Ritbert the Bold
Let us embark now, adds the fighter, twirling his trident as he speaks. In proper marching order, he adds after a moment.

Ulfang the barbarian nodded and plunged into the caverns with the others, sword in one hand and axe in the other.

Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Travix has always been amazed at the druids ability to communicate with the animals so easily. Silently wishing he himself could do such things, he watches the event with great interest, but he is ready to follow along in his place in the order once everyone is set to enter the cave.

Palgravadorix
"Thank you, little wings," the druid trills. "You are beloved of the Horned God and of his servant."
His conversation done, he relays what information they gave him to his comrades and assumes his position in the rearguard. He is ready to go under the earth.

Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Yulia waits for the others to enter the cave and then joins Palgravadorix at the rear of the group as they follow the path.

Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Osford Green Ears takes his place in the middle of the group with his lighted torch and prepares to enter.
Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Kelsey watches as the others ready themselves. She slowly enters, checking for traps as she moves towards the sound of running water and looking for anything out of the ordinary that shouldn’t be there.
Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
The tunnel down into the caverns winds along a narrow and uneven path, following the river’s natural course. Stalactites hang low from the ceiling, and the rock floor is treacherously slippery from the splashing water. The subterranean air has a placid, piercing chill, all too familiar to veteran adventurers. Suddenly, the river-carven tunnel slopes abruptly downward, and just ahead there is the unmistakable sound of a waterfall dashing down to rocks below.

Do we have a mapper? Though I have some chalk, I lack the better materials for this necessary task, says the warrior?

Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Luthandier looks up and around at the ceiling and walls ahead of him, before looking down at Kelsey. When she's ready to proceed I'll move up as close as I can to the waterfall while staying on level ground.
Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Silent as a wolf stalking its prey, Ulfang the barbarian trod deeper into the cavern, anticipating the violence that was soon to come.

Yulia keeps a wary eye on the shadows that the torchlight casts among the stalactites above them.

Travix nods at Ritbert, still scribbling notes and scetches on his parchment as they move further into the cave. He keeps his eyes peeled for any danger as the group descends the slippery slope. He uses his staff to help him balance as much as possible so he doesn't slip and fall himself.
"We must be cautious here. That last step looks like a doozy!"
He tries to determine if anything can be seen off in the distance or down below the falls.

It's good to be back underground, says the dwarf (with some gusto). He twirls his trident and cautiously matches the barbarian's pace behind the front pair.

Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Palgravadorix watches cautiously as the front ranks move toward the edge of the waterfall. He removes the hemp rope from his backpack, ties a lasso, and looks about for a stalagmite or boulder that might serve as an anchor to help them negotiate the treacherous rocks.
Failure is always an option.

Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Osford Green Ears grips the torch tightly in his left hand and leaves his right free to steady himself in case a footstep brings an unpleasant surprise.
He follows his companions as they make their way into the cavern and watches the horizon of his torch light. Although he thought he would feel trepidation on his first descent into the underworld, he surprises himself by being elated at the sense of adventure.

Kelsey quietly says...Palgravaodorix, can I use your rope to tie around my waist and then you guys can lower me down! I’ll scout ahead and then if everything looks good, I will give the ok for the rest of you to descend. Sound good?

Harrr! I'll help Palgravadorix lower Kelsey the Thief, announces the gruff dwarf.

Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Hi ho hi ho to lower the thief we go, hums the bold dwarf in a rare moment of mirth.
