Just noticing that this is up and running. I'll get started on character generation later today, time permitting.

Tamerlaine: How are you dealing with encumbrance? Are we being strict or loosey goosey? If the latter, in what way?

(I'm happy to play encumbrance by the book, tracking weights closely.)

I’m going to start the game with the finished characters arriving at Thatchum one at a time. If you want and if agreed beforehand, characters can arrive together and that’s squarely on you.

So I have introduced my character in the general forum.

I wanted to ask Tamerlaine if we could have what admin call 'private forums'. This means one for each player and you need one for your DM notes. That way we can keep a behind the scenes record of our characters, record vital information, ask ooc questions and the like. I find them super useful in games.

Sorry for my lack of response sad I was away dealing with my mother-in-law and her worsening dementia. I’ll try and catch up on my end tonight.

My pc should be fine and hopefully accepted.

My wife's grandmother is on her last legs in the hospital and should be a rough week.

Keep y'all posted.

So sorry to hear about that, Tamerlaine. I work as a home care assistant and often deal with clients suffering from dementia. It's such a dreadful disease and so hard for the family. My thoughts go out to you and yours

Sorry about your grandmother, Tarlyn. My thoughts go out to you and your family as well. I hope it's a peaceful transition and that she's led a good, happy, long life.

May I follow this up and agree such private forums are a great resource for players and DM's and are super useful for keeping ooc records and notes

She passed early this morning............

She lived almost 95 years (Her birthday would have been May 26th which made it really hard for my wife's family.)

Sorry for my absence. My son's baseball season is ramping up and the dog went into heat. It's been crazy.

Tarlyn, I am so sorry for your loss. Despite their generational flaws*, grandmother's are the best.

And Tamerlaine: all the best to you and your mother-in-law. I don't know what your level of experience with dementia is, but Teepa Snow, an Occupational Therapist from West Virginia has a LOT of great tips. I was fortunate enough to attend one of her workshops where I used to work. Here is some of what she has to offer. Lots of great insight for care partners.

Anyhow, I'll get to posting in the game thread ASAP.

This is not starting out well and it’s my fault. It’s 2:08 am and I just got home from the ER. I was having trouble breathing and I put it off too long thinking it were just allergies. Nope, I’ve got fluid around my lungs and I’m scheduled to see my cardiologist on Monday.

I’m going to get some sleep and get back on track later in the day. Sorry for the inconvenience.
