Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
unfortunately the odds i bet are about 50/50 or more likely 25/75; 25% he would do that 75% not likely.

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
well unless Agrippo unleashes the Sunsword or told to by Helga, (would she reveal that with 'other plans' on her mind, then maybe Strahd don't know what the charmed trio are packing and who knows, mistreat us and we'll sue for a saving throw!!

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
Hi
I'm leaving on a work trip and will be back Thursday night.
I won't have regular internet access, so please NPC Agax for me if you need to keep things moving.
Thanks,
Inferno

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
Sorry about the long lull in the game. Hopefully we'll be able to get back to the carnage castle again soon. The combined party will be stronger than the one that was almost TPK'd, but Strahd is also stronger. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
I may make a few changes to the house rules while your characters work their way back to the castle. The first is this: I'm removing the Know Alignment spell from the game. As a DM, I really dislike that spell. It breaks too many possible mysteries and, IMO, is an artifact of alignment as a "club" along the same lines as alignment languages. I could hand-wave a reason why Know Alignment wouldn't work in Barovia—the aura of evil interferes with it, etc., etc.—but I think it's simpler just to say that in this campaign world, there is no spell that allows detecting alignment.
Detect Evil/Good still works, but under the restrictions noted in the house rules thread (i.e., it only detects strong evil or strong good).
Bragar currently has Know Alignment prepared. Dram, you can substitute another spell for that in your spell list. Just let me know which one.

Re: OOC Discussion II: The Return
"Waste not, want not."
Also:
"When you're going to the dread land of unspeakable evil, make sure you've got all your magic spells memorized before you get there."
Both attributed to Ben Franklin, I believe.

Safe travels, Zhym.
As per Lar's and Castran's battle tactics, if we form a circle with the casters inside, how about this?:
How does that sound to everyone?
Cwreando wrote:Lar says, "Stand ready friends and near me to receive Ohama's gifts. Allow the others magics to assist us before we fight in melee. Protect and shield the casters. Form an arc to my left and right, with the casters behind us. Form a circle around the casters if the wolves try to surround us."

As per Lar's and Castran's battle tactics, if we form a circle with the casters inside, how about this?:
- Lar: 12 O'Clock (facing the wolves)
Castran: 2 O'Clock
Bragar: 4 O'Clock
Bogdana: 6 O'Clock
Petyr: 8 O'Clock
Gragog: 10 O'Clock
Shinyah: inside circle
Scarlett: inside circle
Agax: inside circle
Shinyah's bears: outside circle
How does that sound to everyone?
