Another couple pieces of information to add to the rumor list, learned from Cat Turd Island:

A wizard once (still?) ruled these islands. He created the obelisks, presumably as part of his "ultimate creation".

The wizard had also conducted other potentially very dangerous experiments. Tread carefully!

Is anyone else having this problem?

When I sign in to US, the icon for BSI indicates that there's a new post. I click on it, but it turns out to be a post I've already read. And there are no other new ones.

This had happened several times. At first I thought it was just a problem with my phone. But I've logged in on my laptop and the same thing has happened.

Annoying.

Haven't happened to me. I also don't have a marker for US, just directly to BSI, so I don't know.

Correct.

This shouldn't be a problem.
Have I ever mentioned that as a DM, you are a mechanical-freaking-genius??

The school where I work reopened this week for K-3 students. On Saturday we got an e-mail from the principal saying that a teacher had contracted Covid. This teacher had been in the building on Friday, so if we had been in there too, we should get checked. (Luckily I'd decided not to go that day). The principal said the teacher was quarantined and not to worry.

On Wednesday, we got a second email that another staff member had Covid, but since they don't work with kids, don't worry.

Today I came into the building and the entire front office staff was absent. At 9:30 the principal put his head around the door of my classroom and handed me a letter explaining that due to "another" case of Covid in the building (again not working with children) we were shutting down for at least two weeks. Didn't even make it to the end of the first week.

Sorry to hear that, stay safe as best as you can. This is a tough situation, especially for teachers.

Utmost respect to all the teachers out there dealing with this.

I cant imagine what it must be like trying to figure out a work schedule in a situation that is in constant flux. Especially when dealing with your own children thrown into the mix as well.

All I have to do at work is tolerate being surrounded by idiots who still think the virus is a political hoax that will all be over next Wednesday. (yes, seriously)

Thanks everybody! I appreciate it.

Another teacher contacted me last night to say we have 3 confirmed cases and 3 more waiting for test results. Meanwhile, parents are all over social media complaining about the decision

(At least one of those eye-rolls is just for social media in general :D )

Because those parents aren't thinking about one of the kids coming home and giving it to grandma or grandpa, who will have a much, much harder time with it.

Yeah, sorry guys, I was kind of shell-shocked when I wrote that. Needed to vent.

To get back closer to home, I think I figured out one of the reasons that 5e doesn't float my boat. I just watched a dude on YouTube discussing XP in different editions of DND. He pointed out how complicated the different amounts in each edition were, compared to 5e where every class has the same total.

That's when I realized: I like the complicated nonsense. I like tracking numbers. Or looking up obscure tables when making a character. Putting the effort in makes me care about the character. So far, 5e doesn't do that for me. Maybe when I've played a little more I'll feel differently.
