Even worse, standard gargoyle morale is 11.

The party despairs as the situation looks dire. Heingist and Bandy lie dying in the grasses. Markd is grappled and being carried skyward by a gargoyle, his sword lost in the field below, as Allmond stands alone over the prostrate bodies of his companions against the second gargoyle. Fingers pulls back his bow while running once more, trying to send another shaft at the stony foes, but his bowstring snaps! (critical fumble)

Armed only with his golden knife, Markd swipes awkwardly at the claws which grip him, missing. He then twists to free his shoulder and thrusts straight upward into his captor's chest. The knife sinks deep into its flesh, like thrusting into pond water. A great gash opens up and sunlight bursts forth! The beast drops Markd -- again -- and he rolls to safety. The Gargoyle, meanwhile, howls in dismay as its flesh unravels along the seam cut by the knife, its entire form decomposing into a burst of pure sunlight which illuminates the sky, then grows dark once more.

Allmond stands over his companions, Bandy bleeding profusely (-2), as the other gargoyle dives at him. He winds up and cracks it -- HARD -- with the iron-banded quarterstaff. The gargoyle explodes into pea-sized gravel with another tremendous thunderclap, scattering across the ground.

Miraculously, the fight is over. Allmond bends down and ministers to Bandy before he can lose yet more blood. He then prays over Hengeist as his fellow cleric, restoring him to groggy consciousness. "I regret to say, I'm quite spent for the day," he tells Hengist in a tired voice, "If you could pray for our small companion."

Date: 10:10pm, 19 July 2021
Light: Moonlight (-2)
Effects: None
Injuries: Bandy (dying, stabilized), Hengeist (serious injury), Markd (serious injury)

"Holy crap!" marvels Fingers. "We won?" He checks to make sure Sprinkles is okay, then rushes back to help stabilize Bandy.

"I wonder if that's all of them," he says when he rejoins the others. "There were three last time and six this time. Do you think their lair is somewhere else, and some of them just hang out here? How long do you think we have with those tombs unguarded? And where should we rest?"

Bandy stops bleeding.

What are Hengist's current Hit Points? Or at least the loss and healing, I can figure the total from that.

Hengist bends over Bandy and offers a prayer to Baudh for healing. Cure Light Wounds [1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5

Heingist is at 2hp. That CLW brings Bandy to 1hp, so he wakes.

"I kinda want to go check out the ring of stones now that the gargoyles are dead," repeats Fingers. "Did you all stock up on healing potions? Or do we need to find a safe place to hide out and rest for the night?"

Markd mentions he needs rest, unfortunately.

Fingers nods. "Yeah. Guess it doesn't make any sense to go looking to trouble yet." He kicks the gargoyle rubble around, hoping to spot coins or gems or something among the bodies. Assuming he doesn't find anything, he returns to the previous campsite.

Bandy, after being administered to by Allmond and Hengist, slowly sits up and Thanks the two men heartily.

Then he reaches into his pack and pulls out a vial of bluish liquid. Pulling the stopper, he drinks it all in one gulp and feels a bit better...

Healing Potion [1d6+2] = 5+2 = 7

Markd converses,
Yeah, I probably had one but more claw attack yet to take, but those things did a number on me that even this knife cant do much about this evening. I say we get as restful a night sleep at our campsite till morning, and see what we wake to.

Markd took an absolute beating by those things. (-25 in 3 rounds) luckily their crit hits were grabs instead of max or double damage.

I can give one more prayer to Baudh for healing today, then I will need to rest and pray. The wounded cleric leans heavily on his staff.

Markd where are you for HP? I figure I should CLW our most injured party member first then pray for CLW x3 tomorrow, and a Protection from Evil just in case.

Markd should have 13 HP still short after his personal healing. He could certainly use a full clw before going to sleep, but I'd imagine any other person who is short more than 4 from full should get it first, as he has enough to survive a couple normal attacks.

He answers I could use some, but check on the others, first.

The party resumes its previous campsite, ignoring the two now-stone gargoyle corpses crashed nearby and the healthy amount of pea gravel scattered in the grasses. A heavy rain begins falling as the temperature drops overnight - there's scant shelter on the plains and you wake in the morning soggy and wet and not feeling very rested from it. Nonetheless, the clerics are able to rise and perform their morning prayers to restore themselves for the day. Everyone is wet and tired, except for Bandy, who is still snoring deeply when the others rouse him for breakfast.

Date: 7:15am, 20 July 2021
Light: Sunlight
Effects: (-1 to rolls from no rest)
Weather: 51 degrees, 5-7mph winds from NE, moderate rain fading to drizzle
Injuries: Hengeist (serious injury), Bandy (moderate injury), Markd (minor injury)

Markd (didnt want to edit the previous, but needed to correct math) relays that he is in much worse shape than he realized, feeling only about 1/4 of his normal self. (at 9 of 33 before sleeping)

Hengist being at 2 HP will then cast CLW on himself before sleeping. Cure Light Wounds [1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5

That's the same as Fingers at full strength. ;)
