Re: The Final Fun Facts to Find
"I suppose I'll never get to see what she looks like," murmurs Ozwaldus. He watches Epi walk off into the darkness, but doesn't comment. To the others he suggests, low enough that the crone won't hear, "Is there any object or person that any of you can think of that the mayor, on our meeting tomorrow, might be so shocked to see that she would reveal something useful? With a bit of rest perhaps I could be of some use in that regard."
Re: The Final Fun Facts to Find
Sir Ugghra, half-orc aristocrat:
"Positive Steve In Good Health," replied Sir Ugghra. "Any of The Other Horrors We Encountered at the Ruined Tower of Mortimer the Mad, Or Perhaps Sally, As A Younger Woman.
"I Dare Say, Should We Enquire Whether Double Rooms Are Available at The Inn? Safety In Numbers, You Know."

"Dear Ugghra, no need to be coy with me," quips Orando with a grin.Inferno wrote:Sir Ugghra, half-orc aristocrat:

"Yes, if we visited the mayor with phantasms of Steve and others," he says, "my powers of mind reading will reveal her inner secrets."
"And perhaps others," she adds, looking at the repressed but remarkably dressed half-man.

Re: The Final Fun Facts to Find
Epi shakes her head at the half-orcs babbling but decides it best to leave that topic alone. Angella is determined to stake out the Mayors house, at least for a little while. She sees no change whatsoever in the place as long as she continues her surveillance. There are no lights or sounds whatsoever. She sees no guards walking the perimeter of the compound either. In fact, she doesn't even see the usual guards that are always stationed at the front gates. If she didn't know any better, she would be convinced that the place has been completely abandoned.
Father Dowling suggest some supper and a good nights sleep, echoing Orando's suggestion from earlier. Ugghra, Orando, and Ozwaldus discuss the possibility of using an illusionary distraction in order to trick the mayor into revealing any as of yet unlearned information. Orando reacts positively to Sir Ugghras advancements, inviting him to room together if he is afraid.
The night passes uneventfully.

Re: The Final Fun Facts to Find
Angella before heading back to the inn to share her observations, will approach the mayoress' abode and scout its perimeter, seeing if she can get a glimpse within from window or door, and test those doors to see if they are locked or not, after checking them over for traps of course.
Once returned she will share her findings with those still awake.

Save verses Death.
just kidding
There is a ten foot fence around the perimeter of the estate. The two gates are closed and locked but not manned.

You can't get close enough to the house to see into any windows. You would need to try to get inside the fence first.

Climb Walls (87) [1d100] = 19
Angella easily scales the fence and drops down into the dark compound. She sneaks up to the nearest window but the curtains are drawn tight and she can't see into the home.
Walking around the building, she sees that all of the windows are covered in such a fashion. Checking the doors, she finds no traps but every one of them is locked.
There are no signs of life anywhere, inside or outside of the house.

"I'm afraid I can only manage one distinct entity or force at a time convincingly," says Ozwaldus in reply to Orando. He'll think a long time about the contours of Positive Steve's features and general body shape before retiring, adding fictional legs of course, working out routines in his head.

Orando, pornomancer
At the inn, Orando rooms with Ozwaldus the phantasmist. He makes small talk about magick, comparing notes.
"Have you a Magic Mouth dweomer?" Orando asks. "I lost that spell two centuries ago. I fondly remember casting it upon my bed mattress, lying down upon it, and going to sleep as it pleasured me."
"Or mayhap you possess Leomund's Tiny Slut?"

Ozwaldus Maximus, Human Illusionist
"Aaaaaaaaaah... no. I'm afraid I do not," replies Ozwaldus, eying Orando's face to try to determine if he's joking or not. He can't tell. "Funny you should mention my spell list, though," he continues, pouring himself a tall tumbler of wine from his flask, "I've just been digging around and I've got an obscure one in here which may be of use to us tomorrow. While I can produce a healthy, legged image of Positive Steve as I did the Red Caine, I can also alter my own form - within reason - and so duplicate another of the victims. Assuming there were a way for me to have a good image of their likeness in mind. Otherwise general features would have to suffice."

Father Dowling
After a light...ish dinner, Dowling will turn in for the night, praying for new spells at the appropriate time.

Re: The Final Fun Facts to Find
The next morning, the group gathers again for breakfast. While they are eating, they are paid a visit by the acolyte, Ernie.
Good morning brave investigators!
Borther Tomas has sent me to remind you all that the Mayor will be seeing to the needs of the people this morning. The honorable Lady will be holding her normal council, starting at 10:00 am. He suggests that you wait until the townsfolk are done with their business before going in to see her. It shouldn't be too busy today so your wait should be short.
Do you understand that? Do you have any questions about it?
If not, we can proceed to the meeting. Any last minute preparations?

At breakfast the next day Epi turns to Ernie, "Is Positive Steve healed enough to provide us any information? Be nice to hear a first person account of...well...whatever he can tell us."

The priest smiles at the young man. Thank you, Ernie. That is an excellent reminder that the rest of the town is to be kept unaware of our purpose. We haven't done the greatest of jobs remembering that through much of our investigation. Please thank Brother Tomas for us.

Orando, mage
"That is intriguing," comments Orando, hiding his disappointment that the illusionist possesses no carnal spells. "I can see how it would be difficult to reproduce an image of someone you've never seen. Descriptions would be poor substitutes. Did you meet Odilo and Grillock before their alleged deaths?"ChubbyPixie as Ozwaldus wrote:"I've just been digging around and I've got an obscure one in here which may be of use to us tomorrow.
