Aquar will arm wrestle you for the plate mail :) He turned it down before, not feeling worthy of it so soon in the group. But with new circumstances, and having 8 HP, he'll take every point of protection he can get.
As the longest standing current party member who can wear armour (that is, out of just him), I think Aquar should get first choice...

Rhys will wait to see what is up with the sword with the chain wrap before he determines if he will stick with the one he has.

Al, GSW: I started Wyzard off with 4000 XP since he's an elf. I don't think it is fair that new players start out with more XP. So, both Aquar and Rhys now have 4000 XP. Rhys gains 4 hp, Aquar 5.

I feel like I'm pulling my weight already if the party just leveled.

Since it looks like I'm getting the +1 chain, I'll put that on my list later tonight. I'll lose some AC, but its worth the lowered encumbrance.

Indeed, you made 8 months of adventuring superfluous...

Thank you! Or is this an April Fool’s joke

Aquar gets 1 additional weapon proficiency, which I’ll put to throwing hammer (Skilled proficiency, 1d4+2). I’ll mention seeking training in IC.

On encumbrance, does plate +1 weigh half or less than regular plate? If half:

Kit: 882 (-250 if plate +1 is half weight, to 632 cn)
Treasure: 61 gp, 5 sp (6.15 cn)
Total: 888.15 (-250 if plate +1 is half weight, to 638.15 cn)

Does my 20’ encumbrance improve?

Character sheet updated.

With the additional weapon feat for level 3, Rhys will begin training normal sword to Skilled proficiency.

At least he now has something to do with his free time...

Okay, it looks as if MonsterMash will be joining us soon, and phil said he'll be along as soon as he gets done with a business trip. Looks like we're up to five players again. I'm going to go ahead and roll out a few days, for weapon training purposes. There are still some items with the Guildmage that will be identified in just under a week's time. If you guys have anything to add or do just let me know and I'll retcon it in.

Oh, and guidelines for weapons training can be found in the House Rules thread. Essentially, the idea is that a character can spend a maximum of two hours per day training while adventuring. If there is downtime, such as now, a PC can spend a full 8 hours training. It takes a minimum of 32 hours to become Skilled in a weapon. Training with someone who is one step further in the same weapon adds 10% to the chance, plus an additional 5% for each additional degree. You can find professional trainers who reduced the time required by 25%; I've decided that a professional weapon master can tutor a student using any weapon, not just ones the master is proficient in.

So, a character wanting to go from Basic to Skilled has a 20% chance of succeeding after 32 hour of study. Every additional 3 hours studied add 5% to the chance.

So. We have a dwarf, an elf, a mystic, a cleric, and whatever Phil brings in.

That's pretty balanced, actually. Pardon me for failing to follow through on the list of what magic items are in the pile, but I just can't make sense of everything. It seems like you folks had everything extraordinarily organized up until now, though.

Looking back, it appears that my problem might be that the magic items I'm wondering about haven't actually been identified yet.

Jesus, I swear I'm not normally this confused by everything.

Yep, we need to pick some stuff from Myraal. Fortunately, it has already been paid for, since I'm pretty sure I don't have the coin we'd need to pay for the services...

Ok think I'm nearly done with the character sheet, I just have to do a bit of background.

Let me know when to come in to the IC thread.

Jump right in whenever. If it's cool with everyone, I'll just assume you guys head out to Guildmage to get all the other items; don't forget about the inscription around the door, that you were going to see if Myraa could translate for you.

Cool. I am mostly along for the ride at this point, but I'm ready to have magic items show up.

(Incidentally, turned in my big writing project yesterday. Head is now above water.)

Congrats, Wyzard, that's really cool. Good for you.

So, I went ahead and figured you guys would go to Myraal's to pick up the items there. It will be night by the time you get back to Threshold. I will award XP for the opals in a bit; there are still some items that could conceivably by sold. Potentially the spear, but there is both the cat's head and pelt as well as the cat's claws (please note that the claws can function now as semi-magical talismans, or can be wrought into magical items. They are essentially from a legendary creature. The rules for wearing a claw as talisman can be found here: viewtopic.php?p=89759#p89759. I know that Rhys has one, not sure about Aquar. I'm going to say that the group left 1d4+4=8 claws behind when they split. As curiosities, the claws will likely fetch 75 gp apiece. Someone wanting to use them as ingredients for spells may very well pay ten times that much.

Let me know if you need a more thorough breakdown of what items are left.

I forgot to mention about the sword: pricing oneself with the wire -- which only need happen once per day -- costs 1 hp.

Huh. That is pretty neat.

So, can you prick yourself first thing in the morning, and then save the four rounds of Dex 18 for the afternoon?
