Yup it helps. There needs to be a fast exit from the tree :)
I don't want to be escaping goblins to be caught by wolves... a Tolkien quote that couldn't be more appropriate! ;)
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

A terrible idea now is still better than a good idea after we're all dead.

We need to have the DM roll for us!
Z1 attacks Mondegreen: [1d20] = 1, [1d20] = 18, [1d20] = 18 One fumble and two hits.
Z3 attacks Urdur: [1d20] = 15, [1d20] = 12, [1d20] = 12 All three hit.
E1 attacks Hothhil: [1d20] = 20, [1d20] = 17 Both hit, one a critical.

Also noting the three attacks... I shudder to think what the trees can do :o

Brings up a question. For these zombies (though the fact they aren't slow, the three attacks and the stench make me think of quite a different undead, but we'll call them zombies for now :D ) it is a claw, claw, bite for attack and damage? You mention the "dirty claws and fanged mouths" earlier, but wanted to clarify.

Yes. Claw, claw, bite. I don't think I ever referred to them as zombies.

Also, please roll me some sling stone damage.

No sir. No you did not. :D Just flowing with the “Z” designation. Forgot about the sling damage. I’ll do that now.

OGRE MAGE wrote:Bo sees the trees moving and suddenly gets an idea. Trees are plants, right? And plants, like humans, are constructed mostly of water, right?

Moving 5' towards E2, he starts casting a spell that he hopes will cleanse this spirit tree form the evil that its absorbed over the long years.

Casting: Purify Water (and praying this might actually work?)
Just wanted to clarify: this didn't work. Using this logic, you could use Purify Water instead of casting Exorcism. I can't support that. But, as always, I appreciate your creativity and ingenuity. Keep it coming. :)

Agreed, creative man! Water being the blood of the tree. :)
We need a petrify wood spell at this point. :)

I think claw, claw, bite, stench, paralyze gives a pretty good indication as to what they are. But in your campaign I wouldn’t assume that’s all they are. Thus Rudolph’s fear. :D

That's what you always say....... right after you tell me that something wont work.

Thanks for the clarification. Since that ent didn't attack, I was about to try it again on another.

Now I am back to not knowing what the heck to do.

Seems like the ents might be sentries, only defending themselves... though in his defense, Hothhil never actually attacked the tree, he only dropped some oil.
At any rate, maybe we should leave the ents alone.

I think Hothhil is done for.
