Victor, "Sheesh, I summon a demon from the pits of hell and he asks for a fireball...
btw, I don't have the rules in front of me, what a two-handed sword's damage? 2d10? 1D10?

Which goblins are left standing?

Maya's attacks for next segment.
Longsword: [1d20] = 2 Damage: S/M[1d8+1] = 4+1 = 5, L[1d12+1] = 2+1 = 3
WOW
Victors attack for when his phantasmal force is done and there are any goblins left standing.
Demon Thing: [1d10] = 1
I laughed so hard after that roll...

Kormak takes out a torch lights it and throws it near where he saw the beasties.

Wexley steps into the room and to the side, holding his bow taught, ready to fire at the hobgoblin the moment it sticks it's ugly head up.
Using the rolls from previous post, now that things have changed?
Borum still holding his shield up, approaches where the hobgoblins ducked down. Taking a quick glance at the bright glow in the middle of the room.
If he makes it to the hobgoblins he will smite it with his hammer, if not he will continue approaching hiding behind his shield

Re: Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Dungeon Master:
It would be approximately 40 some feet from the doorway to whatever the Hobgoblins were behind that a 2nd torch would have to be thrown at least that far.
The first torch landed roughly north of center of the room & apparently caught something on fire.
Entering the room will give you a wider view of the back as well.
You will need to be careful not to go through Victor's Illusion!
Wexley enters the room looking & aiming both sideways for additional attackers, sees none.
Wexley then scans the back & sees a bit of a glow behind what appears to be stacked furniture along the back wall, just high enough for hobgoblin archers to shoot over, near the northern corner.
Borum does pretty much the same & also notices the glow in the northern corner, coming between the stacked furniture.

Did any of Lutha's three recent sling shots and Wolfram's two thrown axes actually hit anything or not ? Can't figure that out from the summary posts.

Kormak will aim at the same space as the original torch then.PyroArrow wrote:Dungeon Master:

Dungeon Master:
Lutha & Wolfram do not know if their sling bullets or axes hit anything just yet.
Kormak's torch lands a few feet south of the previous torch, obviously igniting something.
Things will get smokey in here!

If it starts to get too smoky Maya will order a retreat, closing the door and hopefully suffocating or smoking out the goblins not yet dead.
Can those without infravision see the still moving goblins with the added torch?

Idonea: "I'd rather not stroll into the teeth of an ambush, especially in the dark. We need to either draw them out somehow, or find another way around.
"We could withdraw and lie in wait, setting up our own ambush. That could take awhile, however. Or we could try the next cave entrance down."

Lutha
To all that, half-crazed Lutha replies "We must deliver the blessing of the flame!"
Wolfram
quickly glances along the floor for wind patterns. Which direction does the smoke seem to drift ?

Wolfram notes the flame & smoke fan from east to northwest.
Re: Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Borum stops and takes the time to actually assess the fire. What is on fire, how big is the fire, is it possible to put out
Wexley continues to hold his bow ready and waiting for the figures to pop up from behind their spot again, walking backwards away to the door

Mort "everyone it would be smarter to get out of the room and shut whatever is in there in with the fire it would be a blessing not a curse for the fire to do use a favor."

Maya also begins heading backwards, corralling those that went through the doorway and are just standing around back through the doorway and away from the smoke. he never turns her back to the archers and will continuously have her shield raised for another arrow volley. "Back! We can discuss what to do about this when we aren't in the middle of smoke."
She leaves Borum to inspect the fire if he truly wants to

Wolfram
ponders the smoke flow patterns: "Hmm....if cave air is warmer than the outside air, air flow will be upward and out. Could there be a northwestern exit just beyond this door? Improbable - but not impossible."
