OOC Discussion II: The Return
Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
1. All aligned undead radiate evil, vampires especially so, regardless of current form or intention. In Ravenloft, the auras of low-level undead may not be discernible from the general background "radiation" of evil, but vampires are both strong and undead. Their auras will be unmistakable.
2. The Vampyre is a mysterious, almost mythical creature (less mythical to Castran and Bragar, alas). There are many theories and beliefs about the weaknesses and limitations of vampires. They are just that—theories and beliefs—until tested. (In other words: you don't know).
Edit: Aligned undead radiate evil. Neutral undead do not.

Hi Zhym,Zhym wrote:I'm going to say no on that. It's too much like backdating the rest and study. If you'd posted that Agax would go to bed at 6:00 (who manages to go to sleep right at 6, anyway?) and have someone wake him at 10:00, that's one thing. But this seems more like realizing after the fact that there would have been time to rest and study if everything were timed just right.
It's not backdating.

I posted no less than 6 times that he was going to rest and meditate asap.

Agax wants to find a quiet place to recover his spells.Inferno wrote:Agax Gryyg, game mage:

"It's rather charming!" Agax smiled at the accommodations. "Cozy too. Now if you would excuse me, is there a room where I might meditate in private please? I should very much like the recover my magic power."Inferno wrote:Agax Gryyg, game mage:
Agax will heal Gragog and Lar before he locks himself away in a quiet, windowless room to meditate, pray and dream of distant, fabled Urth.
After he has rested and recovered his magic power, Agax would be happy to take a turn on watch.Inferno wrote:Agax Gryyg, game mage:
The dreaming wizard will take last watch, after he's slept and restored his spells.Inferno wrote:Agax Gryyg, game mage:
The wizard slept and dreamt ....

Once he heard their foe was a vampire, and after they had killed his wolves, and were seen in town, Agax was very interested in restoring spells in anticipation of an evening encounter: 'The sun would soon be setting, and he needed to recover his offensive spells.'
Hence his one-track mind on the topic.

Can he get back any spells at all? Thanks.

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
I get that he wanted to recover his spells. But without something more explicit, I'm not buying that he'd been planning on being able to cast those spells at 2:00 AM. Sorry.
Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
Sure. He got all the sleep he'll need when the knocking started, but he hasn't memorized or prayed for any spells yet. If he avoids whatever is going on downstairs, he should be able to recover his spells.
Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
Ok. That's what he'll do then.
If the party starts screaming for their lives, he'll come running, but barring something of that level, he'll keep his one-track mind on track.

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
I have been having a problem with my charactersheets for the last couple of weeks. My front page of my PC Attributes on a few of my keeps disappearing. This is the second time Bragars info has disappeared.
DM; Hopefully I remember my info correctly. If you see something that is incorrect let me know.

I noticed that. I thought maybe you were about to rage quit.
If the info reappears, could you add the basic stats as text to your post in the character sheet thread?

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
I remembered what I could. TONIXX is suppose to send me the info that is saved somewhere in the data profiles. But he has not yet.

FYI: I'll be on vacation through Sunday, so I won't be able to update this game until Monday at the soonest.

Bragar stayed he was placing the glyph at the door not on it to be fair.

After deciding the visit the smithy in the morning, Scarlett will take some candle wax and use it to trace a faint outline upon the entrance door, incanting some verse about 'Samaric angels who encamp around those who fear her'. She turns to the others and states she has cast a 'Glyph of Warding' spell (explosive damage) upon the door frame and that anyone who enters will get more than they bargained for. Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
It's going to be a few more days before I can update. Sorry about the delay.
Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
No worries. While you were away we killed the dracula and cleared out the castle saved our friends and looted the place. We then found a way out of the mist and are at a new city to spend our fortunes.
) Everyone picked up 300k XP and are ready for the next adventure. LOL.

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
That's weird. My notes say "join the army of the dead" where you wrote "killed the dracula..." and everything after. Huh.

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
but my notes say that we defeated strahd already and we own his castle now? Huh strange.

My noItes said that we defeated Strahd. All became lords of the land from the riches we gained. I am lord of under the mountains.

Re: 9. Five Months Later
I finally got a chance to look back at this. Two PCs put glyphs on a "door." Scarlett asked about this:Storm11 wrote:Bragar stayed he was placing the glyph at the door not on it to be fair.

Bragar responded:Stirling wrote:Scarlett warded the front door down the corridor so I presume Bragar warded the kitchen exit door?
Scarlett's glyph is on the front door (sorry, not the frame—you need a surface wide enough to fit the sigil on. A door, floor, or wall will do; a door frame will not). Bragar's is on the back door. Castran's stones only provide warnings. Those are all the wards of which I'm aware.Dram wrote:Bragar- Yes Scarlett every entrance big or small has been warded.
I'll have an update posted later tonight or tomorrow.
