door]
(22:11:57) (Irv) listens at the door
(22:11:59) (Dave): My time is up in a second here...
(22:12:08) (Drax): alright
(22:12:09) (Dave) No sound.
(22:12:23) (Dave): This was definitely fun, though. I love dungeon crawls.
(22:12:25) (Irv): Sounds like we need to wrap up.
(22:12:34) (Dave): Unfortunately.
(22:12:35) (Drax): [chrome allows for the same highlight copy function]
