Re: Between The Spaces We Know (ooc and questions Vlll)
I want to do a post, but I'm confused. What is the plan? Urdur will do whatever is needed, but before I post I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.
Also, does Urdur have time to cast Invisibility on Mouser??

How do we know you're not a donkey-brained man?

Yes. Urdur can cast Invisibility on Mouser.
As I understand it, the plan is:
Urdur casts Invisibility.
Everyone except Long Bo sneaks into the storeroom and hides (around i5).
Bo sets a barrel on fire in the cavern (at d6).
Then hopefully, before any of the people in the ghastly kitchen see the barrel burning, Bo runs toward the kitchen and hides in the storeroom (around i5).
The people in the kitchen move through the storeroom to investigate the barrel, and the heroes ambush them from the storeroom.
If I got this wrong, please correct me.
If I got it right, I think the flaw in the plan is that Bo is running between the distraction and your enemies, and could be noticed on his way to the storeroom.
One possible solution: Someone invisible lights the barrel? (and then they can run into the storeroom or not)
Also, do you launch the ambush when the first of your enemies reaches the middle of the storeroom? Or when they reach the burning barrel? Or at a different point? If the barrel, then Jerome's current position (b5) could work. If not, Bo can guide him into the storeroom, as posted.
Once we get answers to the above, and Urdur's post, I'll move it along.

Thanks!

I was thinking about invisibility for mouser if we needed a hidden figure for a little back stabbery. With our plan to burn the barrel in the cavern (and hopefully we don't suffocate ourselves from the smoke
I think we can forgo the invisibility for now.

Re: Between The Spaces We Know (ooc and questions Vlll)
Sorry for the confusion.
I guess I was thinking that it would take a few moments for the fire to flame up to the size that someone might notice it from a distance. If that isn't the case, and Bo doesn't think he would have time to rush in and hide, I am good with Urdur lighting the fire instead, if SL doesn't mind.
The invisibility factor is always tricky going into a battle, since once you attack, its gone. It might be more beneficial to wait, but I will leave that decision up to you guys.

Yeah, it's a low risk but why chance it when you have an invisible man. Er, gnome.

Urdur should light the fire

Re: Between The Spaces We Know (ooc and questions Vlll)
Well, that sorta worked.
(and we didn't need to waste the illusionist spell)
So, how should we play this from here?
Do we want to fight them now? Or, let them pass and see what happens?
I guess we could make a break for the door while the men are occupied, in hopes that we can avoid a fight here all together?

Or Maybe Urdur could sneak in there unseen really quick and take a look beyond the door first before the SHTF?
Re: Between The Spaces We Know (ooc and questions Vlll)
Yeah, sorry- Jerome's not really rational right now. The die roller seems to be in a good mood toward me, tho.

Hey everyone.
That's three and a half days and I have one PC post.
I'll extend the turn to get some more. Thanks!

Table talk in the PbP format is akin to adding oil to water.
Re: Between The Spaces We Know (ooc and questions Vlll)
well not sure what to take of that. do we kill the rest or save them for questioning?
maybe Bo can entangle them

Re: Between The Spaces We Know (ooc and questions Vlll)
That was quick and painless.
(well, not so painless for them)
Hopefully the women and children wont need to be dealt with so harshly and we can just tie them up or something.
I think the silence was a good idea so far.

Jerome's got some serious soul-searching to do. On the one hand, a Paladin wouldn't sanction killing innocents. On the other "nits grow into lice".
Unsettling fact: real- world Paladins, during the Crusades, would sometimes 'convert' Muslims, then kill them to "prevent backsliding."

Hey everyone,
Just a reminder that the 'Behind the DM Screen' spoiler (directly beneath the maps in every DM post) is where you can find rolls, rulings and OOC DM commentary specific to that post (unless there is none).
Scott, please have a look at the latest one when you get the chance. Thanks!

Personally, I never read that section- it's all 'mechanics and crunchy bits' to me. LOL

I love the crunch!
I dont like spending the time and great effort to post my own DM rolls, but I would be willing to bet that Inferno spends about as much time organizing that information as he does writing our update posts.
Or maybe more?

If a lot is going on, it can be more.
The last two for Sauron Victorious have been pretty extreme. Lots to keep track of.
