Snorri bellows a challenge as he wades into the fray, bringing that massive axe around in a murderous arc…
Great Axe: To Hit [1d20+2]=1+2=3 Damage [2d6+3]=5+3=8
An ignominious start!
Save vs Poison Place Holder : [1d20]=5
Again, ignominious…

Cyril
"It appears they are still upset with us."
Cyril moves within range of a tube wielding slave and launches a projectile at it.

Battle In The Open Courtyard
Ruined Warlords Palace
Drest sprints across the open area towards the blowgunners, unable to connect once he arrives.
Valkrina races into the bloody maelstrom to grab the neck collar of the slave she just hypnotized, pulling him into the area with the others. Witnessing this does nothing to calm the already frenzied emotions of the non-combative bunch, and the language barrier only makes things worse. A few of the men in this group pick up rocks and debris, ready to defend their domain with their very lives if necessary. The screaming and shouting only gets worse, but the bard is able to avoid the deadly darts flying through the air so far.
Akhilleus is hit with one dart as he moves forward to continue hacking at the oncoming enemy, though luckily, the poison doesn't seem to effect him.
1 dam He takes 2 attacks without incident before chopping away at the aggressors, violently killing another where he once stood. As Snorri charges into the action, he too is targeted by the dart firing slaves, watching the projectiles break into pieces after they hit his chainmail hauberk. He does little to aid in the fight however, nearly falling over once he gets into sword range. Another crazed slave exits through the door to join the attack.
Xenos moves up and over, launching a javelin at the attacker across the courtyard, hitting him squarely but not well enough to drop the threat. Cyril also moves into the open to implement his sling, unable to connect with the dangerous enemy across the way.

Xenos continues to move towards the slaves in the corner (3 squares NW) and launches another javelin. (ideally at the same slave if he has LOS, otherwise the next to the left)
Initiative: [1d6]=1
Javelin: to-hit [1d20+2]=2+2=4; dmg [1d4+2]=1+2=3

Great Axe: To Hit [1d20+2]=3+2=5 Damage [2d6+3]=6+3=9

Cyril
"I do wonder if this is a tenable spot." Meanwhile, Cyril keeps slinging at the blowgunners.
He then turns and glances at the way he came down to see if ascent looks difficult enough to require a feat of dexterity to complete successfully...or if it is even possible without a rope.

Valkrina
I wanted to hurry the man and non-combatants out of the conflict zone, preferably the fortress itself. I just don't trust having them behind us as we explore not to betray our presence or hinder us. So escaping death might be a wise thing to encourage them to pack up and flee.

Battle In The Open Courtyard
Ruined Warlords Palace
While her companions fight for their lives, Valkrina continues her attempt to get the group of 20 slaves out of the building. The man she has hypnotized seems willing to do as she says, but the confusion caused by their sudden bloody attack has sent the rest of the group into a chaotic frenzy. They continue to shout incomprehensibly and cry out loud as the women and children cower behind the men. Two of the men launch their rocks at the bard, with one clipping her in the shoulder as she continues her apparently hopeless cause.
1 dam
Drest flails wildly at his opponent while the other three fire their darts at the scout. One dart penetrates his skin
1 dam, causing the Pict to suddenly become lightheaded and woozy. He manages to stay on his feet, but it is clear he is having trouble staying alert in this fight.
-2 to hit/on dam for the rest of the encounter
Xenos and Snorri miss their opportunity to damage this larger group any further, but Cyril sends another sling stone across the courtyard that takes down the blowgunner Xenos injured earlier. When the concerned priest of Azathoth looks to the possibility of egress behind him, he
thinks he could make it out without a rope.
(ToD at +1)
Akhilleus keeps slashing and stabbing at the group trying to kill him, slaying another and injuring a second. He and Snorri are hit by counter attacks, leaving the large Viking with a viscous new wound.

Xenos continues to move (generally NNW-ish) to arrive to the left of Drest and attack one of the slaves there:
Initiative: [1d6]=5
Scimitar (long): to-hit [1d20+4]=11+4=15, damage [1d8+3]=2+3=5
Just in case:
Death save (16): [1d20]=19

Drest
Drest continues to fight.
Short Sword [1d20-2]=19-2=17 to hit [1d6-1]=1-1=0 damage
LOL, I finally hit and do no damage.

Cyril yells:
"Begone slaves or meet your doom!" Cyril is willfully ignorant of the fact that none of the slaves can probably actually understand him.
He picks out another blowgunner and whips a stone at them.

Valkrina
Using my power of Suggestion, I will try to convince the hypnotized slave to leave the building and take as many of the cowering slaves with him.
I have a purse of sixth silver pieces which I will use to bribe/sweeten the incentive to leave before they get killed by my murder hobo group.

Snorri redoubles his efforts and swings his axe again!
Great Axe: To Hit [1d20+2]=20+2=22 Damage [2d6+3]=7+3=10
That’s a nat 20! Woot! How does that work in Hyperborea?

Working on this update now.
In the meantime, I made a couple OOC posts that can be discussed, if necessary.

Battle In The Open Courtyard
Ruined Warlords Palace
Whittling
Xenos sees Drest wobbling as he charges to his rescue, stabbing his sword into another slave as two more feathered shafts fly from the others. One dart hits the Warlock, but he is able to fend off the effects of the poison.
1 dam A few more slaves enter the fray through the open door just as Akhilleus and Snorri cut down 2 of there friends. The crazed looks and vacant eyes of these men give the impression they will not relent despite their numbers being decimated. Both men are hit, but their armor stands up to the lesser weapons of these renegade slaves.
Cyril lets another stone fly, injuring one of the last 2 blowgunners, while Drest barely wounds a slave who suddenly charges he and Xenos through the rubble, hitting the scout and causing him another nasty wound.
5 dam
Using hand signals, Valkrina shows the group of slaves a pouch with a few silver coins inside, yelling for her spell victim to lead these folks outside. He grabs the purse and takes off up the mound of sand, through the rubble, waving for the others to follow him, which they slowly comprehend and eventually begin to leave their area.
