Keg smiles a toothy grin. That's sharp thinking, Knife. What say the rest of you?
Make a workable shelter here before we run out of daylight and start fresh tomorrow?

If we do, I say the first order of business is to get rid of these bodies. They smell bad enough as it is, i don't want a whiff of them when they get ripe. But where do we dump em at?

Well, Elnaerel will definetely not manipulate in any way the bales

Elnaerel nods. "That's a good idea. Despite the potential dangers, I prefer camping in the outdoors. That cave was too wet. Who knos what could surprise us coming out from the water. I'll help dragging the bodies far from here." She gets to work.

Pesky Random Encounter
Moonday, 22nd of Goodmonth
Mid Afternoon, Sunny, Hot, Humid, Buggy

Keg, TK, and Feanol look around the outside of the structure, watching for any danger that may approach. Keg estimates that there is a good 4 hours of daylight remaining, so a discussion begins about setting this area up as a camp for the night.

Darklin, Keyon, and Elnaerel move inside the lean-to where the priestess stomps out the remaining embers in the fire ring to extinguish any remnants of smoke. Despite TK's warning from outside, she starts digging through the partial bale of stinking plants, finding that the mold spores attached to it become airborne once they are agitated. Her hands quickly become covered with the smelly substance, and the air around her suddenly becomes almost impossible to breath. (Hard Con check, please. Success will allow you to continue making actions.)

At the same time, Keyon starts poking at the weathered packs on the ground, finding mostly old clothing at first glance. Darklin finds something much more interesting when he starts poking around at the ratty furs. The first thing he reveals is a hairy leg, one that is attached to a dark, muddy hoof. By the time he realizes that this pile of furs is actually a living, breathing animal, the beast is awake and moving. Initially startled, Darklin takes a step back once the huge jungle boar rears up to its legs, shaking off its slumber by moving its large head back and forth violently and squealing loudly. (both surprised)

The massive animal's eyes are as red as the ogres were, and it too looks a bit disorientated as it tries to regain its bearings, eventually brandishing its thick tusks, about to gore the closest intruder. (If anyone outside the structure plans on attacking, please remember that the lean-to is only accessible from the 2 open ends. Thanks!)

Keyon

The rogue's eyes widen and he glances quickly behind him to select an escape route before backing hurriedly away to the east, sword upraised to strike if the beast charges him. If he is able to leave the lean-to without being trampled, he will begin circling around to the other side in an attempt to catch the great beast from behind if an opportunity presents itself.

Feanol

Feanol hears the squeals and sees Keyon moving out the east side. She follows looking to make sure she has room to possibly escape or to get in position to assist with her daggers if possible.

The Knife

When The Knife hears the squeals, for a moment he thinks of a nice, jolly, pink pig. Then he remembers that real pigs aren't nice or jolly. Especially ones that live in the jungle.

The Knife runs for the trees at the edge of the clearing and puts a nice solid tree trunk between himself and any wild charge out of the lean-to. Then, once again, he draws some darts and cautiously peeks out.

Elnaerel

Hard Skill Check [4d6] = 16 vs CON 16

The elfin backs away from the stinking bales, coughing heavily.

I assume that's a success? If it's so...

When she hears the animals she spins around to face the source of the sounds. She doesn't attack, though, considering her current state, instead running to where The Knife is and crouching a bit to use the tree trunk as best she can as protection, while getting her morningstar ready for any eventuality.

That's No Fur
Moonday, 22nd of Goodmonth

With sword in hand, Darklin strikes out at the beast, slashing a nasty wound into its side. The boar tries to charge and gore the elf in return, but is hindered by the items strewn around inside the crowded shelter. Keg rushes around to the side opening, thinking about bacon, but doesn't arrive in time to make much of a difference. Keyon also chugs around to the other side of the lean-to, but doesn't find an opening to attack by surprise with the other two already blocking his path to the danger.

Feanol follows behind Keyon, in case she needs to use her daggers again, while TK and Elnaerel move to the edge of the clearing and hide position themselves behind a thick tree for safety. The elven cleric is still a bit dizzy from the smoke fumes and mold spores, but she is able to escape the danger without issue. They both hear another loud squeal of pain from the animal, but cant see what is happening inside the dead ogre's shelter.

The Knife

"I hope they know what they're doing in there," The Knife says to Elnaerel. "I wouldn't want to be trapped in a small space with a wild animal like that."

He keeps his eyes fixed on the entrance to the lean-to, waiting to take a shot if the boar makes a break for it.

Elnaerel

"A trapped animal is a dangerous animal. I hope they don't get themselves injured in order to get our dinner." She looks at the gnome. "Better if we stay here in case they need help." She smiles. Then lookd behind them. You never know what may be lurking behind you in the jungle.

TK and Elnaerel wisely stay away from the unseen battle inside the rough shelter, neither seeing anything dangerous approaching from the bush......yet.

Keg and Darklin swing around wildly in the narrow confines of the ogre's lean-to, having trouble getting decent footing as they fight the hairy, toothy beast.

The stinking jungle animal squeals even louder once it sees more combatants entering the structure. It spins around wildly before lunging towards Darklin, goring him in the thigh with its sharp tusks hard enough to draw blood and knock the elf from the fight. 5 dam

Keyon enters the cramped area next, but isnt able to land a blow with his sword either. Feanol gasps from a safe distance when she sees her bodyguard fall to the muddy ground next to the extinguished fire pit, the elf's lifeblood slowly oozing from his body.

The Knife

The Knife watches the lean-to swaying as the fight rages inside. "It's definitely putting up a fight. Do you think there's more than one in there?"

"Can't see anything from here." he mutters in exasperation. Against his better judgement, he moves to hide behind a tree at the other end of the bales.

I missed another round. Heaven help me. Been dealing with the aftermath of Sally. The damage was pretty bad in my neck of the woods.

Keyon

Fully intent on retreating, the elf turns to bolt just as he spies the body of Darklin hitting the ground, blood flowing freely into the thirsty earth. He freezes, warring with himself. Self-preservation struggles against a strange sense of loyalty to his new companions.

Yet again, he feels the spinners tugging at the threads of his life, ready to cut them and laugh as he tumbles into the void. With a growl of frustration, he rounds on the big beast and channels all of his strength into a hard slash.

To hit: [1d20 + 1] = 16+1 = 17, DMG [1d8 + 1] = 5+1 = 6, DMG L:[1d12 + 1] = 5+1 = 6

Feanol

As she watches things unfold before her, she follows Keyon in, but instead of attacking she moves quickly to staunch the flow of blood from Darklin's wounds.
