OOC Discussion II: The Return
Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
Five months later.... perhaps time for another save vs charm effects for our indomitable trio.....(errr oh yeah they have been dominated)... still if Helga is unaware of time and the strength of her prowess...?
Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
Your characters from the last excursion are NPCs now, if they live. At some point, you'll probably find out what happened to them. They might be in a condition that you could run your character as a PC again. But I wouldn't hold out hope that anyone charmed by a vampire and brought to Strahd will even be alive, much less in a position to be run as a PC again.
In the meantime, the dominable trio are basically "off the board" because knowing anything about what's happening to them would be spoilers for your current party.

Hi,
I'm going to be travelling for work from Monday morning til Thursday night, and will be unable to post regularly, if at all.
Feel free to NPC my character if you need to, to keep things moving.
Agax wants to find a quiet place to recover his spells.
Thanks,
Inferno

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
My internet is turned off until at least next week and I can only do stuff at the library or at work. So my posting rate is going to take a dive.

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
I think the clerics need to create a spell plan. I do not have a lot of experience with clerics. So any suggestions would help.

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
As far as the NPCs are concerned, Bogdana will typically devote most of her 1st-level spells to CLW, but not necessarily all of them (other first-level spells are useful too). Shinyah will memorize some healing spells, but they're second-level druid spells and he uses his healing primarily to keep his animals healthy. He might prepare extra CLWs depending on what other second-level spells he thinks he might need that day, but he would only use them on PCs just before resting for the night if his animals are all healthy.
That leaves Bragar, Scarlett, and Agax to help keep the party as healthy as possible.
Also, as I alluded to in the game thread, clerics in this game can treat everyone's HP status as known. Not in the sense that your characters know that there's such a thing as "hit points," of course, but clerics can tell who needs healing and how much is needed.
To speed things up in PbP, clerics should feel free to apply healing spells without asking if anyone wants to be healed. Part of being a cleric is making judgments as to who needs healing most.
Finally, I won't assume any healing. If you want to heal, say so and roll for it.
Fair enough?

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
Oh, one other thing. I try to keep the spell lists in the character summary post current. Anyone should be able to look at that post and see what spells anyone else has prepared and used. It's also the official list of what I think characters have prepared for the day, so it's worth keeping an eye on that post to make sure that the listed spells are what you think they should be,

Hi,
Sorry but I’m going to be offline again, for 5 days. Traveling to see family.
I’ll be back Monday.
Please NPC my character if you need to keep things moving. Thanks.
Agax wants to recover his spells, as you may have noticed.

Have a good trip!
BTW, spells can only be recovered after sleep. The recent posts for Agax suggested that he wanted to recover spells before sleeping, so I thought I'd clarify.

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
I say if we want to change the spells that we want for the next day we must inform you of the change and post them. I just remember it was hard at points to determine time inside the castle..

When the party has a chance to prepare spells, I'll make sure to ask all the casters for spell lists.
Each update post has a timestamp in the header. I usually remember to update it. The time is always the time at the start of the action in the post. The footer is always as of the end of whatever happens, BTW.

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
I'm going to say no on that. It's too much like backdating the rest and study. If you'd posted that Agax would go to bed at 6:00 (who manages to go to sleep right at 6, anyway?
) and have someone wake him at 10:00, that's one thing. But this seems more like realizing after the fact that there would have been time to rest and study if everything were timed just right.
Besides, recovering 3rd-level spells requires 6 hours of rest, not four. He's cast 11 total levels of spells, so he'll need two hours and forty-five minutes to memorize and pray for replacement spells. Agax needs a total of almost nine hours to rest and study spells, not six.
I also realized that I'd missed Agax using his last two CLWs, so I corrected HP total. Gragog is at full HP now. Lar, who got Agaxs's other CLW, is already at full HP now, so I applied the 4 points of healing to Petyr, who is also at full now.

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
I have a question pertaining to the detection of evil and I want to check an possible known or unknown possibility.
1. If a Vampire does not have evil intentions for the moment would they radiate evil enough to be detected by detect evil. For example in our current situation say the vampire is disguised as a traveling shoe sales person and is only intent on finding out the party make up and not to harm anyone just information gathering.
2. Is it myth or fact that a vampire can only come into a home/building if invited? Would this be known as a folk lore to the party members?
I realize this may not be the actual case for this encounter but if it is information the party members know then they should and could adhere to that information.
I hope that makes sense.
