Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
Teladrin follows the dog, his bow ready.
Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
Arn, who seems to always be putting his foot in it, stutters a mumbled apology to the captive elf. Gathering his wits, he continues charging down the hall after the canine's lead, sword and shield at the ready.
Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
Cayley
Cayley pauses to drink her potion of healing before following the group. "Let's go boys!"
_______________
Potion: 2d4+2: [2d4+2] = 5+2 = 7, was down 5 from the dire weasel, so now back to full hp.

Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
Fine with me, Last post had Elusevs rolls to knock down the door the princess mentioned was holding the egg, those still valid or do you want me to roll again?
Life is a roller coaster, if you don't stop to enjoy it then you may as well not even ride.

Ah, yes, I see the post, the regular 1d6 roll for knocking down a door was not successful with a 6 rolled !
The module does not state a different roll like a strength one for the door so i will stick with the 1d6 roll made.
That said Elusev made a loud bang on slamming against the door to no avail, definitely alerting anyone inside (door opens inward from appearances).
Mugg the Dwarf says,
"Doesn't anyone know how to use a door handle anymore?! (Sighs)"

Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
But Mugg! The rule of Cool!
Elusev, seeing that the door did not do as he wanted, attempted to hastily open the door using the handle, using the door as a shield for any projectiles. Once the door is open Elusev will take aim and fire at any enemies present, priority on any kobolds attempting to destroy the egg.
Long Bow(Specialized), To Hit:[1d20+4] = 1+4 = 5, Damage: S/M[1d6+1] = 5+1 = 6, L[1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3

Dungeon Master:
Elusev opens the door, initially using it as a shield, as the door opens slowly inward, at first, he momentarily spots a kobold to the right, behind what looks like a pew.
That Kobold fired a bolt, as you heard a 'Thunk' hit the door!
Elusev then kicks the door fully open spotting 2 more Kobold behind pews, including a big burly one.
He also spots two robe wearing figures at an altar with a blood soaked egg-shaped object in a bowl.
One of those robe wearing figures has a ritualistic looking hammer & is posed ready to strike the egg-shaped object.
The other robe wearing figure is chanting & making blessing signs towards the egg-shaped object as he brushes more blood onto it.
Elusev fires an arrow at the Robe wearing Kobold with the ritualistic looking hammer but it missed the figure !
Critical Fumble Result (Elusev rolled a natural 1): [1d100] = 46 : Lose Grip on Weapon !
I need a Dexterity check (1D20) or Elusev can not use his bow next turn !
2 more bolts came flying at Elusev as this all happened from the other 2 Kobolds in the behind the pews.
Bolt #1: [1d20] = 16 : This is a Miss !
Bolt #2: [1d20] = 10 : This is a Miss !
Smoke the Cooshee will lunge towards the Kobold on the right hand side going in.

Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
Dexterity Check(17): [1d20] = 11
Elusev, having done too many actions all at once, fumbles his bow but is able to catch it before it falls from his hand. Once control over his weapon is regained Elusev will fire another arrow at the hammer wielding Kobold.
Long Bow(Specialized), To Hit:[1d20+4] = 1+4 = 5, Damage: S/M[1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2, L[1d6+1] = 5+1 = 6
Hahahahaha What.

Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
With rolls like these we might as well drop the egg while carrying it, lol.
Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
Cayley
Assuming Cayley can get through the door, she will enter and move to the left to allow others to enter. She will keep her back to the wall and launch a sling bullet at the one wielding the hammer. "For Caer Brennau!"
Attack: 1d20 = [1d20] = 8
Damage: Perhaps another time.

yea, I need a general idea of how you are all going to fan through the door & where you are headed & aiming at, hoping to melee with etc.
Then I will update the map & get the 1st round of melee combat going.

Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
The doctor will wait his turn to file into the room and assess the situation.
Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
Once the fighters and cleric have gone in, Jenks will dive into the room, behind a pew to the left.
Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
Tuireann will enter the room in order and head for the egg at the alter and engage the Kobalt on the right of it.
Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
What a typical way to start the combat in this adventure!
Arn rushes in and to the right. He engages the goblin in the pews so that Tuireann can have a clear approach to the altar.
Long sword: [1d20+1] = 13+1 = 14; Damage (s/m): [1d8+1] = 6+1 = 7, (l): [1d12+1] = 5+1 = 6

Elusev's 2nd Critical Miss Result: [1d100] = 30: This is a Stumble, roll Elusev's Dexterity or less or you are Stunned for 1d6= [1d6] = 3 turns !
Updated Map of what I have so far, with tuireann running around the pews to the right side of the altar where the ritual hammer bearer is:
I would suggest Teladrin providing cover fire, so the fighters can filter into the room.
I have Oddgar heading for the Kobold on the left, while Mugg & Hemlocks head for the Robed Kobold on the left side of the altar, (the one chanting & brushing blood on the Egg shaped object)
There is the Big Burly Kobold in the center to deal with as well.
Player Map: (Again Let me know of changes):

Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
Once the doctor gets to the door and sees things he begins casting sleep and will target the two kobolds by the egg in a way that only they are in the spells area of effect or at least the one who looks like he might be trying to hit it. He'll use the pews as cover as he moves in for added protection. He says in code so the others know he's casting sleep near the alter, "Alter night night."

Re: Chapter 5: Down into the Darkness
I'll probably end up smashing the egg with my luck if I target the robed kobolds. So I want to target the kobolds on the front. What should I roll to use my spear arm attack? Also, can I throw any spears while having tied spears to my arm?
