Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
The alpha is obviously less than impressed with your offers of freedom. It is apparent that he has thought that freedom was possible only to have it turned against him. He simply turns his hind quarters to you and walks back further into the cave.

Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
Frustrated by her inability to persuade the alpha male's cooperation, Leaf turns to follow her companions. A few feet from the wolves, she stops and offers a silent prayer for healing for her wounds...although it doesn't amount to much, she feels a little better.

Erevan follows Craw, preparing a Ray of Frost in his mind.
These are ghouls. They hang out in graveyards, they have long tongues, and they eat people.

Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
As you move down the hall, you see light coming from a chamber at the end. The sounds of someone talking ends as you approach. As the talking ends, you all smell an almost over-powering nauseous stench emanating from the chamber. The flickering of torchlight reveals some large four-legged shapes moving about the room.

Does Erevan recognize the nature of the voice (human, goblin, etc.)?

Vincentio Senereno [Wizard - AC 10 - HP 5]:
Vincetio's hands tighten his grip on his dagger, as he leans against a wall, trying to discern anything more about the voice & 4-legged shadows.

Most definitely goblin sounding though you do not recognize the words themselves.tumblingdice wrote:Does Erevan recognize the nature of the voice (human, goblin, etc.)?

Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
Leaf swallows hard and tries not to gag at the putrid smell. Gripping her scimitar a little tighter she readies her mind for a simple spell she learned early in her training.

Craw [Fighter - AC 17 - HP 13]
With a grimace, Craw creeps forward keeping his side to the wall. He too tries to make out something more about the strange shaped creatures.

Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
NOTE: Craw and Erevan recognize the stench to be the same as the stench they smelled when they attempted to burn the juice found earlier in the cave.
Craw is the first to spot the creatures as they exit the chamber and enter the corridor. They are large (human-sized) beetles. Their carapaces are thick and spiked and they move quickly towards you.
