Joxe grew up on Muan Gwi. Her parents were a pair of teenaged lovers who never married. She was given up for adoption, and she became entangled in what passed for the planet’s social services system.
Joxe started her career with a subsector-sized merchant line. Her career was going well – until she ran afoul of a by-the-book captain. Joxe had made a serious error in allowing a subordinate to sign off a maintenance procedure while she was sleeping off a drinking binge. She had been summarily drummed out of the service, although they did allow her to take some money with her. She’d drifted aimlessly for several months, drunk most of the time, until an ex-bounty hunter had found her. He was twenty years older than Joxe, but he got her sober, and soon they were lovers.
They were married by some ship captain on the passage to her new home, and they settled into the quiet life of running a small store. Barely a year later, though, Joxe’s husband collapsed and died of a massive stroke. She was left alone, and was still trying to figure out what to do next when the letter arrived.

Gender: Female
Height: 4' 11" (151 cm)
Hair color: Very light ash blonde
Eye color: grayish-blue (looks a bit violet sometimes, depending on the lighting)
I see her as coming from a lower-middle class family living on an
otherwise affluent world (Argent).
She took up the merchant career to get herself away from the bleak
circumstances of her family and neighborhood.
It was all going fine until her merchant line went bankrupt...
...and now she's quickly running out of money and um...between jobs.
Tamaki looks small and dainty. She a very pale complexion that doesn't
stand up well to the sun. You think she'd be a bit on the sickly side by
looking at her, but she's actually quite healthy (END A).
She also doesn't seem to be the sort of person that makes a stereotypical
pilot, but, given her above average DEX ( 8 ), she performs quite well.
She's more interested in the medical field, however.
In her squalid old town back home, she saw too many people suffer way too
much for lack of medical care. By serving in that capacity, Tamaki
somehow feels like she's leveling the scales in a strange way.
She's friendly, yet tends to be a touch reserved, especially when she's
around people she doesn't know. Her "humble" background embarrasses her
at times, especially when she's around "high society" people.
Still, it comes in handy at times, since it gave her some understanding of
the "underbelly" of society (Streetwise-1).
Like anyone else, Tamaki has her share of quirks.
She likes to keep her workstations "just so". Messing with them is an
easy way to get her annoyed.
