Ko-Nan is unfazed by his first errant swing. He plants his feet and unleashes his pitted blade - well worn from countless victories - upon the unnatural slime.

Finver sighs in momentary relief that the immediate threat was so easily dispatched. He replies defiantly to the many slimy mouths threatening their doom in unison, "Yer the first, Oh Slimy One, and yer gonna be the last one ta be assimilated..."
ChubbyPixie wrote: Wed Jan 25, 2023 1:22 pm The tip of Fiefo's scimitar droops a little as he considers the futility of fighting a lake of slime.

"Somebody smarter than me figure something out!" he shouts and launches himself at the mass.
In a moment of inspiration, Finver replies to the Ratman with a tone of clarity and strategy, "FIefo, let tha gnome tell us where tha archway is weakest and we'll cave it in on Big Slimy!" and hurries through the puddles of slime trying not to slip on his way towards Maskelyn. "Quick, come to tha archway an' bring yer great fork..." pointing to Ratman's fauchard fork.

To Maskelyn, "Hey Gnome! Ferget what I said about yer magic, we need yer expertise ta find us tha weakest point in tha exit tunnel. We need ta make a crack and pry out a keystone chunk big enough ta collapse tha exit on Big Slimy... and then Lady Drapuadi can put on tha finishing touch with her ward!"

He marches with determination in his plan towards the Slime God's last remaining exit to the surface. If time remains in this round, FInver begins hammerign at the keystone area of the tunnel, see diagram and red highlighted area attached below. If not, this is his action next round based on Maskelyn's guidance.

Realm of the Slime God, Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Night. Sunday, April 15th, 912 CY

Image

The vast, churning abomination is beyond imagining!

Connak, Fiefo, and Ko-Nan slash the colossal, sentient sluice with their blades. But it's like chopping at a storm-tossed ocean for all the damage they seem to inflict!

Maskelyn concentrates to maintain his illusory pyre as Draupadi fails to drive back the enormous Slime God by flame and by mace!

Mungo charges one of the slime spawn! His sparking forge hammer misses, trailing arcs of jagged electricity through the air!

Then Finver ascends the writhing, infectious surface of the hideous immensity itself! (Finver, please Save vs Poison and post your action regardless of the outcome)
Staggering toward the tunnel mouth across the heaving "ground," the dwarf urges his companions to join him! (Finver, please also roll your DEX or lower on 1d20 to keep on your feet)

The slime spawn defend their God, and Fiefo, Connak and Mungo are lacerated by razor sharp tentacles! (6hp, 3hp and 5hp damage respectively)

Whip-like pseudopods rise up out of the heinous Slime God and lash Draupadi, Finver and Ko-Nan! (2hp, 1hp and 4hp damage respectively. Ko-Nan, please Save vs Poison and post your action regardless of the outcome)

Maskelyn
Maskelyn startles. We can't drive it back inside! We gotta lure it!
With that, he runs for the North entrance. Come on, Ko-Nan! With me! He yells, not pausing to look back.

His intention is to go back through the cave and harass the Slime from the inside.

Finver coughs violently and realizes he was unable to avoid inhaling the vile slime. His feet remain steady beneath him despite the force of this coughing fit. Rising again after recovering his breath but knowing something in not quite right inside him, he calls "Mungo! Bring yer hammer ta smash tha archway!! We'll cave it in"

He calls even louder again to the gnome, "Maskelyn, we need yer eye ta find tha weakeast point in tha archway!" waving to catch his attention.

Post revised after a DM clarification.
Mungo calls out, Somebody finish off this slime spawn, please! (S4) On my way, Finver, et al.! The small moleman's legs carry him as fast they can to the edge of the cave mouth. He takes a look at the stone. He thinks, "Wait. This is going to require stepping on the slime thing, isn't it?" ::mental sigh::

Night. Sunday, April 15th, 912 CY

Image

Revolted by the disgusting, undulating lake of sentient mucus, Fiefo misses a muck minion with his curved blade!

Against Finver's urging, Maskelyn and Ko-Nan take flight, beginning the long journey around the slime-blighted mound to the northern cave mouth! But not before an oozy offspring bites Ko-Nan! (5hp damage, and please Save vs Poison!)

The flames that wreathe Draupadi suddenly disappear! Unfazed, she bludgeons the immense Slime God with all her might as Connak kills another of its repulsive spawn! (S8)

Harkening unto Finver, Mungo races toward the dwarf as his vicious, viscous adversary (S4) slashes at him! (4hp damage) Mungo stops in his tracks when he sees that contact with the Slime God has infested Finver's entire body once more!

Image

Finver beckons that his companions join him!

The Slime God's gooey spawn close in on the remaining adventurers as its countless sickening mouths gurgle, "Finver, you are one of Us."

Finver can feel its hideous, inhuman mind in his! (Finver, please Save vs Spells to act freely!)

Sorry, Doc! Gotta see a man about a horse! Maskelyn continues for the Northern cave entrance, as quickly as he can.

The dwarf slows his hasty attack and lowers his hammer gently. Amid the chaos, the war hammer hangs by his side. In a calm demeanor, he sways as if listening to the chants of the clans in the echoing chambers of his home in Karstland. He answers the chorus of slimy mouths, "Yes, and it is glorious to serve you, Master. What is your command?"

Mungo banked everything on casting to glyph spells, he has nothing that can help Finver. "We've got to defeat this thing! And quick!" he thinks. He turns his forge hammer on the nearest slime spawn (S4).

Maskelyn
Maskelyn scowls as he runs, realizing how long it will take. He changes direction, heading for the crevasse where the Falling Star impacted. He's still committed to his idea, and is hoping this will be a quicker trip. I'll figure out how to get down when I get there...
