Mordred Slain by Giant Robber Flies that ambushed him on the way back to the Wall after saving several citizens of the Refuge from the clutches of Mamba, a Handmaiden of the Succubus Queen Viper

Mordred can Turn Undead as a cleric of his level, but with a penalty to the turning roll. The penalty is at the moment unknown, someone (possibly Kasper) will need to study the Mark to know for sure. Astrid's penalty was at -4. When learning new spells, Mordred may at any time (including after he has learned of his failure!) draw upon the power of the Mark to immediately learn the spell he is studying. When casting a spell, he may choose to draw upon the power of the Mark to enhance it. If the spell scales based on caster level, he will cast the spell as if he is one level higher. If the spell has a saving throw, the target will make it at a -1 penalty.
Mordred also suffers a -1 penalty on saving throws against any spell cast by a cleric or shaman of the Kinslayer, or cast by Mamba herself.
Everytime Mordred draws upon the power of the Mark, I will roll a 1d6. If a 1 comes up, Mordred's Turn Undead penalty goes down by 1, and the bonuses to his spellcasting increase by 1. If that penalty ever reaches zero...

Re: Kinslayer Player Characters
Two random scenes taken out of the life of Luca Silvercharm
- Charitable deception -
A man and a halfling can be seen unloading food from a cart. They are surrounded by villagers who seem down on their luck and are very appreciative of the gifts given to them.
’’Luca Silvercharm is the name. May this food fill your bellies and show you there are still men willing to do good in this world,’’ the man proclaims, his smile dazzling the gathered crowd.
’’But sir,’’ the halfling says, slightly confused by his words while handing out food. ’’Shouldn’t we be mentioning that this food comes from the baron?’’
’’My dear friend Frederico, you know I always value your input, but you’re focusing on the wrong thing here. These people don’t care where the food comes from, and neither should you. Just look at all those smiles. We’re doing a good deed here. Aren’t you filled with joy to have a job like this?’’ Luca responds, standing on the cart and occasionally handing out items, while Frederico does most of the work.
’’Well, uh, yes, sir, of course, I’m happy to help these people. But this food isn’t from us. You told the baron that this would do wonders for his image in these parts of his lands. Yet you keep saying your own name and haven’t mentioned the baron even once,’’ he says, struggling to lift a heavy box of apples from the back of the cart to the front, so people can take apples out of it.
’’The baron practically begged me to do this. I’m even doing this at a reduced rate for him, which is why I had to give you a little pay cut for this trip. We’re doing this out of the goodness of our hearts, not for the gold. Those are just expenses. We’re practically doing this for free,’’ Luca replies, his charm unwavering as he gives special attention to specific villagers he fancies.
’’But, um, I get reduced pay? Oh, well, but I thought you went to him and convinced him that this is what he should do and that the villagers were planning to riot. These people don’t look like rioters to me. Also, how...’’ the little man says before being cut off by Luca.
’’When you’re right, you’re right. I always value your opinion and truly take it to heart. I wouldn’t know what to do without your sense of righteousness. The next person who asks where this comes from, I’ll make sure they understand it’s from him,’’ Luca solemnly swears, standing upright and placing his hand over his heart, making a gallant nod to the halfling.
Frederico stands a bit uncomfortable with the etiquette shown to him. ’’Well, um, I think, I mean, thank you, sir, for doing the right thing,’’ he says, processing what Luca has said and realizing something in his words. ’’Sir, why would they ask if they don’t even know the baron is involved with this?’’ he asks, confused.
’’Time for entertainment while you indulge in the food I brought to your doorsteps!’’ Luca loudly announces this to the villagers as he grabs his mandolin and starts to perform. Meanwhile, Frederico continues working on handing out the last crates of food while the music plays.

