Hello everyone. Here's a Conan thread you might want to read as entertainment. A deep dive into the movie(s). The story of Red Hair!

Re: OOC Chatter
It seems like our Fighters are a little scrambled on attack rules.
Weapon Mastery gives a Fighter class an extra attack every other round with that specific weapon. (3/2)
Heroic Fighting against opponents of 1HD or less allows double normal attacks. (3/2 would = 2 attacks on the first round, 4 attacks the next round)
Are these rules being interpreted differently by some of you? If so, let's talk it over here.

For simplicities sake, I have been doubling the rolled damage on rolls of 20. (and ignoring 1's)Tamerlaine wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 12:38 am That’s a nat 20! Woot! How does that work in Hyperborea?
There are some charts in the book for crits, but I don't really love them.

However, if the group would rather see these put into use, we could do that, to see how it works. I would play it out by the book if everyone wanted to give that a try, but it would require a couple more rolls be made, (d6 on 20's/d12 on 1's) potentially slowing the action down a bit in the process.
What do we think?

I forgot about 3/2 attacks per round with weapon mastery, so I missinterpret the rule. Sorry for that.OGRE MAGE wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 2:31 pm It seems like our Fighters are a little scrambled on attack rules.

Next round I'll roll 2 attacks. Tell me if anything has to be changed.

Double dmg is fine by me tbh.OGRE MAGE wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 2:43 pmFor simplicities sake, I have been doubling the rolled damage on rolls of 20. (and ignoring 1's)Tamerlaine wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 12:38 am That’s a nat 20! Woot! How does that work in Hyperborea?

Re: OOC Chatter
Xenos has Weapon Mastery, which will come into use with an extra attack next round.
I'm happy with a simple double dmg for a 20, but if the majority wanted to use the tables it wouldn't bother me.

Re: OOC Chatter
Double damage works fine, I don't care for the chart in the rules either actually. I am not running a fighter but I would think 3/2 would double t0 3 attacks a round.

Re: OOC Chatter
I think I'm getting it right. Let me know if It's wrong:
I've got Weapon Mastery with my broad sword, which makes it 3/2. 1 attack odd rounds (1st, 3rd, etc), 2 attacks even rounds. +1 to hit and damage.
I do not have weapon mastery (or many more arrows!) with my short bow, but it's got a default ROF of 3/2, so it works the same, except without the WM +1 to hit/damage, and just the dex +1 to hit.
I do keep forgetting the combat rounds are 10 seconds and wanting to do a minute's worth of stuff!

Re: OOC Chatter
Okay so I think some OOC strategy talk is in order for the Mausoleum team. If we're to survive this.
We need to clear an exit and we need to do it focusing on one front instead of three. Tuurma is raging and cannot withdraw, so I strongly suggest the other two fronts disengage immediately, run her way and drag their downed colleagues with them. She's also the hardest hitting fighter while raging, at 2/1 attacks and bonus hit points. After her rage end she'll collapse though, so she would have to be dragged away as well.
Maybe Maxon is allowed to change his action to a withdrawal (should he agree with me of course)? GM call.
Any fire to block the other zombies and the ooze is welcome, but please poor the oil and set it on fire
Any other ideas?
In the meantime I'll update for Tuurma since she has to attack anyway.

Re: OOC Chatter
Actually......
I prefer players don't tell other players what they should be doing.
I know I don't like when someone else tells me what to do.
Making OOC suggestions for a future action is always welcome, as is strategizing together here, (like this) but once a player makes a post, that action is binding.
(yes, even the bad decisions)
