Re: Ch. 3: Hell's Bells
Odilo informs Tanner "Ah well I had not planned on such an event and did not study my identify spell. Alas I never did learn detect magic either, so I am of no use in identifying either object today or even telling you if they are magical."

Re: Ch. 3: Hell's Bells
Malibran concedes "I have no ability to identify such magic at all. Our Master Mages are needed for that! Let us proceed with caution - every floor, wall, item or object should be considered a trap!"
Pausing a moment while the group finishes up in the small room, he takes the opportunity to protect himself from possible fire ahead. it is Hell after all...
Pray for resist fire on malibran

The Unseen Servant looks to Hallagad. "Perhaps you can sense if the ring was crafted with evil intent?"

As the party stands, trying to determine what to do next, the giant sorcerer does two things in rapid sucession- waves the Staff of the Magi at the (former) contents of the bag, casting Detect Magic as he does so, and dipping a finger into the liquid from the broken vial, tasting it, hoping to determine any magical powers the liquid may have.

On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Re: Ch. 3: Hell's Bells
After the others discuss their lack of detection spells, Risdac waves his staff like a wand to sense magic. The ring is indeed magic, as are the contents of the vials. Tasting the vials, he feels slightly more hale.
The Unseen Servant asks if Hallagad can sense any evil intent from the ring. The paladin reminds the monk that they are in an infernal plane. The last time he tried to detect evil, he got nothing out of the attempt but a severe headache.
Tanner picks up the ring. It is oddly heavy given its size.

The ring is magical, although I cannot discern what it does. The potions are also magical. I feel...slightly more hale. Does anyone have an empty bottle or flask? We could try pouring the potion into a suitable container if we have one.

Odilo points to a patch on his robe "I've got an iron coffer patch that is about all I can give you aside from my own waterskin but I'd like to keep that."

If you're talking about trying to salvage the potion from the broken flask, it's got shattered glass mixed in with it. I wouldn't recommend drinking it.Scott308 wrote:Does anyone have an empty bottle or flask? We could try pouring the potion into a suitable container if we have one.

Tanner
Never mind that one- it's garbage by now. I have the other one. If someone wants to use it, just ask. I'm unsure about the ring- it's heavier than it should be. I'll keep it for now, unless one of you object. He slips the items into a belt pouch.

Malibran nods in agreement. "Yes, let's proceed, our Quest awaits us!" With shield and mace in hand, he moves with the group, all the while his form shifts in place as the power of his cloak protects him.
OOC: zhym, under 'effects' malibran has resist fire upon himself.

Rool leads the way to the next passage, invisible.

Re: Ch. 3: Hell's Bells
Tanner pockets the potion and the ring. (Please add 1 potion of extra healing to Tanner's sheet and 1 heavy ring).
Rool invisibly leads the way to the next passage, with the rest of the party hanging behind. Turning the corner, he sees it continue about 10' before falling into darkness. As the rest of the party catches up—not knowing how far Rool has advanced—the light illuminates a passage that extends about 60', to the edge of the light, before turning aft.
No time for a map tonight; hopefully the description is good enough.

Re: Ch. 3: Hell's Bells
The Unseen Servant will try to stay 30 feet ahead of the light source.
While they remain in an area once covered with water, he won’t search for traps in the floor.

Are you continuing forward, or moving to #3 now that you have gotten a look at the hall?
