The Knife

The Knife takes cover behind a tree and peeks out around the trunk. He realizes that if the ogre runs towards it's camp it will go right by him, so he chooses a nice sturdy tree offering plenty of cover. Then he draws three darts from his bandolier.

Weighing up the battle in front of him, The Knife decides not to take the risk of hitting Keg. He takes a few deep breaths to steady his nerves and improve his aim, waiting for a clearer shot.

Elnaerel will charge and attack at the ogre again.

Morning Star - To hit [1d20] = 7; Dmg S/M [2d4] = 7 L [1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2

Some of you sure have a lot of daggers to throw. :D

Blood In The Dirt
Moonday, 22nd of Goodmonth
Mid Afternoon, Sunny, Hot, Humid, Buggy

Before the brute even has a chance to turn and run, the party has him whittled down to a dead carcass, lying in the dirt next to his friends. As fast as the battle started, it is over nearly as quick. The group retrieves their thrown weapons and catches their breath when TK comes out from behind a nearby tree.

Keyon

With his weapons retrieved and cleaned, the thief grimaces as he gives the other bodies a once-over in what he feels is a vain attempt to find some bauble to render the battle profitable. He sends a sideways glance to TK. "Glad you're still three-dimensional, mate. Find anything good out there?"

Keg looks quite satisfied with himself as he wipes his sword off on the dead ogre. There! Now we can call this a successful day when we lay down tonight.

He grin a bit and looks over the bodies curiously for anything of use.

Noting that TK is back he nods. Good to see you made it bad short stack! One of them rough you up a bit?

The Knife

The Knife rubs his neck and shoulder and gingerly touches his swollen ear. "Yes, he caught me with a pretty good shot," he says ruefully. "Are you all okay?"

"Their camp is back over there. Nobody in it now. I saw a couple of sacks and some weird smelling leaves."

"I've got to recover my backpack first though." The Knife walks back to the spot where he ambushed the fallen ogre. Then he starts to follow the trail of smashed vegetation created by the angry beast as it chased him after him.

Darklin

After retrieving all his thrown weapons he heads over to inspect the Ogres for any kind of pouch they may carry.

Well that was rough won. We should get what we can and head to the cave if we are going to stay there. We are all beat up now so fighting another one of those is out of the question. maybe we can investigate the shack and grab the bags.

Keyon

He dips into the jungle after The Knife, concerned at the ragged state of his fellow thief. "I'll tag along," he says, falling into step and keeping his eyes open as they walk.

Elnaerel

The petite elven cleric sighs in relief when she sees the monster finally die. "That was close." Then she sees The Knife enter the scene and her eyes wide open, her mouth gaping. "Oh Knife, you're in a very bad state. Wait, let Ehlona help you. Don't move."

Cure Light Wounds: [1d8] = 8

"I'll come with you to their encampment. Surely there's something we can use and bring back to the cave.

Feanol

Gathers up all 6 of her knives, then joins Darklin. "How are you?" She'll check his wounds and see if she can do anything to help repair the damage (not sure if you allow bandaging) if possible.

The Spoiled Spoils (PRE)
Moonday, 22nd of Goodmonth
Mid Afternoon, Sunny, Hot, Humid, Buggy

The ogres are wearing nothing but leafy undershorts and we’re carrying no valuables on them. Somehow, they stink even worse now that their dead.

Once Elnaerel lays her elven hands on the injured gnome, healing him completely, and Feanol applies some bandages on Darklin to stave inflammation, the group gears back up and moves into the clearing The Knife found.

The area is spread out along the cliff wall, little more than a narrow patch of smashed vegetation and torn out trees. A simple sleeping structure is comprised of three huge tree trunks propped against the cliff wall at an angle, piled with a thick matt of leafy vegetation. There are six roughly bound bales of some stinking leafy plant rotting in the sun. Whatever the pungent herb is, the jungle moisture has caused it to develop thick patches of strange looking blue mold that covers most of its surface.

Under the leaning open walled roof are three large mats of sticks and leaves encircling a rough fire pit ringed with stones and dug into the oerth. There are 4 more of the moldy bales in here, one of them is torn open and left next to the still smoldering ashes in the pit. By the smell of the place, it seems they might have been using the damp plants for firewood. The smoke from the current fire is minimal, but smelling any of it causes dizziness and watery eyes after only a few seconds.

Sitting against the cliff wall behind the sleeping mats are what looks like 2 old canvas packs, both badly worn, and a large pile of stinking, tattered, patchy furs.

He will search the furs for valuables stashed in them. Using his long sword to flip them over one at a time.

Keg looks unimpressed as he surveys the camp. These brutes have no sense of how to take care of themselves looks like. Can't even tan a hide properly. Hard to believe the tales you hear of them actually having priests and mages in their lot. Never seen any proof they could manage that sort of thing, have you?

I wonder how feasible this spot would be for making a decent shelter for us. In a tight spot I mean.
he will then check the sun to see how much more daylight they really have.

Elnaerel disperses the ashes with her booted foot in order to extinguish the waning fire for good. Then she croaches next to one of the moldy balls and examines it, smells it, opens it to see what it looks like in the interior or what plant could have been used. She turns to the burly ranger: "Keg, do you have this might have any use? The plant they use for this looks to have some properties. See how the smoke can make us dizzy. Maybe is there any way we could use this against enemies?"

She looks around her: "Could someone stand guard while we deal with this... camp?"

Keyon

Avoiding breathing the pungent fumes as much as possible, Keyon begins a careful search of the packs, also employing his sword to open them and rummage carefully through the contents.

The Knife

The Knife looks at the mold covered leaf-balls suspiciously, keeping his distance. "Be careful!", he cautions Elnaerel when she starts to open one.

"Sure! I can keep lookout," The Knife volunteers. He finds a spot near the front of the lean-to, watching the edge of the clearing. He tries to keep his distance from the mold covered bundles.

ha! The junior high part of my brain really enjoyed "green moldy balls"

Keg looks at the bales and then back Elaerel when he is asked about how to us them against their enemies.

The fighter thinks a long moment. Maybe set them on fire upwind of their position and let the smoke drift down to them... would be better if we had a way to throw them in like a small catapult or something.

The Knife

The Knife studies the clearing as he stands guard, mumbling to himself. "You think he's right? I'd prefer the cave myse...What? Yes...well, we could do that..."

He clears his throat and calls out to the others. "I think we could make this a safe place to stay the night", he calls out to the others.

"First we'd have to drag those bodies away, before the smell draws dangerous animals in. Then a couple of us could cut some bamboo, vines and big leaves to make screens for the front of the lean-to. That would give us a bit more cover."

"And we've already worked on some traps over there. The ogres got to us before we finished rigging them up. We could drag the big log and the sharpened sticks over here. Set them up to protect one side of the perimeter."
