Neutrals have no morals.
But for good characters: Maybe this sentiment might hold true for the pack. But Amity Mantle is a possessed child, and you have within your power the means to exorcise the demon and save her.

Not while fending off countless opponents, of course, but later. Or instead of.

Hi everyone,
Great stuff!
For clarity and efficiency, I believe these are the plans proposed so far:

1: Urdur creates an illusory Amity that orders them to "go all Jim Jones up in here."
Urson says he loves this idea.
Pixie volunteers to be the Amity simulacra.

2. Bo surprises, blinds and entangles the congregation. Then it's a fight against the survivors.
Socratic prefers this plan.

3. Plan combo! OgreMage says: "We could set up for plan 2 and see how plan 1 works first too."

4. Ingrid says: "If we can find Amity at the edge so we may sneak up behind her we could grab her and try to escape. I can create darkness to obscure our retreat, but we would not be able to see through it, either. Or, should we prefer, instead of darkness I could place an explosive rune on the ground to harm whoever may follow us."
Urson agrees: "We have to set our priority target- I'm assuming that's the Demon Amity- and be sure of where she is. Once we know, we should trigger our diversion, get in, and grab her."

5. Any other ideas?

Once all ideas are presented, you should vote on them. :)

Sorry if I misrepresented anyone's plan or preference. Lots of great ideas so far!

Whatever we do, success depends on knowing where Amity is, right? We don't know where she is, yet.

Sending a fake Amity out there is one way to flush her out, but I'm guessing werewolves could smell the difference without much difficulty, making the disguise flimsy at best.

Detect Evil? I bet she'd ping as the most evil thing around, given she's possessed by what seems to be the highest level evil spirit, since they all follow her.

If she's at an edge, I favor a combo of snag her and pyrotechnics/entangle as cover.

What if she's in the middle, though?

Conclusion: we should probably just give up. :) WHO'S WITH ME?!

I guess my vote is some combination of plan 4, plan 2, and possibly plan 1 if we can swing it. But as Pixie pointed out, the wolves will likely sniff out the fake Amity, so maybe that wasn't the good idea I had originally thought.

Maybe we can combine the explosive glyph with an entangle to good effect?

Greta ideas so far!!!

If you think we can get the girl and still flee the mob, I like CP's idea of the Detect Evil spell first to root her out from the crowd. She could be disguised as anything at this point, possibly even one of the wolves.

What about dancing lights (to create a fire-like figure) coupled with a ventriloquism spell (would have to be within 60' tho) - with mouser speaking in the language from the books maybe that would get her attention and call her out a little? or distract others to give us a chance to drop the hammer.

Remember: Jerome has tried his Detect Evil ability a couple of times, and Amity just blends in with the background noise. It's hard to detect one Evil in the middle of a bunch of Evils.

Yeah, Detect Evil just ends up overloading the caster, since everything is evil. A question was posed re: Ingrid spells- can she place a glyph on an object and throw it?

Sorry I missed the question and thanks for calling it out.

I don't think so. Here's the spell description from the PHB (emphasis added):
A Glyph of Warding is a powerful inscription magically drawn to prevent unauthorized or hostile creatures from passing, entering, or opening. It can be used to guard a small bridge, ward an entry, or as a trap on a chest or box.

Sorry.

If the Detect Evil spell wont work, this idea sounds interesting.

We could spread out in a semicircle around them, with Mouser sneaking close enough to be within his 60 yard limitation.

Both spells are quick to cast, and the glowing figure speaking the evil language from the books might just be enough to entice the demon to show itself. (I cant believe I just wrote that)

Ingrid can cast a silence on a stone and stand by, ready to toss it at any deserving casters. (or the girl if she shows herself)

Bo stands ready with his spells as well, waiting to see the outcome. Once we have conformation one way or the other, he can douse the fire and blind the ring of dancers, dropping his entangle spells in front of any wolves or other advancing adversaries.

Inferno: Is there enough moonlight for humans to see by once the big fire is extinguished? Or do we need to worry about keeping some kind of light source?

(Sorry, I don't mean to keep dragging this out, but I have grown fond of Bo over the years and don't want to simply rush into certain death if we can avoid it.)

The full moon hasn't risen yet. Once the fire goes out, you're down to starlight, unless your enemy gets torches alight.

Ok thanks!

That means some of us better have the ability to make light if we think we will need it.

I could speak with the owl again and have him do a quick fly by over the group to see if he can spot anything we cant, but that will eliminate another (what might prove priceless) Entangle spell.

Or, maybe Urdur could try to sneak a little closer invisibly, downwind so the wolves don't sniff him out, and take a closer look at the group before we decide? I don't want to speak for other characters though.

Hey everyone,

Looks like consensus is building around this plan.

4 PCs out of 6 are onboard.

The only outstanding question is whether you should scout first:

Good idea.

So just a quick jog around the party to see if he can spot anything we can’t, and then head back to let us know?

Bo will keep his spells ready, in case things go south, but he will maintain his current safe distance for now.
