"Are we ready for a hunt? Any clues from the locals here?"
Osric looks genuinely excited to get started but cautiously asks, "Does anyone else get the feeling that Grumsh could be at work here through the ogre?"

"What do you mean by 'ready for a hunt', Os?" Cilian asks the cleric with a shake of his head. "I thought the plan was to restock our supplies and get on our way. With all this cold weather we've been experiencing, I was thinking we should see about picking up some woolen cloaks. I'll go ask the innkeeper where we might find someone selling such wares."

ston you may want to read back over some older threads if you have time.

the tatooed ogres are the death mongers the group has been encountering, and they are worshippers of the death god.

Osric seems a little shocked that the party isn't ready to jump at the chance to defeat this enemy.
The ogre will be coming back here to raid again. We should help these people. I feel that Thor, and Odin, will not be granting us any victories down the road if we dont help here at this fork.

Just where were we going anyway?

I don't think we should lose sight of the big picture. I don't see any imminent threat to these people here and we know the death mongers are trying, or would like to be trying, to catch us or to stop us. I see your point Os but we are trying to prevent an event of a much larger magnitude, if we stop to hunt every evildoer we hear about...

Sergius will replenish his supply of water and rations. He will also get some holy water (if that is available at the temple) and some arrows.

Quick summary: we're looking for one of the death monger temples.

Detailed summary: You'll have to read through the threads for all of the build-up to this point.

I think Todd had a summary somewhere... ah, yes here: viewtopic.php?p=65541#p65541
Hope that helps.

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

"Yes, we are after the death monger's temple, agreed, but shouldn't the tattoed ogre that attacked the village have knowledge of this death monger temple? Why not hunt him down. It may lead us to the death temple."
Osric notices that the party does not seem intent on the idea, shrugs and says, "Very well, perhaps the direction the amulet will lead us will be his direction also."

Viktor wishes he could sleep in and stay warm forever but knows he can't. The others will be gathering for breakfast shortly. He pulls his weary self out of bed, thankful to be putting on dry clothes, and gathers his gear.

The young churl deputy tears into his morning meal and is relieved to see Osric arrive in one piece to meet them. When the reinvigorated cleric asks if they're ready to continue their hunt, Vik nods somewhat unenthusiastically in the affirmative. In regards to any clues or intel they were able to garner, Vik tells him all they heard discussed last night.

"I agree, Os. Besides, that storm that blew threw would've likely washed away its trail anyway. Not sure how close that temple be, but mayhap the tattooed ogre came from there to begin with?" Vik opines with a shrug and look of uncertain hope.

OOC: Vik will refill his water skin and look to purchase some iron rations and another torch here in town.

Viktor greets the fellow with a respectful nod, and dons that older and way more experienced than he really is look upon his visage.

"Thank you then. We are deputies of Sheriff Talon in Rashtan and have come to your hamlet here while in pursuit of a evil man and criminal. He has been through Autumndale before is apparently known by many names, as we just discovered. One of these being Jonus, at least as we know him," he details, describing the physical look and characteristics of the man as best he can.

"... Anyways, have you by chance seen the man I speak of here in Autumndale?" the churl-deputy queries, offering the time and dates that they learned from the locals at the inn last night.

Vik tries not to blow his stone cold and experienced-looking deputy facade at the news. He looks around to his companions before continuing. "Did this man offer up a name when he was in here, or perhaps mentioned where he might be headed off to? Do you know if he went anywhere else while here in Autumndale, or anyone else that might have spoken to him?"

When exactly did he pass through? How long ago did he leave? the young thief says shakily unable to pull off the cool deputy exterior.

"Well if you ever see him again, beware and warn the others then friend. With any luck, we'll be catching up to him first," Vik offers seriously before he begins looking around the man's store to assess his wares. When he can sneak a smile and wink at Tub without the merchant seeing, he'll do so. :)

"My fellow deputies and I could use some supplies before we head out then. We're looking for some heavy wool cloaks or jackets to counter the weather, and perhaps some other cold-weather clothing. We could also use some torches and lamp oil if you have that as well. Let's see, do we need to stock up on more trail rations as well before we head out, guys?" the young churl-deputy queries of his mates before turning to address the merchant. "Can we get trail rations here or do we need to see someone else here in town?"
