To the North
Finding himself heavily covered by the ruthless lizard beasts, Grimnail enters a blood frenzy thrusting his curved blade wildly. "If weez gonna die'ere," he growls to his comrades, "Let us be ferever in der nightmares!" The half-orcs steel slices through the lizard scales and another beast falls dead.

Strom launches another attack with his bastard sword but finds fighting in such cramped corners difficult. With Kaltar at his back at the mouth of the single-wide passageway, the knight dares only take a half step in that direction so as to not interfere with any actions the cleric may take.

Kaltar takes a careful step south, backing Darrin up in the process. The congestion as the two parities fight for position at the mouth of the intersection leaves little opportunity for the cleric to find a good opportunity to attack and his rushed attempt misses badly.

For Grimnail, Strom and Kaltar only!
The three of you, at the north end of the passage, are able to see that several -- you guess three -- troglodytes seem to flee down the side passageway to the right. You can attempt to communicate this fact to your fellow party members behind you, but this is not something they would otherwise notice.
One of the troglodytes in the second ranks (c3) climbs over the fallen form of Grimnail's latest victim and lunges at the barbarian, and it's only Grimnail's otherworldly dexterity that is able to keep the otherwise impressive attacks from causing him harm. And again as the second opponent he's facing (c2) pokes its stick at the half orce and misses as well.

Kaltar's opponent (a9) is next to move and pursues the cleric into the passageway. The beast is unable to land a successful blow, but does manage to squeeze into the tunnel ahead of Strom.

While its target is still within range, the troglodyte facing off against Strom (a9) jabs at the knight, hoping to send the tip of its javelin deep into the paladin's core, but the knight is able to deflect the incoming weapon with his shield.

---

Stuck in the Middle
The halfling sees a window, however small, along the cave's walls. "I could fire an arrow right thru that little space there and probably hit one of thos..." he thinks. Then he sees Epsilon at the end of his targeted tunnel and he lets the idea fade. Daggers ready, Shannigans nervously waits.

Fimmion continues to debate the merit of blinding one of the creatures with one of his magics, but decides the action will be most effective once their is a more clear path to the south.

---

To the South
Epsilon switches from melee, hoping to use his divine abilities to cause the creature he's facing to fall back. "Run!" the cleric commands in common, a tongue apparently not understood by the scaly opponent as it appears momentarily confused as it appears, at least to it, as if the cleric is dropping his defenses, and it issues a lightning fast strike with its javelin, sticking a new, unwanted hold in the cleric (-6hp).

The beast squaring off against Gwillt pokes at the ranger but is unable to connect as Gwillt twists out of the way.

Ever bold, Ewell forces his way past O'rek and into the front ranks... and the business end of a javelin. While not critical, the puncture wound is severe enough that it does send the knight collapsing to the ground, nearly crushing Shannigans in the process. (Sorry, man. I hated to have to type this out.) :(

O’rek springs forward and strikes out with his warhammer at the creature that just struck down Ewell and heavily wounds the beast, but it does not fall.

Gwillt sees... a glimmer of hope as Ewell enters the southern fray, but that hope is quickly dashed as the young knight is witnessed falling into a motionless heap. The ranger slashes out with is scimitar unsuccessfully, and clings to fact that at least there doesn't appear to be anymore trogs behind their current opponents at the intersection.

Out of the corner of his eye, Gwillt sees the kid go down. "No!" he shouts, swinging at the trog in a rage!

Initiative [1d10] = 7
(harumph... my initiative rolls suck these days)

To Hit, Scimitar [1d20+4] = 16+4 = 20
Damage, Scimitar [1d8+3] = 3+3 = 6
(But I'll take those rolls...)

O'rek struggles with the decision to advance and beat on a trog versus stopping to help his fallen comrade, Little choice faces him with brutality both behind him and before him....

War hammer attack [1d20+2] = 16+2 = 18 (THACO=20)

Warhammer Damage (+1 weapon, +3 str dmg) = [1d4+4] = 3+4 = 7

"Fim you may have company . 3 look to be coming to you. Can you warn Gwilt and the others?" Kaltar hollers down the passage. He then swings at the interposing Trog:

Mace Action To Hit [1d20] = 5 Dam [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7

The curse of the north (Strom) is catching!!

sorry :(
I'm sure it's not a lot of consolation, but per the rules on the 'Cleric' class, Epsilon will heal a minimum of 3 hit points:

Notes:
1. All "Cure [severity] Wounds" spells will heal a minimum of 1 damage per level of the caster (You will roll results normally and raise any rolled amount up to the casters level if the rolled amount is lower.)

Hey, it's something.

Maybe I'm missing something, but O'rek is level 1 ;( - wouldn't that be only 1hp healing?

* O'rek already declared an attack this round: here
* Epsilon, a few posts later, declared his intent to cast CLW on himself and asked someone to roll on his behalf.
* I assumed that is what your roll was for, raven4544.

Hey, if that roll was an "accident" and couldn't have happened, I could always roll for Epsilon. Can't guarantee an improvement, but it also can't get any worse.

To anyone who did not notice Ewell falling onto the halfling, it may appear that the cavalier is moving, as the hobbit struggles to get out from underneath. Having freed himself of being completely crushed by the human, Shanny will attack (b9) in support of Orek.
dagger [1d20] = 16 dmg [1d6] = 2

edited, after realizing that he was not completely crushed
and again after proofreading a double post

Fimmion relays the warning to the group to the south about 3 swamp beasts potentially making it past the northern group. The cook tries to help Ewell and Shannigans back up with his one free arm, but finds the task too difficult considering his physical strength. With that said, he gently puts down the light source and tries his best in binding Ewell's wound with some torn cloth, hoping to save him from near death. Once that is taken care of, he will try to help get Shannigans out from underneath the fallen warrior. "Don't give up on me now my friends, you two have yet to taste my delicious cooking, and that's a promise I'm trying to keep!"

Even a child that receives one bit of praise has the ability to excel in a single talent, and those who receive regular encouragement can feel confidence, achieve success, and become leading members of society. I was just checking in quickly to mention how I didn't get a chance to update the game this morning (I got sucked into reading bits of Hedge's Forgotten Realms Adventures game), but the timing of my slackature worked out well because it appears I am still missing action rolls from Grim and Strom, plus an initiative roll for the northern passage.

Strom relies on Kaltar to take care of the trog the slipped behind him and keeps his focus on the three he is still facing. He continues to try to time his attacks with Grim's while both continue their withdrawal into the hallway.

Attack:
[1d20] = 1

This is just getting stupid now. Strom can't hit anything and now a natural 1. If Strom dies don't bother to help him, he is a useless shit and deserves to die at this point.

The only way he could be more useless is if he manages to hit and kill Grim with this fumble.

Last call for an action from Grim.

There was a roll by tooley in die roller where he switched to dual hand axes, but I don't see a corresponding post about it? Unless I hear otherwise, I will just use those rolls.

DM- just remember that cooks natively know how to tie up a roast and how to make dressing... so binding a wound should be an near automatic success. Right? :D
