my ideas were 'fire' and 'lightning' - in no particular order

Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Glimble was the only one not charging into circle around into the forest he was heading off for the road to head towards civilization. As for spells i have dust devil, dispel magic, spiritual hammer, silence 15' radius, magical vestment and 3 CLW. MY staff is CLW, mend, read clerical magic, & tongues for it's spells.

Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
More details about distances, etc..
You were in a clearing, but these scouts set it on fire, you all scattered outside of the clearing, and are back in the forest. You can't fully see the orcs, they are too far away this round. They are perhaps 300-400 feet away and through trees and underbrush.
You could hear them start a charge. The scouts must be communicating back to them, or their leader, magically or through a device??
You are also probably 1000 yards from the forest edge. It would normally be a short walk, but it is a long time in terms of combat rounds...

Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Glimble seeing that he is the only one going the opposite direction sighs and follows everyone else.

Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
The entangle spell was directed at the scout that is closer to the orcs.
Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Anybody planning to change plans before I execute the next round?
Vek and some of the party was going around the entangle spell and then at the orcs, you could also investigate if the scout was entangled by setting a bit closer.
Tella was considering heading away from the orcs and the growing flames to the lower left. Anybody going with her?

ok knowing Tella is doing that I'm going to change Glimble's actions to follow her instead.Darkmane wrote:Anybody planning to change plans before I execute the next round?

Glimble starts to follow Vek's charge until he notices Tella going in a direction similar to what the gnome cleric was originally planning smiling the gnome turns and follows Tella instead.

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:
Realizing the orcs are two minutes away, Vek focuses on the more immediate threat. "One of their wizard scouts might be entangled, but the other one could be preparing another Fireball. We've got to neutralize him first."
Maybe Dispel Magic in that area? Or Magic Missile? Or Web?
If no one throws a spell in the direction of the unentangled, invisible wizard, Vek charges into that direction. Hopefully, casting an offensive spell has made the wizard visible. If not, Vek listens for his chanting. If Vek sees or hears him, the grim warrior will try to cut him asunder.
If spells are cast in the direction of the unentangled, invisible wizard, Vek stands by to see if the magical scout is exposed.

Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Roseheart sighs as the group separates but doesn't really blame them in the chaos. He'll follow his stubborn friend Vek. "Get us closer to that scout and I"ll try a little something to put him down - i'll save the fireshow until I have a better target"
Cast color spray at the scout - hopefully that will fan out and highlight the scout or neutralize him.

Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Enoka was following Tella. Can we see any of the Orcs?
Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Sweeping his eyes over the scene, Vek stops moving toward the orcs, realizing from Roseheart that there may be another scout out there. Tella and enoka begin moving away from the group, pulling back to get a better spellcasting vantage.
Roseheart thinks to fire a color spray where he believed the scouts might be but then sees something moving FAST right at at Tella and Enoka. By the time he could get his spell off it will be too late. Glimble watches the chest solo for now.
Whatever this thing is, it moves fast and look as black and glistening as oil, lit by the gathering dawn and the flickering fire.

Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Hmm. Black as oil, fire powers, magic powers: these 'scouts' could be demons.
DM,
Does anyone other than Roseheart see the thing running toward Enoka and Tella?
From what direction is it coming?
Based on its position, could it be one of the magical scouts?

Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Unless Roseheart shouts out to you guys, he may be the only one who sees the thing for now.

Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Roseheart quickly considers the small groups position and stealth as he watches the black blur strike out at Tella and Enoka. His conscious gets the better of him, however, as he grumbles "goddammit" and then a shout of "Tella - WARE!".
His mind juggles between fireball and lightning spells at this point...

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:
Alerted by Roseheart, Vek charges the thing, trying to intercept it and cut it asunder. If possible, the grim warrior will position himself between it and the chest.
"Didn't your fat master tell you what we did to his other slaves?" Vek snarls as he lets steel fly.
Vek: +3 Long Sword: To Hit: [1d20+8] = 15+8 = 23 . Damage: S/M: [1d8+9] = 8+9 = 17 , L: [1d12+9] = 8+9 = 17

Glimble watches intently for something to point his arquebus at and shoot it least it is one of his friends.
