Being a fast forward of the game...

You have sucessfully avoided the glitching robot, which has for some unknown reason, retreated back to its charging station, and will not be part of the game henceforth!
I don't want to kill off the characters; this is supposed to be fun.

After the pause in hiding, you all look out over lab deck and find there is no one / nothing there. Being curious, and just slightly avaricious, everyone decided to see what is here. Also, you think that something here is really fishy, with all of the captured creatures, and seeing experiments being done in the globes. If you play your cards right, you all think you might get some kind of recognition for saving sentient from torture. More importantly, exposing who ever is doing this, and might get you a monetary reward, and a ticket off this miserable planet.

Feel free to look around the lab deck, as the killer robots have all been taken out of action (by command of the referee). Have fun, there are lots of interesting things on this deck. You should be able to pursuade Chiree that the information you gather will help the other (non-dangerous) creatures here as well. Knowledge is power, so go forth!

Jrec moved along with the others into area 4. He watches the rear, suspicious of a cunning trap by the suddenly disappearing robot.

Sorry I'm not more imaginative. I couldn't find the level map. Thought I better post something soon. Will do better next time :) .

Here you go. Investigating this area and the top lab deck might prove profitable...

Chriee agrees to wait awhile, since he knows this might help the other beings. Now that he is on the station, he isn't as paniced.

Area #4: is the security station: The transparent, enclosed area commands a view of the elevator capsule (2), the corridor (3), and the entrances to the sample reception area (6). It has a computer terminal and intercoms. A set of switches controls the emergency doors on the sample reception room.

Area #5: The air/raft garage. Accessed through the air/raft elevators, this area contains three air/rafts, one of which is partially dissambled and being repaired. The other two each bear the Imperial crest, and appear to be standard models.

Looking across the garage, you can see the air/raft garage maintenance area (#22). It is extremely cluttered with crates and boxes of supplies, primarily food, and business materials.

You have already visited rooms #6, and #7

Ringar walks down the short corridor to the door of Room 21. The sign on the door reads "Excursion Clothing Storage." The door opens easily and you find a room full of cold weather clothing and heat suits. You are sure that at least one suit would fit you.

Moving on to Room 23, which seems to have the same jumble of boxed supplies as Area 22.These boxes seem to have more useful items (not office supplies or shelf-stable food).

Do you, and anyone else go in and look around? If you do, roll 2d6 to see what you find.

Room 23:

On that roll, you find various boxes. Just randomly opening one, you are pleased to to find five auto pistols, each with five spare magazine. Unfortunately, there is no ammunition for them in the box.

You also find, off to one side, three coils of rope, each 100 meters in length.

Do you continue to look around?

"Looks like typical government procurement," he grunts. "Guns and mags but no bullets".

He takes one of the coils of rope. "I hope we don't need this. But we'd be dumb to pass it up."

Jrec then heads for Area 19.

Continuing to explore the Lab Deck...

Jrec grabs some rope, and moves on to #19. He finds these are crew quarters, a total of 16. They all have the same internal layout, a bed, a fresher, and storage areas. Only one seems to be in use, the double-sized room. There seems to be nothing of value in any of the rooms.

Meanwhile, Chiree, being shorter, has also been looking through the storage in room #23. He calls Ringar over to look at a crate he has found, located in one corner. Big box is heavy, maybe those bullets for the guns?

Ringar checks the packing label, and behold! It is a crate full of ammo for the pistols!

Assuming Maddox is following you, he also grabs a coil of rope as well. He notices a special container, with warnings on it. Upon opening it, he discovers it contains 100 m. of det. cord, complete with molded timer fuses at each end. The cord is very fine ( only a few mm. in diameter). When detonated, it is capable of cutting even structural steel. Perhaps it is for wrapping around a globe shaft and
severing it from the station.

So what do you do?

Maddox grabs up with rope and pauses for a moment before the det. cord. He thinks upon its potential for but an instant before scooping it up.

Nabs a pistol and 5 magazines. Looking at Maddox: Yeah, that cord is like duct tape, many uses.

Will move toward area 18.

OCC: any details on the auto pistol?

Whoever takes one of the 5 auto pistols (& 5 empty magazines each) will have to load said magazines with the ammo in the other crate.

Automatic Pistol: "The basic repeating handgun, firing caliber 9mm bullets (weighing ~10 grams each) at velocities of from 400 to 500 m/sec. A magazine containing 15 cartridges fits into the handle of the pistol, and one cartridge may be fired for each pull of the trigger."
To use, Dex 7+

n/a very long.
Damage= 3d6-3

(For those who are familar, it is very much like a Luger. We had one, a WWI officer's pistol, which I have fired. Until one day, it went "auto" and emptied the magazine. It was retired.)

Area 18: Observation Deck- The exterior wall of this location is transparent, and reveals a view of the sea. The entire area is carpeted, but empty.

What do you do?

Maddox will take one of the pistols with a set of magazines. He will then load the magazines, check the pistol and then heads into #19.

Takes the time to load the 5 magazines, slings his shotty and carries the newly found pistol as his primary weapon for now. He moves on to area 17.

Yeah, I had an SKS long gun that did that many moons ago. After having a smith look at it he indicated that it had "slam fire". This is where the firing pin does not retreat, as it should, into the bolt after the last round, so when it closes on the next round it fires it and the cycle repeats until your mag is empty. Yes, rather unnerving and unexpected.

Ringar moves on to Area #17.
Large Lounge and Recreation Area: "This extensive area is carpeted and filled with casual furniture." There are comfortable entertainment kiosks with audio/ visual equipment. Small rooms around the edges of the area contain games, recreational reading, and athletic equipment. It all looks very well maintained, but strangely unused.

When you turn around, you can look into Area #20, the Formal Mess Hall. "This area contains several tables, and is adjoined by a fully automated kitchen. Most of tables are bare, and do not even have condiments on them. One table has a single place setting laid out."

Chiree, who has been following you quietly, says, There was only one bedroom used, and the table is set for just one! Oh! I think the soldiers talked about leaving, after they left us here. Is there only one person here?

For everyone else, you also see the empty crew quarters, Area #19, and note that the double-sized room is the only one which appears to be in use.

As they move through the various areas, he takes note of the indications that there's only one inhabitant here. "Whoever this is, they're not sleeping and not eating. So they must be working somewhere."

"Is it even worth looking for them? Or should we just go and search for whichever pod Chirree's people are being held in?"
