Fish Stories (Shawn Spencer)

It's been a pretty good day of fishing. You stopped by the river a few hours ago to bathe and found a small flat bottom aluminum row boat that actually had a trolling motor hooked up to a hydrogen fuel cell. And it was all operational! Taking this as a sign of good luck you troll up the river a ways and start throwing your hook and line out. You move around quite a bit but eventually troll into a spillway and start pulling in a mess of good sized crape fish.
The fish might as well be jumping in the boat, you catch so many.

As Shawn is thinking about dinner and admiring the limestone cliffs surrounding his boat he spies a small private dock with wooden railroad tie steps leading up a steep climb to an abandoned home the surrounding woods are trying hard to reclaim.
The dock has has skinning table and roughly 10 feet of bank before being swallowed by trees or slippery boulders. A little further upstream is a run down wooden shack, but it has no dock

That dock looks promisingHe thinks, as he attepts to pull up and tie off with the intention of cleaning a fish and building a small fire on thebeach to cook over.

Shawn pulls up to the rickety old dock and ties off.
As soon as you dump the bucket of Crape onto the cleaning table, you can hear a shot fired from the house above.
Moments later a dark skinned man comes tumbling down the wooden stairs. It is obvious he has been shot and his neck is now at a very odd angle.
You hear a sound come from above again that sounds like a mechanical Click Click....Click Click Then a rustling in the trees.

Quickly and quietly shawn moves to the beach to the left of the stairs and draws his sword.

Will wait to strike, if the oncomer makes to attack, i wil hammer it with a heat blast, before engaging. If i can

Shawn slinks into the shadow,placing the dock between himself and the stairs. As he watches a small monkey looking creature carrying a rifle glides down the stairs on wind flaps under its arms. It's a Yazirian!
He stoops over the dead man, sniffs at him, pokes him with the barrel of his rifle, then searches through the man's pockets. Seeming to find what he was looking for, the Yazirian turns to climb back up the stairs then stops and taking a last look around seems to spot the pile of fish on the cleaning table.

"Whoa there chewbacca, those are mine, and I would appreciate your leaving them ha-lone" Shawn says, in a not unfriendly tone.

If he leaves, i let him and give it soke time before emerging

He looks around sniffing the air (and probably only smelling fish ) He eyeballs the boat and holds his rifle tight, scanning the woods. Confident he is alone, heads to the boat on the dock.

"Hang on there Ceasar." Shawn says as he steps out of the shadows. "My boat, my fish, I am not opposed to sharing and a little talk, but if this is going the gangsters in the mist route... we have a problem."

If the Yazirian aims at him shawn will blast with the heat generation then engage

The Yazirian freezes without turning.
"Fishes stink" he hisses.
"You keeps them." he holds the rifle out to his side and looks over his shoulder.
"You stupid humans." he cackles and grips his rifle again not pointing it.
"A sword is what youre threatening me with? Keep fish, but I think I'll take that battery in the boat. Yes?"

"No, I do not think so.." Shawn says as he steps up on the dock. "I don't NEED a gun, I have other talents." He taps the side of his head for emphasis. "Come lets be cordial, I will cook up some fish and you can tell me about yourself." Still trying to defuse the situation without giving away his newly acquired suff.

The Yazirian seems to be weighing his options then comes to a conclusion and gives what you guess is a smile.
"Fine then. Keep your power cell. I've got one like that anyway. But I don't have time for idle chat."
He looks up the stairs behind you to the house and sort of seems to nod in that direction as he talks.
"And don't let me catch you following me neither!"
His eyes dart behind you up the stairs again. He seems to be waiting for something. Perhaps just for you to let him leave...

"I wouldn't dream of it, my simian acquaintance." Shawn says as he steps to the side to let the Yazirian by, keeping a wary eye on him. "Though, I might be of assistance to you, if you need it." He smiles and cocks his head inquisitivly.

"No. I don't need no help from a stinkin human. Just lemme past."
The alien goes to the steps, looks back at you, and starts to wobble his way up.

"Suit your self cornelius." Shawn watches him go up the stairs, then collects his lunch and heads back out onto the water. " No need to tempt fate." Looking for a better place to make lunch.

Across the river is an old shack or if you travel farther down the river you come across a few rock beaches where people obviously make campfires in the past.

As you pull onto the beach you hear a hollow thump under your seat. Investigation reveals a box of lures, a skinning board and filet knife. A little moldy but in good shape.
The beach is a small island in the river with some over growth and a ring of stones surrounding a long dead camp fire. Someone was nice enough to pull a large log over for a seat.
Over the din of the river you can hear rustling and then cursing echoing from across the water in the trees on the far shore. Sounds like your primate friend followed you but you are well out of range.
