Trist
Trist communicates with Jivet telepathically, "My dear perhaps a bit of scare tactics are in order. Cast your ventriloquist spell and make the fireplace speak in elven that someone will pay for their recent misdeeds using an eerie sounding voice."
Jivet lets out a very faint giggle. She quietly cast her ventriloquist spell and has the fireplace say in elven, "OOOOUUUUU...….Yourrrrrrrr rrrrrreeeeeccccceeeennnt mmmmmiiiiiisssssssddddeeeeedddds will hhhhaaaaauuuunnntttt yyyyyoooooooouuuuuu. yyyyyyyyoooooouuuuu wwwwwiiiiiiilllll ppppppaaaaaayyyyyyyy ffffffffoooooorrrrrrrr wwwwwhhhhhhaaaaaattttttt yyyyyyyyoooooooouuuuuuu dddddddddiiiiiiiiiidddddd."
Trist translates for the others if needed mainly for Cale and Kaerin for effect.

Re: Chapter 3: Taverns and New Adventures
Cale quite composed looks at the group and replies in his monotone voice "My former master was very secretive in his work, I do not know what protections he used on the basement. Lord Kaerin has not asked me to go down there nor any of the other staff. Though he did have me write up a poster that I was to post up around the city. He himself went down there alone though I don't know why he didn't bring anyone with him. I suppose he wasn't truly thinking it was beyond his skills. Unfortunately he discovered that it was a wrong assumption."

Re: Chapter 3: Taverns and New Adventures
Cale sighs "If you had listened to the lord of the manor he mentioned this in conversation at dinner. A poster seeking adventurers for hire to go into the basement and locate two objects for him. With payment of 250 gold pieces per adventurer as well as the offer of keeping other findings."

After Dinner: The Offer Stands
Cale once all the questions are done resumes his duties as he takes care of getting anyone anything more they would like as the kitchen staff gather dishes for washing and so forth. Kaerin returns to offer the others to join him in his study to share stories and wine if they so wish if not he pardons himself and goes upstairs to his chambers until he is informed that the priest has come. Before he goes he does provide this parting information about the basement.
Kaerin "I'm sorry that I do not know exactly what may be in the basement, and no I don't have keys to rooms there either. I do know that Kavorquian protected his basement with enchanted monsters, traps, and some special magical creature that can travel through walls. He also performed magical experiments with monsters, and there might be a few failed experiments loose in the basement. Such as the beetle that took my arm off. After the fact I did find a staff which I was informed heals wounds, if you need it I will lend it to you for the task at hand. The hour is late if you so wish to you can sleep in my guest rooms, I can have Cale show you to the rooms if you so wish. Otherwise I take no offense and there is a nice inn that might have rooms available just down the road, I can have a servant show you the way if you'd like."

Delsenora
The Dark Elf thanks Cale kindly.
"I must pray to Eilistraee under the moonlight and in a meadow if at all possible. I saw one on our
way here. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality, please relay that to Master Kaerin. I shall return in the
morning to help the others search for the items he has requested. Good Evening."
Del looks at her companions and nods. "I'll be back for the morning meal," and rising
from her chair, she exits the room and the manor, heading for the meadow she saw on their
way over.

Urtesi will accept the invitation to stay at a guest room. He will retire to the room, pray and be ready to enter the basement in the morning.
Re: Chapter 3: Taverns and New Adventures
Weston accepts a guest room too
"An early start is wise move, I will have to prepare suitable spells for the day.
He turns to Therick, Urtesi and Delsenora "Perhaps we should have a brief discussion before we retire on the most suitable spells for the investigation. It would be sensible to ensure our choices are optimal and do not overlap"

Elanriel
After the brief discussion on spells, when Delsenora departs for the meadow, Elanriel (as always) accompanies her.
On the way, Delsenora may notice that Elanriel seems worried. If she asks, Elanriel would admit that the idea of magical traps troubles her and she is feeling even more out of her depth about their upcoming adventure than she did in the previous one.

Kaerin nods "Very well and as for the use I don't think a cleric needs to use it. But it is possible that it would work better if one did." he smiles that others are accepting his hospitality "Even if you wish to remain outdoors for your rituals to your deity I offer the use of the grounds if you'd like." he says as Del and Elanriel head off.

Xlore speaks to the others after Kearin and Cale leave the room. I wish to go too the inn. And ask questions of the locals about the former lord. I shall return by morning. Does anyone wish to accompany me?

"Don't worry too much, Elanriel. We shall be fine. I'll do my best to keep us all safe. As long as we are careful we should be fine. I know we are going
into a Wizard's "dungeon" but with our careful planning it should go off without a hitch. Everyone in our group are capable, you included. Don't forget that."
Winking at the elf she adds "Why don't we go to that meadow so I can pray. It is a lovely evening to sleep under the stars!"

Re: Chapter 3: Taverns and New Adventures
Wrapping up the Evening: Uneventful Night
Those that take the offer of the guest rooms Cale escorts to the guest rooms and those that wish to head out are allowed to do so. Those listening and conversing with the master of the house he talks about how he used to be married but they separated some years back. He talks about how he is Kavorquian's only child, and he realizes that his father was quite old when he sired him. The title of lord he explains is merely just honorary then if pressed further uncomfortable admits that he is related to the noble family which rules the Estates of Penhaligon, an area around the town. He also admits that the part of Kavorquian being his father he most recently found out that he was merely the adopted son of though it clearly makes him uncomfortable to discuss. So he switches the subject talking about growing up around Penhaligon and how he always hated being treated like royalty, and how he later decided to become a fighter and went to train as a warrior.
The next morning: to the basement!
The group that stayed the night are awoken with a good breakfast early the next morning, and after bathing and dressing, they will be taken to the wine cellars of the house, where the door to the basement is. Kaerin extracts a promise from each character that he will do their very best to retrieve the items by the evening of the next day. With that the door is opened and the group sees that beyond the door in the cellar is a stone spiral staircase, descending into darkness.
