Greetings and salutations!
Hi there!
I am very keen to try out PbP, having recently gotten back into tabletop gaming in recent months.
I started with the Red Box in the early 80's, played that and AD&D 1st and 2nd editions all through high school. I stopped playing when I hit university, apart from one session of 3.5.
Recently, a group of dads (myself counted among them) started playing ACKS, and we're loving it. The downside to parents playing games is that it only happens once every two weeks. Hopefully this forum can help scratch the itch more often!
I'm completely new to PbP, so I'll be digging in and learning all I can.
Cheers,
Nick

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

welcome! Enjoy your stay--to quote an ancient sage: "When playing PbP games, you can check out any time you like...but you can never leave."
Re: Greetings and salutations!
PbP does scratch the itch, but in a different way. Do take the time to start slow and ease into it, though, because it is easy to overload yourself with things that sound cool but don't fit what you want.

Greetings Nick glad to have another person here.
the more active players the better.

Or they may fit what you want, but you realize you have committed to more than you have time for. Start slowly and add games as you get a feel for how much time you need for what you are currently playing. On the bright side, there are always cool new games getting added. If you aren't able to add another game right then there will be something else later on when you are. The down side is that there are always cool new games getting added.Q.Q Elf wrote:PbP does scratch the itch, but in a different way. Anyway, welcome. I was new to PbF when I started two months ago, but it is pretty easy to pick up. There are plenty of good games, some of which are always looking to add more people. Have fun.
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Welcome, Nick. You're in good company here, so hopefully you can find a good fit and jump right in. Play-by-post does take some getting used to, but it's definitely worth it.
Enjoy, man.
