Quest #32 "Visiting With The Neighbors"
Re: Quest #32 "Visiting With The Neighbors"
Daisy
Daisy hears the Dwarf's taunt, and looks up from bandaging Narramore's wounds.
Ya'll better borrow someone else's pecker if you plan on fucking anyone! Pretty sure yours won't do the job!

Knowing the Dwarf is not yet out of range, Dexter tries one more shot with his sling. Perhaps the pressure of desperation helps, but the bullet flies true and hits hard.
Attack with Sling [1d20+6]=16+6=22
Damage from Sling Bullet vs. Small,Medium [1d4+1]=4+1=5

The Princess
Mayor Daisy must be a poor influence on the impressionable elf as she curses loudly in elven at her inept swordplay.
She tries desperately to urge her mount forward, hoping that it will move faster than the dwarf's. She continues her rage in dwarven: "Get back here Stumpy, and I'll cut off your balls and use you as my eunuch!"
Her anger compels her to try to chase down the dwarf, for now.

Stonegut Bodies
Godsday, 23rd of Goodmonth
Early Afternoon, Overcast, Hot, Humid
Daisy gives the dwarf a long distance "what-for" as she continues tending to the unconscious paladin, not shy in the least about the choice of her colorful words.
Dexter sends the dwarf a statement as well, this one in the form of another sling stone to the back of the melon. The precision of the halflings attack reminds anyone watching about their sneaky skills regarding tossed things. By the time Princess has her mount in position to follow the other lizard, the noise from the shot smacking into the dwarfs thick head rings out over the normal din of the jungle.
As the lizards slowly amble away, the dwarf suddenly slumps forward in his saddle, blood pouring out of the wounds in the back of his hairy head. With the combat apparently over, the participants begin to realize that there were no actual ramifications from all the dwarven horn blowing earlier.
Actions?
Dexter 5/23
Daisy 11/16 1/4 first
Sophie AC:4 2/6
Narramore -1/12 LOH (Unconscious)
Princess 5/5 CL, DM, RM 0/1 first

"Aye," says Dexter softly, as he moves towards the others. "That would be Master Brandobaris rewarding me for remembering that I'm no warrior, and ta' stick ta' what I'm good at."

The Princess
She pushes her mount to sidle up alongside the downed dwarf and tries to grab the reins of the lizard. She hopes to stop it and confirm the dwarf's demise.
After doing so, she calls out to the others. "Can you give me a hand with these lizards?" She tries to lead the mounts back towards the fallen Knight.

Daisy
Daisy raises her voice enough to be sure everyone is included in the discussion. Ah did what Ah could for Sir Narramore. If we kin get these lizards to cooperate, we should prob'ly try and head back for Beachtown. Ah don't think Ah wanna deal with the Stoneguts until we kin make a show of force. Sometimes, diplomacy comes from the point of a sword.
IF Narramore can be moved, Daisy will advocate getting him back to Beachtown ASAP, either draped over the back of a lizard or in a travois.

Thinking of the need of a possible future distraction, Dexter picks up the horn of the slain Dwarf and tucks it inside his tunic. "So, is the plan to still hide these bodies? And what about the lizards? They leave tracks, and if they are found around Beachtown, then that gig is up."

Stonegut Bodies
Godsday, 23rd of Goodmonth
Early Afternoon, Overcast, Hot, Humid
The badly beaten party quickly regroups now that the enemy has been eliminated. Princess takes the reigns of the wayward lizard, finding the dwarf in the saddle to be quite dead. She finds that leading the huge lizards around isn't as easy as she hoped, but every time she offers up a bit of food, the seem willing to follow her.
Daisy binds Narramore as best she can, telling the others they should try to get the large man back to Beachtown if they can. (I show Daisy with one spell remaining, not sure if you forgot that or if I missed one along the way)
Dexter looks over the dead dwarves, taking the horn for possible future use. The halfling questions what to do about the lizards and the bodies of the dead dwarves.

