Feanol
"I have to agree with you." She takes Keyon's hand and prepares for the jump.

Elnaerel
Will take a look first. Is there more tentacles coming out or are they to thick to come out of the grate, the one holding Darklin coming out of the broken part?
If that's they case, she'll rush and attack the one tentacle holding Darklin. If there are more, she'll hit the one closest to her, hoping it will distract the beast.
In any case:
Morning Star - To hit [1d20] = 11; Dmg S/M [2d4] = 3 L [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4
Meh.

The Dark Cave
Moonday, 22nd of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Hot, Humid, Buggy
Darklin draws his sword as he is yanked hard into the metal grating, the great black beast trying to get its fresh meal into its unseen maw.
4 dam He and Keg chop away at the tendril, severing it enough for the elf to get his leg free.
Another tentacle suddenly springs up from the black water under the broken grate, this one slightly smaller than the first. It writhes around in the air, slapping against Keg to seek out its prey while the wounded appendage retreats back into the murky blackness. Elnaerel takes a swing with her morningstar, but is unable to connect with the wiggling worm.
The non-combatant members of the group wisely stay out of the way, jumping back to the center rock to give the others enough room to fight, or escape.

Keg growls and swings for the new appendage!
Tactical retreat! Elnaerel, Shieldwall! Everyone else, get behind us!

The Knife
The Knife wobbles on the rock with Keyon and Feanol. "Well, obviously all four of us can't stay on here". He takes a deep breath and jumps to the other side.

Still holding tight to Keyon's hand she waits to jump with him.

Keyon
"Off we go, milady," he says before gathering himself to follow The Knife. He gives Feanol a glance to confirm she's ready, then leaps to the far side. Provided they land safely, he'll quickly assess their surroundings to be certain no dangers lie in wait.

Darklin
Darklin feeling his leg break free hauls ass back behind the shield line.
Let's get out of here before it breaks through!!
Sheaths long sword and unshoulders bow.

Elnaerel quickly gets her shield ready and starts retreating while facing the monster, next to Keg.

The Dark Cave
Moonday, 22nd of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Hot, Humid, Buggy
The Knife, Keyon, and Feanol all make it across the hazardous rock formations again, setting feet on solid ground where the area looks free of any more danger.
Darklin back pedals away from the tentacles as fast as he can on the slippery floor, while Elnaerel gets her shield out in front of her as commanded.
Keg calls for a retreat but instead moves closer to the beast, trying to attack the newly arrived threat. He hits it squarely but isn't able to sever it completely when the tentacle whips back around at the huge fighter, slapping him alongside his head.
3 dam A third appendage suddenly appears between the gaps in the bars, but it fails to make contact with the lone fighter.

Keg
He grunts at the blow and grits his teeth, wishing he could hurt the damn beast but takes the more practical strategy now that everyone is behind him and backs out with his shield up. If anything comes within reach, he will lash out but continue working his way backward.
Long Sword [1d20+1] = 2+1 = 3 S DMG: [1d8+3] = 6+3 = 9 L DMG: [1d12+3] = 4+3 = 7

Keyon
Keyon readies his rope, holding one end loosely in his hand with several feet coiled in the other hand. If any of the fighting folk slip on their way back across, he'll be ready to cast them a line and pull them in.

Elnaerel thinks about helping Keg, but once he sees the burly fighter back down, following his own advice, she decides against it, relieved that he's decided to leave the place.
She keeps protecting the rear while backing down with her shield raised.

The Knife
The Knife eyes the pool across the tunnel. The idea that the tentacles might emerge from there too makes his skin crawl. He calls out to the others. "Hurry! Quick! Let's go!"

Feanol
"Thank you Keyon" she will say softly to him, and then she'll take a position watching the front of the cage. Knives and spell ready if any threat should appear.

Darklin
We need to hurry out of here. It may be able to access the round room. If we can't get passed it we may not get out. I will keep it busy with my bow until everyone is across. Yell to me and I will run back to the room. Until then I will keep it distracted until everyone is across.
He draws his bow and starts firing into the Black Water through the grate while backing up the hall.
[1d20+3] = 19+3 = 22 Long bow attack
[1d6] = 4 Arrow Damage
[1d20+3] = 20+3 = 23 Long bow attack Crit
[1d6] = 1 Arrow Damage
OOC- two arrows lost forever. Struck from sheet.

The aggressors quickly learn the limits of the tentacles reach, so they are eventually able to simply keep away from their grasp. While the others escape the room, Darklin fires two arrows into the black arms, sending another below the grate before he too follows the others across the watery obstacle.
Soon all of the party is safely across, assembled back in the dark damp tunnel beyond. The Knife watches the other holes in the rocky floor intently, but he sees no threats emerge.

Darklin
Darklin slumps to the floor against the cave walls after the Adrenaline rush has worn off. Laying his bow across his lap.
This damned island is going to kill me yet. Anyone able to do any healing? I need to clean up these wounds. They are covered in some kind of sticky slime. But I am not looking forward to doing it in Salt water.

Keyon
"Anything for the lady." The irrepressible elf, his ardor undampened by stench and tentacles, winks at Feanol and draws his sword. He moves ahead and cautiously advances toward the mouth of the cavern, eyes open for whatever left those small tracks he saw on the way in.
