Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Re: Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Dungeon Master:
Ok, Maya's attempt to open the door works!
This however sends arrows her way!
Arrow #1: [1d20] = 20 This is a hit! For [1d6x2] = 1x2 = 2! Lucky!
Arrow #2: [1d20] = 13
Party Actions!

angles his shield for maximum forward protection of upper body. His next thought is to consider if he will be able to fish out some throwing axes in the midst of this crossfire.
Lutha
startled, shouts out: "Fools come to those who wait, ha ha !" in goblin, then starts loading his sling

Never said what sent arrows might be a trap not enemies.
Mort takes his crossbow back out incase the arrows are not from a trap.
Kormak in the rear of the march prepares for a rear attack just in case.

And they're probably not goblins either! We're talking Lutha here, with his own way of interpreting the universeNever said what sent arrows might be a trap not enemies.

Ewat and Idonea bring their bows to bear, shooting if there is something to shoot at.
Ewat fumbles with his bow!
Short-range Bow: [1d20+3] = 1+3 = 4 Damage: [1d6x2] = 5x2 = 10
Idonea has a little more luck:
Bow: [1d20] = 19 Damage: [1d6] = 2

Maya, Taking an arrow graze to the shoulder she hefts her shield in front of her to protect from arrows as she scans the room for any enemies. Once taking note of everything she will advance into the room so the others can follow her.
If the odds are stacked against them though, another ogre or something crazy, Then Maya will back peddle slowly with the shield still raised, barking out, "Back! Back! Use the doorway as a choke-point!

wins this year's Fantasy Universe Sling Shot Contest by zapping away a lethal Sling to hit: [1d20+1] = 20+1 = 21, damage with bullet vs S/M opp: [1d4+2] = 1+2 = 3 / damage with bullet vs L opp: [1d6+2] = 3+2 = 5
with such a roll, let's hope there's a target

Dungeon Master:
When Maya dodged the 2 arrows, the others fired into the now opened doorway into a darkened room, only the light from their torches bleed a bit into whatever is beyond the doorway.
Now to see if those rolls hit anything!

moves forward, as soon as Maya's moving forward creates a space. Now with throwing ax in hand and mace clipped on belt. What can he see over the group's shoulders ?
Lutha
will probably cause even more grunts ahead with his 2nd super mega sling shot in a row Sling to hit: [1d20+1] = 19+1 = 20, damage with bullet vs S/M opp: [1d4+2] = 3+2 = 5 / damage with bullet vs L opp: [1d6+2] = 4+2 = 6

Mort tosses in a lit torch to better illuminate the area.
Kormak prepares for anything as rear guard of the party.

Dungeon Master:
When the torch is thrown into the room by Mort, whom stood to the side of the door prior to throwing it, along with everyone else to either side, after they saw what happened with Maya,
the torch lands somewhere in the room.
Who will dare to take a look inside the room now? Nothing comes rushing out or anything at the moment.

Maya begins to advance into the room, shield up to cover from arrows as he advances, sword in hand.
Victor waits for the reports on what is in the room.

Ewat peers into the room, keeping as much cover as possible.

again, tiptoes forward, into the space created by Maya moving forward. Shield on left arm, throwing ax in hand. He is still curious about what he can see over the group's shoulders ?
And which way the cave draft blows ?

As Maya attempts to enter the doorway again with shield out front, she is met this time by 2 Bardiches, from either side of the doorway, which startle her, wolfram & Ewat!
Creature #1 Bardiche: To Hit: [1d20] = 8 Misses Maya!

Idonea and Ewat fire into the darkness, aiming towards where they would expect the wielder of polearm to be.

Maya thrusts her sword towards where the bardiche wielder should be.
Longsword: [1d20] = 10 Damage: S/M[1d8+1] = 7+1 = 8, L[1d12+1] = 10+1 = 11

Re: Chapter 11: Anxiously Contemplating the Hobgoblins!
Mort will only take a shot when a open shot is available on the enemy but not if his friends are in the way.
Crossbow, Light Hit[1d20 +3] = 13+3 = 16 Dmg[1d4] = 3
Kormak puts away his sword and takes out the short bow that he thought he gave to Choe. He like Mort will take aim but not fire unless he has a good clear shot on the enemy.
Short Bow [1d20 +1] = 4+1 = 5 to hit [1d6 +2] = 3+2 = 5 dmg
Short Bow [1d20 +1] = 3+1 = 4 to hit [1d6 +2] = 5+2 = 7 dmg