- Getting good with the family -
A man can be seen, still sitting at the bar of a tavern with an almost finished mug of ale in his hands after closing hours. The tavern is dimly lit, with only a few candles casting flickering shadows on the walls. Behind the bar, a young woman is cleaning mugs, her hands moving deftly while she talks to him.
’’If that crossbow means that much to you, why don’t you just go back and ask for it? I don’t even get why you want that thing. Just get another. It doesn’t matter if it’s good or not, your aim is terrible no matter how well the weapon.’’ she chuckles, her laughter light and teasing.
’’Well, maybe it isn’t the weapon per se, but it has this hidden compartment you see, and it contains something valuable to me.’’ the man explains, his eyes twinkling with a mix of mischief and sincerity.
’’Please tell me it contains the gold to pay me back.’’ she quickly responds, her tone shifting to one of mock seriousness.
’’My lovely Natasja, you know I’m good for it. From all the people I owe money to, you are the one most deserving. Let’s not get distracted from the topic at hand.’’ he grins, leaning back on his stool, his voice smooth and charming. ’’It’s just not that simple. The man of the house decided to shoot me with my own crossbow. Can you believe that! The bolt went right into my butt, and I would have bled out if it weren’t for the loving couple I met dragging my near-dead body down the road.’’
Natasja sighs, ’’You deserved getting shot.’’ she says, shaking her head, a wry smile playing on her lips.
’’Deserved? Me? Sure, there may have been an incident, but nothing that we couldn’t talk out like civilized men. Definitely not worth trying to kill me!’’ he responds, placing a hand dramatically over his heart as if deeply insulted.
’’Did it involve either his wife or daughter?’’ she asks, her gaze piercing, not willing to accept a lie.
’’Well, yes, but not in the way you think. Really.’’ he says, holding his hands up in innocence, his expression earnest.
’’Yes, you deserved it, and no, I do not need to know what happened. Really, Luca, for a man so charismatic he could charm a loyal animal out of a druid’s control, you sure are the biggest idiot I have ever met.’’ she says, handing him a freshly filled mug of ale despite knowing better.
’’Wow, where is this coming from? It’s me you are talking about. Me, Luca, the man who saved the prettiest dipper the streets have ever seen.’’ he counters, raising an eyebrow.
’’Firstly, I do not steal anymore, so don’t call me that. Secondly, when will you ever learn? And before you respond, listen for once. You can have it all, all the skills in the world, and you still live from day to day. I picked myself up from the streets, yes, it was with your help, but now I not only run a tavern but more importantly, I can sleep with both eyes closed. You are still pulling gaffs on mugu and pigeons wherever you go. You’re not even doing it for the gold anymore. Look at you, you are still wasting your gold on fancy clothing while having nothing useful on your body. Where are your weapons? Some armor to keep you safe? You don’t even own some rations to keep you alive on the road. You’re a drifter pretending to be doing great, but in reality, you still live from day to day without ever thinking two steps ahead. Your luck is going to run out someday. Your looks will dwindle, and your charms will lose their effect the more people start to recognize you. Face it, Luca, it is time for change.’’ she lectures him, but a hint of compassion can be heard in her voice, her eyes softening.
Luca responds with a grin, ’’First of all, my looks are eternal; I just need to find the right potion for when the time comes I get old. Second, well, maybe you are right. You know what? I will get good with that family and get that crossbow back. Maybe even adventure for a while with honest, upstanding people who follow some cause they care deeply about. Bet it will do me good.’’ he says, straightening his back to sit upright as if an epiphany just hit him.
’’If you are serious about that, I might actually be able to help you. I heard of this Lupine who is searching for the youngest you were talking about earlier. Maybe if you help them reunite, the nobles might consider taking you back in.’’ she says, her willingness to help evident.
’’So if I butter up the Lupine and help him find his friend, I could trick them into allowing me back into their lives. Make up a story how I am trying to better my life. What a fantastic idea.’’ he smiles in surprise.
’’No trick, Luca,’’ she says sternly. ’’It’s not a scam, it is the truth. You ARE trying to get back in good with the family. You ARE trying to better your life and you WOULD actually be helping him find his friend. Really, Luca, truth to you is like holy water to a vampire. And no, don’t start about your jealousy of creatures who can magically influence someone’s mind. It’s not a good thing.’’ Natasja says, already regretting she is helping him.
’’The truth, you say? That might actually work and is definitely worth trying out. Can’t hurt to try new things. What would I ever do without you, Nat?’’ he says with a charming smile.
’’I’ll set something up for you. But, its getting late and time for you to go home. My father hates you, remember? I don’t want you hanging around here by the time he wakes up in the morning.’’ Natasja says.
’’Home? Can’t remember ever owning one. Why don’t I stay with you tonight? Besides, you never know if this is the last time you’ll see me. It is dangerous on the road and see, no weapons to defend myself.’’ he says, standing up and showing his empty pockets.
’’Luca...I guess you’re right. One of these days I will get a message of your passing. Might as well enjoy it while I can. But you will leave through the window before father wakes up and no breakfast.’’ she grins.
’’Breakfast is still far away. No need for any rash decisions.’’ Luca chuckles as he follows her upstairs.

Re: Kinslayer Player Characters
Akiri Feralis is a bit of a wild child. She is a chaotic druid who is always optimistic, but very easily distracted.
Like all druids, she has a knack with animals. Except for her it's even more than that. She can get very aggressive when an animal is mistreated.
In cities she can easily run off after a stray cat when left alone. She does however value teamwork. Like a pack in the wild, she feels comfortable moving in between as long as it is clear what everyone's job is. Her love for animals does not mean she doesn't eat meat. it's just that she is very careful which animal should be hunted and which should be protected within a specific region.
If she feels a particular animal shouldn't be hunted, she won't allow it to be killed. Aside from that, she never feels the need to challenge anyone.
