Quest #1 "Loggers Run"
Re: Quest #1 "Loggers Run"
Monocar
Winces as one of the sticks gets past his armor, but otherwise is happy for the protection it seems to be giving him so far. He grins a bit and takes another wack at one of the buggers, his confidence up a bit more.
To Hit [1d20+2] = 2+2 = 4 Dmg +mods [1d6+5] = 5+5 = 10
He does growl a bit in frustration. Damn they're quick! He thinks to himself.

Jack, lost boy:
"Okay! I warned you!"
A pruning blade in each hand, Jack trims the verge.

Krystal will attack another one hoping for a head not an arm.

Luther
init. [1d10] = 9
attack [1d20] = 19
broadsword [2d4] = 3
The ranger continues defending himself, slashing and striking with his sword. He's no longer yelling, but his curses and threats have dropped to a constant growl of fury.

Re: Quest #1 "Loggers Run"
Oh Shit!
Round 2
Monocar begins to get frustrated at these quick moving jungle creatures. He flails around wildly again, finding it difficult to fight so many creatures at the same time. Every time he lines up a whack, another one of them jumps out of a branch or tree to disrupt his swing. The monsters continue with their assault, this time not even one of them is able to penetrate the huge fighters armor and defenses. Damn your AC of 1
Luther has a bit of better luck with his attack once he stops yelling at them. He slashes at the one he just wounded and the creature falls dead at his feet. 2 of the monsters on him are able to penetrate his stout defense, one of them stings him with a jab that hurts far worse than his many bug bites. one crit for double dam (2) and another hit = 4 total
Krystal swings away at the 4 mini monsters fighting with her. She also finds the quick moving vegetable people very hard to track and contact. She is in turn clipped again with a sharp stick to the back of her thigh. 1 dam
Jack decides that shouting at the top of his tiny lungs isn't helping much when he sees another bush pigmy join up with the others he is fighting. He concentrates his efforts on slashing them instead and nicks one of them with his sword. He is nicked right back for his efforts by the newcomer. 2 dam
Actions!
Monocar 10/12 with 9 of them left on him (none injured)
Luther 6/13 with 9 of them on him (none injured)
Krystal 3/5 with 4 left on her (one near death)
Jack 8/10 with 4 of them left on him (one injured)
The only character that can insta-kill just cant seem to hit these things for some reason.

Jack grits his teeth and fights for all he's worth, cleaving one open with his Elven sword. "You mean jerks! Leave us alone! We didn't know! We thought you were a weird, smelly gourd!"

Luther
Luther scowls, seeing how badly outnumbered he is. He sees a chance, and charges the line surrounding him, trying to break through and reach the clearing.

Re: Quest #1 "Loggers Run"
Oh Shit!
Round 3
Monocar continues to flail like a lunatic at these things, unable to track them as they jump in at him over and over and over. He takes one club to the head that stings a bit, but for the most part, his armor seems to be taking most of his punishment from these little things. 2 dam
Luther has similar luck. Even though there are several of these things attacking him at once, he is able to fend off all but one attack that gets through his defenses. 2 dam The ranger tries to move forward through the bush, but with all these things pecking away at him, his progress is barely noticeable. You don't have to attack, but a defensive retreat or fleeing will be impossible due to their vast numbers and superior speed. Please attack twice in round 4 to make up for this one.
Krystal tries to cut a bulb from the top of one of these plants, but her swing just barely misses the monster. She notices that the creature she injured first seems to have had enough of her sharp blade. It slowly slinks back into the bush mid attack and she runs it through as it flees.(failed moral check and was at 1 hp)
Jack is getting upset that these creatures aren't listening to him. He slashes at a fresh vegetable with his sword and it falls to the ground leaking a smelly juice from its deadly wound. He takes one spear in his side for his trouble, 2 dam but now has one less critter to deal with.
Actions!
Monocar 8/12 with 9 of them left on him (none injured)
Luther 4/13 with 9 of them on him (none injured)
Krystal 3/5 with 3 left on her (none injured)
Jack 6/10 with 3 of them left on him (one injured)
Brute force and good rolls seem to be the only way out of this mess.

