Castle U.S.S. Enterprise
The Barren Wasteland, Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Day Four. Night. March 28th, 912 CY

Fiefo, Tullia and Moniqua squeeze through the jammed door and step out into the wreckage and the ruin as their companions look on anxiously.

Adrock the historian-priest deciphers ancient runes of 'Earth That Was' on a wall fresco behind Fiefo.

Image

A masterful example of the period, it seems to indicate the door south of the rat-man, one of three that are visible.

Beneath the wildly flashing witchlights, the smashed, scattered furniture that fills the corridor seems to have been a makeshift barricade violently sundered.

Signs of fire and battle are all around. But there are no bodies.

Tullia

Looks like there was a nasty battle here. Lots of burn marks... did they use weapons that shoot fire?

So what does the plaque say, Adrock? Does it tell us what is in there?

I am going to LOOK over here, but not leave this room.

With sword in hand, she flattens herself against the wall, and slides slowly to the left to see what is in that direction.

Is what looks like a corridor, to her left, also filled with debris?

Hans the Shrewd

Hans is wary. He draws his short sword and attempts to peer over or around his companions who block his view into the next room. Being half prey animal, however, he does not neglect to check over his shoulder to confirm that nothing has ascended with them through the magical gateway.

He cannot help but admire Tullia's stealthy movements.

"U-unlikely to be eaten, that one."

The sign says Medicine, in ancient times this was something used by their healers such as salves and balms. They would also use the term to indicate locations of where the healers worked

adrock will squeeze through and follow the sign to the door indicated

Ko-Nan follows begrudgingly along - now that they have but only one path to take! Curse this cowardly castle and it's wizard tricks! His eyes dart about the shadows created from the flickering witch-lights knowing something is likely waiting within...

Castle U.S.S. Enterprise
The Barren Wasteland, Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Day Four. Night. March 28th, 912 CY

The questers of The Kirk move deeper into the astonishing realm of the gods, cautiously creeping through the wreckage-strewn corridor; a battlefield eerily devoid of corpses.

Beneath the flickering witch-lights, Fiefo LeBratt quietly pads south and peers around the corner into a clear passageway to two more shut doors.

Once Fiefo indicates the path is safe, Adrock follows the ancient hieroglyphs to the Healer of the Gods! He approaches the southernmost door which magically opens before him, as does another door behind it! Through the double threshold, Adrock spies an open portal beyond!

Image

Meanwhile to the north, Tullia and Moniqua edge into an area beyond the ruins of the broken barricade.

Behind them, Hans nervously checks over his shoulder. Suddenly, the Disco Incinerator flashes to life before his eyes!

Image

The heavenly gate flickers with a fiery light and a choir of angels sings!

Then, standing alone on the dais is Chaka, their long lost companion!

Image

Chaka and Hans have not seen each other since the wreck of the doomed ship that brought them all to the Forbidden Island! Hans had been told that Chaka didn't survive the fearsome tower of Xygax the Wizard!

The ape-boy takes one look around, dazed, confused. But a bit more aware than usual. He teeters then collapses on the transport disk moaning but one word. "Hun...gry..."

Maskelyn
Maskelyn knows how fragile he is, so he's staying with other people. He hears the choir sing again. Did anyone else hear that? he says as he digs a dirty finger into his ear.

Tullia

She heard the strange machine singing again, and hold up her sword. Quietly, she says, Hush, there is sound from the Disco Incinerator room. I will check it. Stay where you are, and be alert.

She will then peek into the room with the magic dais, where she sees the collapsed Chaka. She enters, and kneels down to look at him. Chaka, friend, is this really you? She will carefull reach out and touch him.

Jack

Ears perking up at the sounds of the angel choir, Jack cautiously peers into the room to make sure the creatures aren't following them[.

Hans the Shrewd

By this point, Hans doesn't know what to think. He is delighted to see Chaka, but he trusts neither his sense nor the otherworldly power of this plane.

With trepidation, he watches Tullia engage the ape boy.

Ko-Nan, shakes his head at yet another unexpected sorcerous result. He pokes at the Chaka boy with his weapon to see if it yet lives. If it doesn't turn out to be a trick he will offer some of the meat he has saved.

Castle U.S.S. Enterprise
The Barren Wasteland, Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Day Four. Night. March 28th, 912 CY

In a miraculously burst of light and sound, Chaka appears out of thin air! He collapses to the dais, weak from starvation.

Hans, Ko-Nan and Tullia rush to his side and cautiously confirm that he is real! A blessing from the gods, it really is their long lost friend! A strange metal plate on his simian skull reveals that he too was horrifically augmented at the Skyscraper of the Mad Wizard.

Ko-Nan feeds the starving ape-boy some of his cooked gargantuan meat as Moniqua moves to the altar of the God's Eyes.

In the wreck-strewn corridor, the angelic chorus that heralded Chaka's ascension gives Fiefo pause. The rat-man glances over his hunched shoulder and then back at Adrock who delves ever deeper into the god realm in his tireless quest for sacred lore.

The scholar-priest follows the ancient signs and soon stands in an open doorway into a dimly lit room. His holy light parts the darkness, revealing beds, tables and many inexplicable objects within.

The two doors between Adrock and Fiefo swoosh shut.

Fiefo will hurry forward, suddenly, bizarrely, filled with concern for Adrock's safety.

Assuming the doors open for him, he'll stop between the sets of doors in an effort to keep them open and maintain visibility on his party-mate.
