Keyon

"Heads up!" Keyon hisses. The rogue makes a grab for Feanol and (whether or not he catches her) ducks toward the nearest cover. "Something whistled over my head," he relates quickly. "An arrow or some flying insect, maybe." He scans the terrain and grips his hand-axe, crouching and ready to spring.

Piercing The Sky
Godsday, 23rd of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Hot, Humid, Buggy

Suspended from the underside of the rocky outcropping overhead, conical slug-like monsters with hard, pointy shells begin to drop down upon the heads of the unsuspecting party members.

The quick warnings from Keyon and Keg seem to help, causing the others to dive sideways, away from the wall and out of the way of the falling terrors. Everyone but Feanol that is, who gets hit by one that rips through the frail elfโ€™s shoulder, tearing open a horrible piercing wound. 6 dam The thin mage drops to the ground unconscious while small tentacles at the bottom of the creature begin to splash around in her gory wound.

Without aid, the she elf will be dead in seconds, while more of the strange monsters continue to rain down around her. The creatures that missed their target slowly drag themselves back in the direction of the wall with their gangly appendages.

The Knife

Knife [1d20] = 7

The Knife looks up to see Feanol bleeding out. He freezes for a moment, then lets out a tremendous scream and charges out to aid her. "AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! Unfortunately, his gear gets caught on a branch and instead of dodging nimbly through the rain of death, he stumbles out into the open, off-balance.

Keyon

With a startled cry, Keyon rips a dagger free from his belt and, without a moment's pause, flicks it at the creature attacking Feanol. He hopes to angle it just right and slice the creature without jarring the frail wizard. "Spinners be with me!" He cries out to the fates.

[1d20 +3] = 20+3 = 23, [1d6] = 2

After his throw, he'll dash toward the fallen elf maiden, intent on shielding her body until Elnaerel can reach her to heal the gruesome wound.

I forgot a dagger is d4, not d6. I rerolled the damage.

Elnaerel rushes towards the elven mage and lays her hands on her wound while intoning an incantation.

Cure Light Wounds: [1d8] = 3

She will try to drag her out of the place (but that will be next round I take)

How much time do we have before the piercers take again their position?

Pulls his bow out and starts firing at the piercers on the overhang. Giving them something to think about besides the people underneath them.

[1d20+3] = 7+3 = 10 Long bow arrow Miss

Darklin gets clear of the outcropping as he readies his bow and starts firing up at the hanging monsters, drilling one with an arrow. Keyon adeptly throws a dagger into the alien thing currently wedged in Feanol's shoulder, hitting it perfectly and causing a sickening suction sounding scream from the strange creature. The Knife isn't sure what to do since more of the things are still falling from the rocks above, so he improvises. Darting back in to help the fallen mage, he is barely able to avoid another from hitting him in the head next.

Fortunately, Keg missis the little monster with a blow from his sword that would most certainly have killed the bleeding elf outright. Keyon and Elnaerel rush in to aid the poor female, her kin casting a spell of healing over Feanol while the thing continues to splash around in her insides. The prayer is powerful enough to bring her back to consciousness, but only until the monster sucks in some more of her blood. All the poor woman can do is scream out in pain before she passes out a second time from the pain of the thing slowly eating her from the inside. 2 dam

One of the last 3 members of the group still in the danger drop zone under the rocks, Keyon is the next member of the group to get hit with one of the falling monsters, though this one only grazes his arm instead of sticking into his body completely. 3 dam

Actions?

In case I wasn't clear enough earlier, the piercer is currently stuck inside the upper portion of Feanol's limp body, slowly lapping up her blood and guts while you watch. :? However, the safety zone is only a few feet away from where the elf fell, if that helps your next decision.

The Knife

The Knife realizes he obviously can't move Feanol on his own and he'd just get underfoot of those who can. So he darts in and attempts to pull the horrible creature straight out of her wound. He tries to keep his fingers clear of any sharp teeth as he does.

Standing over the elf maid, the norseman continues to wave his sword menacingly at any of the other snail monsters that come within reach.

Keyon

His attempt to dislodge the creature not bearing immediate fruit, Keyon will move Feanol as gently and quickly as possible to safety, only pausing if anyone needs to offer healing magic or other medical aid. He grimaces as the creature hits his arm, but pushes on, wounds or risk of death be damned. He pictures the spinners laughing as they touch the sharp edge of a blade to the thread of his life and cackle madly while it unravels.

"I've had one friend die in my arms already in this cursed place," he growls. "I'll not have you doing the same, lady." He continues to try and shield her from attack as they move to safety.