Re: Quest #32 "Visiting With The Neighbors"
The Princess
She makes it back to the downed knight. "Brave man, he is." She looks around for the others. "Thanks for coming back. That bastard with the horn laid a trap for us. Where are Jaxsen and Liam?"
"I agree with your decision, Mayor. But I am still very curious about what's going on with the dwarves. That horn was loud, and so far nothing has come of it. Maybe the mine is farther away, or maybe the jungle noises interfere. Curious. Someone mentioned something about the dwarves being possessed? Do you suppose the clan has fallen?"
She tuns to Dexter. "I know we've had some disagreements, but thanks for returning. My thought was to disguise some of the more obvious wounds on the dwarves. But maybe if we just strip them and hide the bodies, the jungle will take care of it. I know most can't fit into the armor, but the raw materials could be used. Bringing the arms and armor back to town may prove useful. I think I can get these two moving along and we can use them as transports."
"The lizards were found other places, tracks in beachtown could be explained away. But of course, there's the matter of the two patrolling dwarves from earlier."

Dexter nods at the Princess' question. "Yes, the Monk said something about everything, including the insects, heading north. He thought that was pretty strange." The Halfling points towards the hot springs they found. "And I've seen where I think the slime that possesses people comes from, so yes, it's possible the Dwarves are no longer, exactly, Dwarves."

Daisy looks very unhappy with the situation. Ah hate to leave anyone unburied, butAh think we got no choice.
Strip the valuables from these fellas and lay 'em out in the jungle. Let's see if we can get ourselves and the lizards back to Beachtown.
Before the group heads back to town, Daisy will say a brief prayer over the dwarves. Great Arvoreen, bless these folks. They opposed us, but they thought they were in the right.

"I'll need a little help gettin' these guys off the trail and into the trees." Dexter says. "Once we get 'em out there, ya might want to leave me be with 'em."
If anyone doesn't want to handle the dead bodies, Dexter adds, "No one is too good to help with the dirty work, or the dirty work doesn't get done."
Once the bodies are deep enough into the foliage to be invisible from the trail, Dexter begins laying the bodies open with his dagger. He basically vivisects them, in order to let the scavengers, insects and even the plant life make quicker work of them. Abdomen, larger organs and muscle groups are all sliced open to allow for faster disposal. Dexter does this while laying their own clothes over them and cutting under the fabrics, so as to keep the worst of the blood off himself. Once finished, however, he tosses the cloth aside to allow nature to take its course. He isn't neat about any of this, trying to be as quick as possible. The end result would be reminiscent of Jack the Ripper, not an autopsy.

The Princess
She helps Dexter drag off the bodies, but as she has thrown her daggers carelessly around at dwarves she only watches as he gets to work. A thief with fewer blades than limbs is no thief at all.
"That works. I'm guessing this isn't your first time. No judgement, just an observation. Where did you say you were from again?"
She moves back to Daisy and looks from the large knight to the top of the lizard and sighs.

"More a combination of experiences on this island, a good teacher, and seeing how fast the bugs here will eat you if you stop moving," Dexter replies. "I've never had to do this exact thing before, but it made sense."
"Strange," he adds. "No valuables. It is unusual for Dwarves, even soldiers in the field, to not carry at least some of their wealth. Almost a religious thing."

Daisy has no problem moving the corpses, but looks a little distressed when Dexter starts carving. She heads back out to the trail.
Princess, if ya'll will help me, we'll get Narramore down to his skivvies, so he'll be easier to move. Daisy begins the job of removing Narramore's armor without destroying it or making his injuries worse.
We'll bundle his armor, and the dwarves' weapons, and take 'em along, of course.

Stonegut Bodies
Godsday, 23rd of Goodmonth
Mid Afternoon, Overcast, Hot, Humid
It takes the lithe elf and the pair of halflings a good deal of time to strip, drag away, and mutilate the bodies of the dead dwarves. Finding no treasure on them other than one silly horn comes as a surprise to Dexter, but Daisy knows that soldiers out on the trail would likely have no need of lucre. Once that nasty business is over, they move back to the trail to deal with the unconscious mountain of Narramore.
Stripping the paladin of his heavy armor is challenging enough, especially with the the royal Princess trying to look away whenever they get to certain regions. Luckily, Daisy has experience in such things from her years of healing soldiers on the battlefield. It takes even more effort to calm the lizards enough to get the injured man elevated and strapped across one of their broad green backs, but eventually the task is completed with minimal groaning from the human.
Looking up and down the trail reveals no danger from either direction at this point, but all of them know it will be a long journey back to Beachtown, even if they don't run into any resistance.
