From the DM's: Dart 5 sp each 1d4 R F,T 1-3 pr gear slot <-- All Classes can throw a Dart!

It seemed to me that 15 silver will only get you three darts (at 5 silver each) - so I went with that.

By all means have the nine but you'll need to clear the extra equipment slots on your character sheet to carry them all (at three darts per slot that's the three gear slots as you say).

Optimizing our collective equipment slots is no bad call e.g. do we all need flint & steel or just one of us?

Thats why I chose three, I optimized my stash.

I have three mind affecting spells and a dagger and staff, so some throwing dart support seemed useful

Leaving aside weapons and torches (2) I will carry the darts (9), rope and a grappling hook.

The party retreats from the Bowyers and into the street. The streets here are beginning to fill with people going about morning business. They have been told that they need to return to Guild Headquarters before they begin their expedition into the underground tunnels. Do you return to there now?

6/21: Morning and Afternoon

The party returns to the Guild room and spends some time getting prepared for the expedition.

Shortly after the noon meal Guild Master Harold Sikes calls them into his office for a meeting. Waiting with him are two people you vaguely recognize. The first is dressed in the robes and is from the Temple of Ord, she was one of the healers. The other you recognize as a guardsman who was giving the children a hard time the previous afternoon.

Sikes says, "This is Sister Rowan from the Temple of Ord and Guardsman Durant. They will be joining you on your expedition."

"I remember you from the healing rooms." Sister Rowan smiles and nods to you, "I hope my limited healing abilities will be un-needed in our venture, Ord willing."

The guardsman nods solemnly saying only, "Well met." He is wearing chainmail and has a spear in one hand with a short sword at his belt, his other hand is resting on a shield with the Duke's coat of arms painted on it. He wasn't wearing chain or carrying a shield when you saw him in the streets yesterday.

Sister Rowan:

"Yeah, the 'Touch me nots of Ord'.", Durant quirks his mouth and shakes his head at what Rowen said then leaning his shield against his leg holds out his hand, "I'll shake your hand though. I'm Salva Durant like Master Sikes said, and who are you?" Galreth notes Salva has a strong grip in his right hand to go along with the obvious muscles of his arms and shoulders.

She greets Sister Rowan a little awkwardly but cheerfully. Nonetheless she observantly offers no more than a slight bow "Sister Rowan, we value your support. Well met - I am Vesper. Oh, your robes are very fine but have a care with then around my comrade Draven" she confides "he's liable to stretch the seams out on the shoulders". She reassures the priestess "Don't worry he's quite harmless".

6/21 afternoon

Greetings are exchanged all around.

Your impression of Guardman Durant is that he is not happy to be assigned this task by his bosses, but is the sort of person that completes his tasks...usually by bulling his way through them.

Sister Rowen seems much more friendly, but Vesper and Galreth note that her smiles don't reach her eyes. To everyone else she seems genuinely friendly. Your general impression is that she would prefer to be in the Healing Hall rather than going on some 'adventure', but she 'has her orders' from the Bishop and will comply with them, as she always does.

Master Sikes eventually breaks in with, "I think everyone should get a good night's sleep and begin early tomorrow morning."

"Yeah, I agree." says Durant, "I scouted around the outer walls this morning and there's an opening in the old drains near the North Gate. I say, that's where we should go in. I'll met everyone at the North Gate when it opens at the cock's crow. Remember to bring plenty of torches."

When they retire to bed at the Guild Vesper shares with her comrades "I get the impression that Guardsman Durant won't take instruction let alone any advice from anyone once we're in the dark. If he becomes difficult just leave him to me. Likewise "Sister Uptight" won't be straying anywhere near the boundaries of her instructions from the Bishop. I'll buy two more torches from the Commissary so Durant can't moan. That means I'm not taking in rations or flint and steel but I don't think I should need either".

(OOC: She buys as above. 1gp deducted from party funds).

Gaurbal brightens "That's a good idea, Vesper. Some of us could carry enough rations for us all, to last a day. That would mean we could carry more torches. I could carry another flask of oil...how much money do we have left from last night?"

There are 4 PCs, plus two NPCs, making 6. Rations for 6 take up 2 slots. So two of us carry the rations (1 slot per person), and that frees up slots for the rest to carry other things. In Gaurbal's case another flask of oil for his lantern. Not that he has any money. Gaurbal is happy to be one of those carrying rations.
