Garvin offers "Unless we know what we're lookin' for or where the most high value gear's to be found I suggest we clean out each place in turn an' as a group. Might do to leave a spy bot keepin' the eye outside".

I can take a peek in the warehouse and each of the other structures as well. It’ll drain me a little, but I think it’s the safest way to gain Situational Awareness. Perhaps I should save a scan of the Disintegrator Beam for last, when we’re out of the site…. Save that for last in case I set something off. Thoughts? Let me look at the warehouse….

A quick 10 second but high definition look. He’ll attempt to assess the status of archeological work, read the headlines of any reports laying around or view any artifacts
It looks like they've cleaned up anything loose. The domes are empty. They've even been swept clean of dust. In the nine months since Mad Dog found the place, it has been stripped bare. The only place that doesn't look to have been disturbed is where the disintegrator weapon fired from up on the sidewall of the crater. That area does not seem to have been examined.

The landscape doesn't pop anything unexpected. The habitat is heated, so you see that. Otherwise, nothing stands out.

"I have a number of them circling the area," Roscoe said. "If anyone pops up unexpectedly, I'll let everyone know."

Based on what Walt says, it sounds like the place has been cleaned out. Doublechecking some of the domes and the warehouse confirms that. Even the wrecked ship is empty. Anything loose is gone and they've stripped all the major systems. There is no sign of digging and the area where you know the disintegrator weapon fired from seems undisturbed.

Garvin says to Walt "Over to you then to case the Disintigrator site. It might be easier to see an entrance from the inside lookin' out. That's if the Ancients 'ad any need of doors...".

When Walt looks, it will take him four tries to locate something. In this case, a tube cut in the stone with a metal ladder coming up from below the surface and rising to something on the wall of the crater. As he is most likely looking at surface level, he will note there is a niche at the surface level where there are controls inside and an obvious door leading out to where the players are. Outside, there is no sign of a door or controls. As the controls consist of a single button, Walt is free to try telekinesis to activate it if he likes.

Walt-
Will describe what he sees, and the possibility of pressing the control telekinetically.
”Need a team decision. Besides pushing the button from a distance, I can also try to project my Clairvoyance down the shaft and up to out of our line of sight.

Might be best to send one of Roscoe’s spy bots to see what we can ahead of me doing anything. Bilis enhanced my already better than average psi reserve, but it’s not limitless. I’d like to slow down psi strength expenditure if able.

If the gun fires or something else spectacular happens, it’s going to draw attention from the IN overhead and whatever lies below. If we press-to-test then I project my sight. See what we can see.

But better be in a position to use the bikes and terrain as screen from prying eyes. Thoughts?”

Yes, Spicoli is going. I'm checking in when I can. :)

"I have had the spybots looking all over this area," Roscoe said. "I'm not seeing anything. Whatever is here is devilishly well concealed. Unsurprising, since it doesn't look like the Navy or whoever else was here found it either."

I'll say that you do. I'm not going to let you roll because your best searching turns up bupkis. Whatever is hidden is too well concealed to be found.

"Mister Mundane chimin' in. Let's get in close on the bikes hide 'em up an' then 'ave Walt tip the button". It's possible to "hear" Garvin's smile "Them old Ancients were the devils with the super high tech but I'll bet that expertise also extends to machinin' a molecule tolerance tight "secret door".

A handy rockfall is found and the bikes parked. Back to you.

The control actuates easily. Moments later, a vertical oval of stone in the crater wall simply seems to get fuzzy and then vanishes as if it had never been there.

Inside is an alcove where maybe two people can stand cut into the stone. A tube in the stone goes up and down with a metal ladder sitting there close at hand. The tube is wide enough for a single person to comfortably climb even in a vacc suit. The metal is sort of silverish, but dull. Something between gray and silver. It looks untouched by the passage of time.

Garvin says "There yer go Arkar - quality gear right there. About 100K creds a foot as towel rail on "Nik Naks for Nobility" He cheerfully asides "That's "Nobs" for short. Since its bein' useful looks lie we best take it on the way out, eh?"

He enters and climbs the ladder "No pushin' at the back now but I really wouldn't want to be there when that rock "re-parks" from wherever it went".

The tube goes up a couple of dozen meters and opens into a small chamber. There is what almost looks like a ship's laser but bigger. It's not at all familiar, but obviously a weapon. It is aimed at the stone wall, but there is an oval ring of metal. Odds are good that it makes the area the weapon shoots vanish when the weapon engages. There are no controls, so the weapon must control it.

Is anyone else doing anything?
