Yeah, it's a high-level thing. You can still perform arcane experimentation, to determine the magical qualities of items (but it's got a low probability of success at low levels, 5% per level basically).

Since the 20 on the Con roll doubled the penalty, I went ahead and did this in order to keep things moving. If you need me to go back and correct anything I will.

I just did a quick survey and discovered that characters have survived and developed more than I had been thinking!

We now have at least one third-level character in our ranks and a goodly number of second level characters, with an equal-sized group very close to breaking into second level themselves. Not bad--we'll see what kind of new boldness this translates into after Harrowing
