Question: Does the spell Change Self allow the caster to change vocal intonations as well? It seems to me that Urdur is small enough to assume the guise of Amity Mantle using this spell. If so, could he imitate the demon childs voice? If not, would a casting of Audible Glamer allow him to do so?

If Urdur can pull this off, then perhaps he joins the cultists as "Amity," and orders them to go all Jim Jones up in here....

Thoughts??

Clever idea. :)

Change Self only alters appearance. And even then, only a 1' difference in height. Luckily, Urdur is a gnome. :D

Audible Glamour works for what you want, but the caster must concentrate on maintaining it. So maybe someone else is "Change Selfed?" Or some other illusion covers the visual component while Urdur concentrates on the audio?
Or something else?

Mouser has a few spells that could be useful here -> dancing lights, friends, ventriloquism. there seems to be a lot of people to try and fool though.

Bo has spells.

One in particular (Pyrotechnics) that could blind them all for a moment and extinguish the fire completely, (I think)

This should probably be planned out accordingly with any other actions though, so it doesn't have a negative effect on what any other characters might want to do.

He might want to use an Entangle first though, dropped between us and them, to slow down their attack, maybe?

Thoughts?

So we have two options as I see it. 1-try to trick the cultists with a fake Amity. 2-catch them off guard by extinguishing the fire and then entangling any pursuers.

I like plan 2 better.

We could set up for plan 2 and see how plan 1 works first too.

I am not really even sure what we might need to do here, but I don't think we should let this funky séance continue for too long. :?

Hey,
Just a quick note to say I'm extending the turn to allow you more time to build consensus around a deviously brilliant plan. :)

As always, let me know if there are any questions.

If we are 100 yards away......I assume that Bo is in range for his Pyrotechnics spell already? (160 yards, I believe)

Can he predict how long it would take for any of the wolves etc. to reach them at their current distance? Enough time to cast an Entangle? (3 segments)

Perhaps we can spread out a little and just go for this? I'm sure we have nothing to lose.

We have to set our priority target- I'm assuming that's the Demon Amity- and be sure of where she is. Once we know, we should trigger our diversion, get in, and grab her. The hard part is "what then?"
Jerome will argue for exorcising the demon from the child. I'm not sure that's feasible, given the number of cultists around. By the book, that's 1-100+ _turns._ I doubt we'll be able to convince the cultists to "let us go, or your demon queen gets it!"

Are we past the point of trying to spare the cultists/wolves/demon child? Saving them without killing them is a pretty tall order, and it hasnt worked well for us yet.

Let's not forget that the wolves earlier told us that the village contains hidden cultists as well. Even if we can get Amity and the others back safely, there's no guarantee we don't have a repeat of the burning barn.

I think it is entirely consistent for Good- and Neutral-aligned characters to cleanse this evil by exterminating it once and for all. Fool me once, and all that. What do you guys think?
