The aarakocra help you into your slings and begin to carry you off into the sky one by one. Morgi and Wyntar use their own means of magical flight, Wyntar bringing Halo in tow.

As you climb, you begin to see your destination off in the distance. The cliff face is dotted with ledges and caves where the bird folk dwell. The entire area is quite crowded at the moment and many of the creatures have no more than an overhanging ledge to roost under. In all, you notice less than 3 or 4 dozen of them around. Some of the caves are decorated with elaborate paintings of abstract designs and colorful banners that flap in the wind. Excited aarakocra chatter loudly and flap their wings as you approach.

The largest of the ledges, about 100 feet across, holds the massive sky temple. You see beams of light shooting into the sky covering the low dark clouds in an iridescent glow. The light swings in an arc sending luminous patterns dancing across the sky. You continue to fly towards it and see a massive teardrop shaped structure standing alone out on the end of the lofty ledge. You can hear the toll of a bell and see many openings in the sides of the temple that the light shines through.

You are dropped off on the ledge in front of a large opening at the base of the temple. The edifice stands at least 100 feet in height and is formed from numerous blocks of stone of varying sizes. The many openings that are built into the latticework also vary in size from about an inch in diameter to over ten feet across.

From one of these larger openings emerges another bright red aarakocra. He does a few quick barrel rolls as he flies in your direction and then lands to greet you. His plumage is even brighter than "red leader" Jirrock, and the whites of his eyes are almost completely red. You haven't noticed this phenomenon in Chewy or any of the other bird men you've seen so far. He addresses the party in almost perfect common.

Welcome groundlings!
I am Kirraka, high shaman of the wind people. Welcome to Tikka-ti-jarra, our sacred temple in the sky.

He spreads his wings out and points to the impressive structure behind him.

Few stone walkers have ever even seen this place much less been invited guests. Would you please enter and speak with us? We are in desperate need of assistance.

Morgi lands and is sincerely impressed at the home of the birdmen. As the leader presents himself, he looks at Halo and defers to his beaming personality.

Trotter bows deeply and says, Thank you, Kirraka, for welcoming us on your great temple. We will endeavour to be worthy of the honor you have bestowed on us. Let us speak of how we can assist.

The monk bows his head and says, We are humbled by this rare honor. If you would please lead the way, we would be happy to listen and see how we can aid you.

Halo let's go of Wyntar and with his momentum gently drifts to the ground.

He bows low to the shaman. "Honoured reverend, my name is Halo, a chevalier of Pelor the Lord of light. We are thankful of your hospitality and are here to help. What can you tell us and how may we be of assistance?"

He looks around, impressed at the glorious structures built here so high upon the mountain steps.

Blodget, halfling thief:

Blodget peeked out from behind Mr. Rabbit and stared in awe at the cloud city. The hobbit was all eyes and ears, and no mouth. He stuck very close to the great heroes of his company, the exhilarating memories of the flight still causing his heart to pound.

Mira stands agog taking in the beauty of the mountain retreat. She bows to the Red Leader in reverence, but can't find the words to express herself.

Kirraka bows low at each of the sincere greetings. He then leads you through the entrance of the temple and motions for you to take a seat on a soft, feathery carpet. You notice that the light rays outside are coming from a large, brightly lit gem that hangs from a silver thread in the center of the ceiling. Next to it is a large, silver mirror that spins and shoots the light rays off in many different directions through the temples openings. Hanging above it is a silver bell that tolls softly in the breeze. You also see many perches set into the walls throughout the temples interior.

To the side of the entryway are three elderly female aarakocra. They sit around a large silver bowl and seem to be separating the seeds from an odd looking weed that you've never seen before. As you enter, Kirraka grabs one of these seeds out of the bowl and pops it in his mouth.

There is another red shaman with bloodshot eyes in the temple that Kirraka introduces to you as Ikkyrick'e. You notice Chewy, Jirrock, and two others also enter and gather around the party for the conversation. Kirraka again thanks the party profusely for coming and makes sure everyone is comfortable before he begins.

Now then, the first thing I must ask is, which one of you is affiliated with the great and powerful Chikurra?

Can I get a save vs. Breath from everyone in their next post please? Don't worry, I'm sure nothing bad is going to happen.
You have no idea who or what a Chikurra is by the way.

Blodget, halfling thief:

"Nor I !" called Blodget's voice from behind the monk's robes.
Save vs. Breath (14, 12 vs. Cold Breath): [1d20] = 9

Also, I think Blodget might be fully healed by now. Thanks. :)

Are they testing us? Mira wonders silently, longer even than she wonders who Chikurra is. Instead she focuses on the Aarakocra, their movements, their voices and calls...

Right you are! I was thinking that it only took a couple of turns to fly up there but I forgot that you needed to travel a few more hours to get to the edge of the gorge first.

My bad!
I will fix in the next post. Hopefully, this aft.
