I am thinking that there must be a way of getting the bad air out of here. How would we be able to survive otherwise?

It is possible that we just haven't found it yet.

I suggest that we open the rest of the cat room doors, looking around a little more. If we don't find some kind of a solution for the bad air soon after, we can start trying some of these mentioned ideas.

I would hate to waste spells that we might need later if our solution is simply right around the next unsearched corner.

At the point you stopped before the pit in the corridor, your torchlight did not extend far enough to see where it led. The part of the corridor you traversed was level. The map shows it is likely to lead to the jaguar room, but is unconfirmed.

I would say that find traps spell more useful to us. I am hopeful that the poison air be gone soon.

Hi,
I'm going away for a long weekend. I don't expect to be online. I'll be back on Wednesday.

Please NPC my character if I'm holding things up. Azoth wants to find non-poisonous air asap! :)

Thanks. Have a good weekend, everyone.

Do the rollers show as traps to Azoth's eyes?

Do you guys think Grog is dropping a major hint on us here with his last post? Maybe the dagger is the relic we seek. Should we make our way back to the top of the ziggurat? I seem to recall Grog mentioning something about the top of the pyramid a long time ago. He said that he didn't like to give hints and that this would be the only one he would give. Do you guys remember this as well?

Actually I was just recapping so as to remind folks that there is a known exit, that being the way you came in, and a rationale for the continued exploration. Sometimes a PC says something and I'm not sure it's recalled. The rationale is staying alive (inside as well as escape from the outside threats), finding some sort of totem objects to help the peaceful natives, and of course shrine-plundering for personal gain.

You were on your way by ship to a distant dungeon (from a map) for treasure-hunting, when you were ship wrecked here (per the Prologue thread). The rationales to continue are only that; there is of course freewill and you could exit and see what happens. Much like any module.

As far as objects, there was the black rod from the statue, which Azoth tangled with. It's wrapped up and I think Siavel is carrying it? Siavel has one of the three rune-inscribed 10,000 gp eye gem from the giant skull, which is big treasure though of unknown property. Siavel also has a dagger which he has commented is something unusual.

As seen from the overall map, you have explored most of the inside ziggurat itself and are now underneath and to the east (a guess).

I won't say anymore about the past hint, letting it be pondered as it may (or not.)

Gradations of success in this adventure depend on close reading of the text and resulting actions.

I must say that I am terrible at remembering hints and clues. I admit that I am in too many games on here and don't devote enough time to any one of them. (including my own)

I was thinking that we could explore a bit more down here and if we can't figure out a way to clear out the poison air, we could head back up to the surface. I wish we would have had one of the thieves disarm that dragon steam trap. :|

Sounds good to me, OM. Let's check around here for a bit longer, then head back up. What's everyone else think?

I say what harm could it do? Lets give it a try? Take the dagger and heart to the top?

I vote lets stay down here longer.

Stabbing a heart with a sacrifiical aztec dagger sounds like a sure way to summon an evil god or demon.

stabbing the heart here at the alter may yes indeed be a bad thing but perhaps taking it and the dagger to the top of this tomb is smarter? I d k I am out of ideas in all honesty.

Yes, there is the desiccated heart found in the gibcuatotl room.

There is a treasure listing in the DM Log thread, at

The party hasn't seen many rodents about.
