Cassius

Once he gets close enough to the trolls, Cassius will stow his bow and draw steel, hacking at the head of the other troll.

Longsword 1 (18): [1d20+3]=14+3=17

Roan digs out a torch and lights it then heads towards the twitching troll forms trying to help set them ablaze.

Zan

Zan will move to help Roan stupid box in hand.

Something's Burnin'...

As the swamp comes alive with figures, some ancient enemies, the Bugbear isn't sure what to do...so it doesn't do anything but stand still, weapon in hand, yellow eyes darting back and forth as the companions move in.
Fahima goes straight for one of the twitching trolls (T1). The swamp stench off the beast would gag a maggot on a gut wagon but she swallows the bile rising in her throat and applies her torch to its body. It sizzles and smokes, and the stench is even worse, but she doesn't relent.
(Got any oil?)

Cassius makes it all the way to the other troll (T2), stowing his bow, and drawing steel. While trusting his companions to keep the Bugbear in check, he begins hacking at the twitching beast, breathing through his mouth in an attempt not to smell the wretch.

Roan digs out a torch, strikes flint to steel to light it, and then heads toward Cassius.

Zan follows the Dwarf, box in hand, eyeballing the Bugbear as he approaches.

The Bugbear backs away a few more steps and glances toward the open swamp on its right.
"Run and you die!" Vilana hisses in a language the Bugbear can easily understand. Her muscles are as taut as her bowstring with one arrow ready and another sticking in the ground at her feet.
The Bugbear decides it's best to stand still.


On the muddy slope, Gordansk swishes his heavy scythe as if he is cutting wheat. "Protect yourself! And me!" he says to the man, who is struggling to stand in the mud. The lizardmen bear down on the pair, teeth snapping in anticipation of the kill. They break off, each picking a target. Their eagerness is more advanced than their skill making their first attacks ineffective against the doom preacher and the man.
Gordansk hacks at L1 with his scythe, slipping in the mud, and the lizard warrior easily dodges it.
The man unsheathes a sword and hacks at L2, drawing first blood with a slash to the lizard warrior's chest.



Rolls:
Lizard Man initiaitive: [1d10]=3
L1 attack: [1d20]=6 [1d6]=3
L2 attack: [1d20]=12 [1d6]=2
Man attack: [1d20]=17 [1d8]=1

Zan

Zan will pass his only oil flask to help with the troll. "Will this help?"

Oil removed from sheet.

Fahima

Fahima continues to attack the troll with her torch.

No oil. Does backstab count? If so +4 to hit and double damage.

Torch [1d20]=20 to hit [1d4]=2 damage
Natural 20.

To whom does he pass his oil flask? If it's to Fahima or Cassius, he needs to move over to their spot.

Should have been more clear in the post - he will move behind Fahima to pass it along.

Gordansk

Gordansk: melee with Scythe: [1d20]=11 damage [2d4]=2

Slips and slides down the embankment.

Cassius

He keeps on his assault, making sure the trolls don't get up while being torched.

Roan will take the flask of oil from Zan and use it to help set the trolls on fire by splashing oil onto the downed forms before using his torch again on them.

Hmmm. Honestly never thought about how to backstab a twitching troll.
Had a gaming buddy once who encountered a gray ooze and asked, in character, "Can I backstab that thang?"
It was a running joke in our gaming group for years.

Fahima

She will grab the oil and pour it all over the troll. If it doesn't light she will then light it.

I am at work so can't post rolls right now. You can go ahead and roll for me if I need to roll again. As far as backstab go I will try every dirty trick I can think of against a troll.

Oooh That Smell...

Zan hurries ahead oil flask in hand and gives it to Fahima, who promptly douses the troll (T1) and lights it up...whoosh! Roan takes the flask and pours the remaining oil on the troll Cassius is using for sword practice and sets torch to oil...whoosh!
The creatures sizzle and burn, sending plumes of black smoke into the air and a nasty stench all around.
The Bugbear still hasn't moved, but its nose twitches at the smell of burning troll.
"Drop your weapon!" Vilana says to the Bugbear...but it does not comply; it's transfixed on the burning trolls. Sai begins to walk slowly forward, bow trained on the brute.

On the hill...
Gordansk slips in the mud sending the arc of his scythe wide and missing his lizard man foe (L1).
The lizard man makes some type of "ka-ka-ka" noise in its throat and then makes Gordansk bleed with a spear jab to his ribs. The other lizard man (L2) stabs at the man fighting alongside the doom preacher, but the man knocks the spear aside and rams his sword deep into the its gut!

Actions! The map is virtually the same as last post.
I also need Sai or Zan to roll for Surprise.

Stats:

Fahima keeps the torch ready and burns any spots the oil missed.

Zan

Roan tries talking in orcish again hoping this works "Why were yer people an them trolls fightin'? Is there a war going on out 'ere that we dun know of? What is tha relationship with tha lizardfolk and yer folk?" the dwarf trying to make sense of things. Back in common "Why are yah tryin ta disarm 'im? I was gonna let 'im go." he asks Vilana.

In the fetid Hool Swamp, the companions are burning trolls...when the swamp behind him erupts in a charge of lizard men! Sai is the first attacked, as two of them come at him. One stabs him in the back and he turns and ducks the other's spear.
Sai:
Vilana turns as a lizard man wielding a spear and carrying a shield slams into her, raking her across the face with a crude spear! She cries out and the others wonder what is going on when several lizard men burst from the trees behind them!

Roan, conversing with the bugbear, then turning to Vilana, see the ambush and cries out a warning.
Too late for Zan who turns around as two lizardmen (L6 & L7) jab and stab at him, one drawing blood with a nasty gash to his stomach. Another lizard man (L14) charges past and engages the bugbear with nothing but tooth and claw, biting the Bugbear in the neck and riding it to the ground!

Zan will pull out the magical scroll from the count to allow us to speak lizard man. Zan will cast the spell and say

"I have a gift for Sakatha, the Great Lizard King of the Hool Marshes. It is a blessing from Count Tydan of Port Torvin"

Maybe I can get rid of this box.

Fahima

Fahima will ready her staff-sling with a bullet and wait to see if the Lizard men respond to Zan before attacking.
