The Ruins of Zug
The party sets out in the morning, the guide is true, and the food, as ordered, is waiting for the party. It is three days, the road going to a path, and then a hunting track. The guide is highly useful, as the land quickly becomes a boggy swamp, thankfully little in the way of biting insects.
Then you come to a clearing, and the party goes quiet.
The old fort is still there, the walls where 10 meters tall at one time, and now range from 1 to 9, with felled stone laying around. And the evening fires are start to be lighted. It appears that there is a few trolls and many goblins and orcs. You can see that where the main keep was, that there is some sort of guarded door to some sort of tunnel complex. There are too many for a all out assault, however there may be other options, and also one might need to scout out the ruins.

OOC: What time of the day is it? Also, without asking too much, can we have a rough map of the surroundings as seen from our position?
Re: The Ruins of Zug
The two leprechauns are willing to do some scouting.

Celyon looks intrigued by the ruins, and scratches his chin for a while. He tries to meet the eyes of Udulf, who does his best to avoid his gaze. Finally he says: "Well, Udulf, what are you waiting for? We need to know what is ahead of us!"
"Of course my lord." answers the servant, not looking really enthused by the prospect. But he immediately joins the leprechauns to help them.
OOC: Did we recover the lost CON during the travel?

The Red X is the party
Green area is bog area, very slow moving.
there is the castle, and the square area is the guarded door. You will need to scout some more to have the map filled in.

Re: The Ruins of Zug
Sandy Bob is happy to welcome the largest of the scouts and sets of to the top end of the map, wanted to use the dusk and any tree cover to conceal their approach, skirting the bogs (despite his sense of 'home' as he sees them).

Seeing the ogre with his back turned to him, Bob sauntered up, whistling Auld Lang Syne, and then asked the ogre if he knew the way to the buried treasure.
Meanwhile H-Block Wink-Winged on to his neck and drove his dagger deep into the brain via his ear...

Are you SURE you want to attack when I have indicated that there is no way for the party to hold off the current small company of troops located right now?Khaboom wrote:Seeing the ogre with his back turned to him, Bob sauntered up, whistling Auld Lang Syne, and then asked the ogre if he knew the way to the buried treasure.

---------------------
The scouts show 20 orcs, 5 trolls, and some other beast of unknown type, but it looks foul and has wings. As the scouting is finished, one of the trolls takes 5 orcs and marches away from both Zug and the party, leaving 15 orcs and 4 trolls and the unknown beast. The Troll and orc seem to be well armed, as if they are a war party.
Also, you see a cage, with a number of the more gentle folk (Humans, elves, and smaller types) being held in a square cage. You are not sure if they are being held for slaves, or dinner.

Re: The Ruins of Zug
Feeling that the two little scouts accompanying him are plotting something shifty, Udulf suddenly panics and grabs them both before they can put into motion their macabre imagination. "Let's assess the situation first, little ones. I'm sure there will be plenty of time for bold actions very soon!"Khaboom wrote:Seeing the ogre with his back turned to him, Bob sauntered up, whistling Auld Lang Syne, and then asked the ogre if he knew the way to the buried treasure.

Re: The Ruins of Zug
Sandy and H took this as being a helpful act. 'You're a swell fella, an' all,' said H. Then they went in to planning mode, drawing hip flasks and offering their co-conspiritor a nip of something peaty with a hint of shamrock.
Re: The Ruins of Zug
"Okay, maybe one of you can quietly go around this castle, and check what force is guarding the entrance. We will whistle if we see someone go your way or spot you from above, so that you can wink wing back here quickly. Who volunteers?" says Udulf with an imperious tone that the little leprechauns could find a bit out of character.

'You might want to put your crown on when you start talking big like that, Dulfie,' says Bob with a grin. 'OK, we're your man for the raid on the big, bad guys, aren't we so, H?'

Re: The Ruins of Zug
You see that the dusk meal is ended, and it appears that some are prepping for some sort of "moving out". However you do not know which way, and at the current time, the party would be seen if a group marches towards the group.

Sandy Bob picks out a likely lad and asks what the plans are and where they're going now.
Re: The Ruins of Zug
Udulf asks the rest of the company staying behind to take cover behind the nearest bog area, and stays on the side, attempting to conceal himself while at the same time keep line of sight of his lep' companions, or at least the castle.

Most of the party hides, however, Sandy Bob walks out and parlays with the group.
"What is your Kind doing here, we don't remember you being a part of Master Maser army." The war-band starts to sniff the air and look around.

Udulf rolls his eyes but does not want to intervene just yet. He keeps observing.
