Clearing Rubble" Final Rooms: Decisions...

The party takes about an hour to clear the rubble and gets to the rest of the hallway they discover there are only two rooms left in the place other than the room the snakes were moved into. Egon looks into the last room to the south and sees a small rubble pile that could have come down in the same cave in that brought rubble down on two of the former adventurers that were in the party. Urtesi looking down to where the hallway split to the north sees another room with a rubble pile in it, it could be the same as what Egon is seeing could be new could be old rubble. So now the choice is which room to enter first? There is no light coming from either room all you can see is what you can with your infravision and light sources. Being the cautious lot the group stopped once they could see down both hallways before picking a room to enter.

Egon will slowly advance into the first room they came to, looking for anything dangerous or suspicious.

Egon

"Beware, something is moving by the rock pile in front and to my right."

Egon readies his scimitar and shield and advances slowly towards the movement.

Staff gripped tightly, Weston follows Egon.

Urtesi moves to the corridor leading to the other unexplored room. If any enemies come from that direction, he can block the way to the intersection so that people don't get separated or trapped in the northern room.

I hope I understood correctly that Egon went to the room to the north first.

Xlore Readies his sword upon hearing the word movement.

Elanriel

Back in her usual position at the rear, Elanriel trains her senses behind them, down the passageway to the west, but she is ready to move forward again if the need arises.

Delsenora

Del sends her two ferrets to investigate the rubble and movement.

"They have better senses than we do. If there is trouble we can help them.

Egon can already see one of the creatures before the ferrets move into the room. It's a giant bug, beetle to be more accurate.

Egon

Egon will move to attack the beetle.

Scimitar +1 [1d20+2] = 16+2 = 18 to hit [1d8+4] = 1+4 = 5 damage

Urtesi, holding a sword and shield, calls out to the hobgoblin in common.

"Surrender! There are many of us!"

Hopefully this simple message is understandable to the humanoid.

Weston joins the others in attacking the beetle:

Well this certainly will be an interesting battle in two different rooms with different enemies.

It tilts its head as you speak common as if it doesn't understand you and it looks like it is going to charge at you!