Krystal
The warrior elf woman aims a stab at one of the remaining 'tree people' and hacks it furiously, trying to carve a live 'jack o'lantern in it vegetable head. Longsword melee [1d20+1] = 13+1 = 14 damage [1d8] = 2

Monocar Jemara
Takes the small club to the head like a champ but is distracted a moment later from his retaliationary swing by manic laughter he is somehow sure only he can hear as it feels like something just broke inside. "Huh...?"
To Hit [1d20+2] = 6+2 = 8 Dmg +mods [1d6+5] = 5+5 = 10

Re: Quest #1 "Loggers Run"
Oh Shit!
Round 4
Monocar starts to feel the weight on his shoulders after missing his target yet again. Or is it just his little friends come to wish him goodbye? He is stabbed again, this time behind his right knee. 3 dam
Luther is good and pissed off by now. He swings again and again hoping to clip some of these things down. He cuts one of them pretty good, but it does not fall. Every time he lands a blow he seems to get one back in return. 2 dam
Krystal pokes at another bulbous head and connects. She finds that stabbing seems far less effective against theses green leafy vegetables once the creature does not fall from the blow. She is able to dodge all 3 of their return attacks.
Jack carves another gouge in the wounded gourdman that was already oozing a sickly green puss. The creature seems to have had enough of this dicing, so it slowly backs out of the fight. The other two tiny monsters strike out and miss the little elf boy badly.
Actions!
Monocar 5/12 with 9 of them left on him (none injured)
Luther 2/13 with 9 of them on him (one injured)
Krystal 3/5 with 3 left on her (one injured)
Jack 6/10 with 2 of them left on him (none injured)
Will Monocar ever hit one? I really didn't think this would be so difficult.

Monocar
Something very rare for the jovial young man happens. He just... got... real... mad...
He growls as he takes a spear to the back of his knee and turns to look at the unfortunate little gourdman, rage in his eyes, the new voice in his head laughing maniacally, urging him on. His face twist into a beastal vissage as he brings the club straight down with all his pent up rage he usually keeps burried so deep.

Krystal
Longsword melee [1d20+1] = 19+1 = 20 damage [1d8] = 8
Maybe stabbing them, riposte and lunge doesn't hit any vital organs inside, she thinks? (guessing the comment refers to the creature taking less damage than would normally do so?). So Krystal, still short of options decides to hold her blade two handed and stands rather like an executioner about to lop a victims head off. With an almighty swing she aims to decapitate one of the walking talking vegetables. She finds that stabbing seems far less effective against theses green leafy vegetables

Re: Quest #1 "Loggers Run"
Oh Shit! This Is Getting Serious!
Round 5
Monocar finally connects with one of the tree hugging pigmies on him, crushing its zucchini-like head and sending juice, stringy sinew, and seeds flying in every direction. The rest of the tiny monsters see this and start to rethink just exactly what they are doing out here at the moment. The fighters heavy armor saves him again from taking damage from all of the attacks of the dead pumpkin head's friends.
Luther is also somehow able to avoid being hit again this time. He tries to take down another of the pesky pests before his own health gives out, but his blows are getting weaker with every drop of blood that drains out of his large, hairy body. His attack barely misses the injured vegi-man. This gives the thing time to reassess its position a little and it too slowly falls back into the shrubbery as its friends continue to fly at the ranger from every direction. Luther keeps fighting despite the odds and despite his waning condition.
Krystal quickly figures out that these creatures do indeed take less damage from piercing than they do from slashing. She changes her stance and proceeds to behead one of the remaining monsters attaking her. The things bulbous melon flies off and actually hits his wounded friend next to him, causing him to also flee in terror. The lady elf's smirk is short lived once the only remaining jungle goblin thrusts his spear into her thigh. 2 dam The mysterious Krystal begins to feel light headed and woozy, she knows her end will be near if she cannot dispatch her last adversary post haste.
Little Jack has only 2 more of the monsters left to deal with. He slashes out with his sword and dagger, hitting both of the creatures, but unfortunately not hard enough to drop either of them. He takes one more poke from a spear, 1 dam but these creatures seem to have had enough of the boys stinging metal blades. They look at each other before one takes off into the thick jungle. Jack takes the opportunity to drop it as it flees, while the other one just stares back at the boy with wide, unintelligible eyes.
Actions!
Monocar 5/12 with 8 of them left on him (none injured)
Luther 2/13 with 8 of them on him (none injured)
Krystal 1/5 with 1 left on her (not injured)
Jack 5/10 with 1 left on him (not injured)
Every morale check that I have rolled so far was a fail.
