Sorry. wolfpack. That's three days. I'm eager to get one more post in before the holidays. I'll NPC Adrock and move it along.

Hey everyone,
As the post-apocalyptic heroes bravely descend into the abyss of the xenomorphs, this seems an opportune moment to pause the game for the holidays.
Thanks for another year of great fun, everyone. I really enjoy playing with you all.
Merry Christmas, happy holidays and happy new year to you and your families.
See you on the other side.

Things have changed. I leave for
five minutes...

Connak quickly shifts out of the path of the acidic blood by sheer instinct. Again, by sheer reflex, he strikes out, hitting only empty air.
Hi Redwarrior,
As per the map, Connak is further than 1" away from his target, so normally he cannot attack this round (see house rules on melee and movement). If the combat was horizontal, he could "charge" but here he's climbing a vertical shaft.
However since you didn't post last round, I'll give you two actions this round:
1) Move into melee range.
2) Attack.
You don't need to do or change anything. I'm just clarifying for future consideration. Thanks.

I am sorry but I have to go on hiatus, some things are going on that just prevent me from being able to post regularly as of now.
Thanks for the heads up, wolfpack. I appreciate it and hope everything is okay.
I'll NPC Adrock a while. Every party needs a cleric!

Maskelyn
Maskelyn swipes at the burns on his arm, knowing his spell has faltered. He casts again-
Audible Glamer Sonitus Falsum!
From behind the creature, the voice of Bugs shouts
Hey! Baggy-Eyes! Up here, Doc!
Whatever the result, Maskelyn will start down the shaft ASAP, looking for an opening in the wall.
Hey Urson.
You posted 2 rounds of activity:
1: Cast spell
2: Start down the shaft ASAP, looking for an opening in the wall
I covered the first one in today's post. If you'd still like to execute the second one, just post it in your next IC actions. Thanks.

Sheriff Yul
"A corps member by their dress. We should help, maybe save her from being a corpse member."
He takes the belted relic and frisky her pockets and pouches in search of medicinal aids that may ease her pain.
Then suddenly another spout of body fluid drips over him, this time blood not acid.
Whoopsies.

Now I get to see how crits are done.
Hi Red.
So, as per the house rules, this game has neither critical hits nor fumbles in play. Sorry.
I do
have them in my (other*) horror game and I find they disadvantage the PCs in the long run. Which is in perfect keeping with that game's unrelenting tone of Lovecraftian misery and dread.
In my Lost City game, I asked the players what they preferred, and they voted against it.
Moving forward in this game, if the majority of you would like critical hits and fumbles I'm open to it.
*Once and Future Earth was advertised as a sci-fi dungeoncrawl but after exploring this game's
inspirations and seeing how it actually plays out, I've realized that I'm really running a sci-fi horror dungeoncrawl.
