Mort & Kormak are no longer in sight of the other party members and have taken all of their gear. Unless the DM states otherwise. They did leave their horses.

maybe but likely not since everyone would rather constantly bicker and complain. :P It's called we need a leader because this is getting crazy..... can't have more than maybe 2 people agree on one plan and then we get about 4 plans and nobody willing to do anything.....

While looking up about torches & the distance one can see with them & for how long i found this:
How far does a torch let you see in reality? Consider this snippet from a Scientific American Supplement:

"Torches consist of a bundle of loosely twisted threads which has been immersed in a mixture formed of two parts, by weight, of beeswax, eight of resin, and one of tallow. In warm, dry weather, these torches when lighted last for two hours when at rest, and for an hour and a quarter on a march.

A good light is obtained by spacing them 20 or 30 yards apart." This indicates a bare minimum radius of visible illumination of 30 feet (half of 20 yards), maybe 45 feet (half 30 yards); possibly even 60 or 90 feet (20 or 30 yards itself) depending on how liberal the above usage of "good" is taken.
Also, there is the fumes/smoke from the torch to deal with!

In the game i will use the 15 ft distance & maybe the hour & a quarter when moving/searching inside a cave/dungeon space or on the march.

Nordbo, Lutha would not be wearing chain mail or carrying a shield since he is also a magic-user! Unless you used up all your memorized spells & wished to put them on afterwards!

The leader is asking for opinions and ideas. Leader does not always come up with every plan after all.

I agree, setting a trap is all well and good but if nothing comes out then we are just twiddling our thumbs until more rocks are thrown at us. being more careful and not splitting the group up like last time should be nicely, stay together and stay uniformed, everyone watch each others backs.
